Thank you for bringing this point on. So, posture is one thing, pelvic floor is another.

I am experiencing interstial cystosis type symptoms, constant dull pain down below, low burning urination stream shortly after I began engaging my pelvic floor muscles to support singing upper range. My doctor referred me to see a urologist after my blood results all came back normal.

Thank you. It sucks how such a thing can affect your body so heavily. For a long time now I’ve had a very tight/weak dysfunctional pelvic floor and really all the surrounding muscles, which resulted in weak inconsistent breathing, which resulted in voice changes, which also brought along a ton of other issues like anxiety with the chest breathing. All of it is kind of fucked. I just want to feel normal

Hello dear Tina your video was very educative.
Couple of months ago,I experienced an extremely stressfull traumatic situation that affected my singing ability.
During singing I felt great pressure in my left upper part of my abdomen(just down the lower left rib cage)
I did all the medical exams needed like gastroscopy, ultra sound of the upper abdomen, and cardiological exams, all negative.
Quit my vocal lessons because I felt pressure and pain even in my pianissimo low volume average music tones.
Note also that I am not a tenor, neither a belter so I sing in an average range.
Anyway I found some relief when I managed somehow to start feeling a kind of contruction in my pelvic floor.
For example,I was breathing peacefully on a body posture with my knees and hands on the bead or to the ground floor focusing on the feeling of my perineal muscles contracting
That caused some kind of relief
But still those are dark waters for me.
Doctors could n t help and my vocal coach couldn t help.
Can you give me some directions for a succesfull total relief of my symptom please?
I would appreciate that because I love singing and I don t want to quit it.
Still fighting with that pressure feeling in my left front side of the "balloon" you nicely showed.
Thank you very much for your time.

So, when exhaling for singing should we lift the pelvic floor or resist (continue pushing downwards)?

Really interesting. I trained as an opera singer for years and then developed pelvic pain in my 40's which I'm now finally having physio for (after going around in ever decreasing circles with urologists...and other useless idiots).

Why does my prolapse get worse when I sing.? I am a classical singer. Thank you.

If you are using abnormal strategies for breathing and singing then this will cause more pressure down on the organs possibly contributing to prolapse.
