I am Mr Lightness And Emissions.
its not Nissan engine?
Heartbreaking my dude @tavarish
yellow fits it
LT6 it.
Man… I felt the pain when we blew up the lemons BMW engine our first race… I can’t even imagine this. Idk how you hold your composure Freddy!
I remember when you blew the M54 in the lemons car. I started paying more careful attention to my M54 after that
Revenue from views you know all about it Chris don’t give us that 😂
I thought the same thing. I would have cried through every pore of my body
It seems McLarens fulfilll every cliche of British cars. Total grenades.
This engine is a little bit more expensive to replace, though, lol.
Damon is like: Welcome to the club
Hahahahah 😂 so true LoL 😅
The " windows carved in the side of the bloc..." club 😅
@dailydrivenexotics
Plot twist. Tavarish bought the DDE 720 GTR for the engine/turbos/peripherals.
😂😂😂
I love how you don't get upset AT ALL. Is that confidence that you know you can just rebuild and keep going?
Congratulations on the P1. It is going to be an amazing adventure.
No, it's not coinfidence than he knows he can rebuild it. It's coinfidence he has more money to spend.
@@alejandroperez5368 more that he can make videos about it.
@@deth3021 you can make videos and make no money out of them.
He has confidence because he is rich.
@@alejandroperez5368 so you are saying that he makes no money from sponsors and youtube?
🤡
@@alejandroperez5368 Well Mclaren itself had quite a bit of trouble getting those nissan engines reliable. And those are modified nissan race engines. To think Tavarish can improve on that is ridiculous. With enough money and time i suppose you can but Mclaren struggled for years. Makes for entertaining content that's for sure.
Kevin is a absolute gem...love his attitude and charisma. Bring him back Freddie!
Ahhhh. So nice to see Tavarish back in his element. On a mission to fix really cool, really broken stuff. You look good dude. Hope you’re feeling good and can find a pace that really allows you to do what you love without sacrificing your health. Best of luck with everything, and thanks for still making videos. Was happy to see this one pop up.
Anyone else catch the Easter egg yellow McClaren split second frame at the end of the video?
@@ARTICLE7ENT he shows it on matt Armstrongs latest upload
@@ARTICLE7ENT I believe that's the hurricane-flooded P1.
Great to have you back and I also just wanted to say you are an absolute legend for letting Matt rebuild his Porsche in your shop.
I second this comment
i third this comment
@@vowhe I sixtynineth this comment
Shout out to all of Tavarish's friends who spend time with him to help him get through the rough times. Awesome video can't wait for more!
Which rough times?
@@Kampf0r right when you can laugh at a blown engine you dont have many rough time. I blew the engine in my civic and it ruined my month
I don’t know how Tavarish was so calm like that’s heart wrenching
21:32 0.25x speed and you will see the yellow P1!
Hell yeah! I was going comment that right now.
its not yellow its ORANGE
@@mib20000 It's Volcano yellow 👍
woaw dude, you nailed it :-) !
@@mib20000 maybe it's TNT Express 🤣
The P1 has to be the worse kept secret EVER 😂
Yeah dude.
did he get the flooded p1? lmao
SHHHHHHHHHHH dont say anything. FUCK SIMON, come on man.
He let the cat outta the bag on TST like 2 months ago
@@xuaxace Yep
Surprised that the engine had less than 100 HP headroom. Impressive engineering for an engine to be designed to be just enough to survive reliably.
We need to see Kevin on the channel more often.
He seems like a genuinely nice guy while being very honest and very entertaining
For Tavarish's sake, hopefully Kevin won't be back on the channel every 1500 miles lol XD
What happened to the other guy, Jared?
@@sjoroverpirat he has his own channel. Look up "The questionable garage" previously wrench every day.
@@BeardedFrog in Tavarish case only around the corner of his garage haha he didnt got far after 3 years of rebuilding...i felt a bit bad for him when the engine blew up
My biggest fear when driving my rebuilt mclaren...
I could understand that Ben but you don't drive it like you stole it like Freddie did he tracked his and red line reved all the time showing off which there is nothing wrong with that because you would expect a McLaren motor to take more punishment than what Freddie put it through!
@@joeysweet9045 the difference is that he rebuilt the engine, instead of sending it to the professional mechanics at McLaren, so you can't expect the engine to hold up as a normal McLaren engine would. This was always going to happen, it was just a matter of time
@@s..a893 would have blown anyways lol. mclaren engines are not made to be used
@@StarForgedTCG lol give McLaren some slack. I know people like to poke fun at them but they're seriously good cars. And when you think they've only been in the business for less than 15 years, you've got to give them some props. They may have some reliability issues but they're already rivalling the big boys that've been in the game for like half a century
@@StarForgedTCG McLarens have fantastic engines. It's everything else surrounding the engine that is questionable. No idea what Freddy did to kill this one, it's rare on cars near stock power-levels. Probably an oiling issue.
I can't believe how happy this man even when his pride and joy is pretty much fucked up! you are truly inspirational brother so glad to see your back and doing what you loved
Freddy it has been amazing to see you back making content. I felt like a large part of UA-cam has been missing and I think I can speak for everyone when I say that. Wrench everyday
aw man, so sorry, this must be heartbreaking after you put so much time and love into it. Cant wait to see the rebuild though :) all the best!
"Block is borked" -- sounds bad. RIP Tavarish's engine.
the GOOD thing is that this sort of stuff makes excellent content on youtube. its going to be costly but he will end up making a lot of google adsense money on it.
He’s not heartbroken at all. He was laughing while he did it and is laughing now. In fact, I bet he blew it on purpose for the clicks.
Oh yeah. He wanted to do this. He purposely blew the sand cast bits so he could upgrade to forged and more boost. This is just all so predictable.
@@cathrynm can confirm. Borked is never a good adjective for an engine.
Tavarish we all have missed you and thank you for getting back on UA-cam. I pray that you are mentally and physically doing ok. God only know what your going through and I hope your ok. I can understand maybe a little going threw a divorce as we speak and I love my wife soon to be x more then life itself. My kids are suffering also. This sucks
I respect your honesty, not blaming McLaren reliability like others do, as obviously (bad?) tune pushed the engine over the edge.
Your mood about the whole incident is just amazing I love your upbeat demeanor on the prospect of what you'll have to do to restore the car to drive again...hats off
You got the flood P1?! Could not have gone to any one better! Cant wait to see what you do with it! Glad ur back!!
Is it black and yellow?
Yes its the color from the last shots of the video
They showed it on armstrong's channel during a garage tour earlier. He has orange P1 pieces covered and there's sand falling out of em everywhere.. 99% sure it's the p1

I’m hurting for you brother. Thanks for taking it like a champ and turning it into a teachable moment for everyone. Best of luck, honestly.
Your patience, demeanour and general can-do positive attitude is incredible! Wishing you ALL the best
Oh boy I’m so sorry i followed your journey with this car so can understand your pain but you took it very well😢 can’t wait to see the next version keep on posting love your content
Time for the first LS swapped McLaren 675LT 👍🏻
haha, I always said making power w/McLaren does seem worth it. If you started with a chassis then picked engine & trans you would be ahead in terms of trouble & cost.
I feel you bro. I’m glad to see you back
I'm a new subscriber. Jumped on with the P1 rebuild and have only watched a few posts but allready I'm rooting first you. This going bang and taking on the P1 has put a lot on your plate but whoever is guiding your mental health is doing a great job. Your taking it all in your stride and are a very capable and strong fellow. Good luck with these Mclarens.
Absolutely Heart Wrenching, and a very important lesson for us on over loading the power.
Really sorry to hear about the engine, but glad to hear that you most likely will repair it because its one of the most beautiful Mclarens out there. And I look forward to see what you will have next!
By repair you mean he'll get a new engine
21:32 pause it and see whats on that trailer
I had the same thing happen to my 2001 trans am and I was absolutely devestated…. I can’t imagine it happening to that caliber of car. I’m sorry man. And mannnn am I amazed how well you are taking it.
You are the warranty! Total bummer, but full confidence you get this back together. Looking forward to the re-rebuild.
Hope all is well man. Appreciate the hard work you put in your videos.
cant be too sad when your building one of the most famous flooded P1s
Awesome to see you back, gotta say you and Matt together are "the dream team" just seems your personalities mesh together perfectly in front of the camera, as far as the McLaren goes oh well you have 34 other cars right! looking forward to see some of the projects underway getting completed.
Glad to see you posting again
Freddie is handling this like a champ. I know it sucks but all things considered he's done a great job staying optimistic
Have fun with that dude, I can’t wait to follow the rebuild. Not sure about other people, but I personally love it when you talk normally rather than try to be funny.
Damn he just teased P1 at the very last second. So excited for you man!!!!!!!
there is a shot of the P1 on a trailer being towed by freddy @ 21:32

WOW.. Kevin has some real charisma and is good on camera too!
Looking forward to future episodes.
And don’t get me wrong, having this happen to your multi hundred thousand dollar car is no joke. But I’m happy it happened to you, so it gets build beter.. no, for the awesome content we as a viewer get to consume.
Thanks for being so positive and awesome all the time! 💪🏼
I know everyone else has been saying it but so glad to see you back here! I'm also hoping all is well with you and that things continue to get better. UA-cam is definitely a better place when a Tavarish video releases for sure!
dude. i dont know how u can still have a smile on youre face.i would have been so depressed if something like this happened to me. hope u get it running again in the near future. goodluck.
you been working out tavarish looking good!
Hurts to see but it will be awesome to see it back on the road with more reliability 🧡
Damon seems like such a nice guy he's so passionate about the stuff he does I'm hyped to see you two working together 🧡
is it possible to prevent these things from happening?
Very early in my automotive days, I had a Chevy small block that threw a rod. That engine kept going for another 50 miles, almost got me home. But out of that experience I learned coolant and engine oil do mix. It's not pretty but they do mix.
It's nice to hear Ricardo did a good job with the engine. My uncle is one of the lead engineers in the Gearbox department. Used to be all over the world testing different projects.
Nice! I work for Ricardo at the moment but not in Performance Products who manufacture all of the McLaren engines.
Having spent a ton of time getting my s2k running after it sat for basically 5 years (pulling the engine to tap a knock sensor hole, replacing the trans/flywheel, replacing the battery and interior fuse box harness, and a starter for good measure, only for it the Exedy clutch friction plate to blow on my first day back at work 2 days ago, I feel your pain , though probably not to the same extent. Glad to see you upgrading it though, it's gonna be savage with the extra power.
So glad to see you back and posting. Hope your doing well and everything will turn out ok I'm sure of that. Keep your head up and take it one day at a time.
I want to thank you Tavarish for your videos. I've learned a lot, albeit at your expense. I've also learned, from this video in particular, that not all vehicles with a lot of power might have been designed to handle that power.
Sorry for your loss brother. Love the T shirt. Derek is a crackup. as well as a for real mechanic. Get well soon!
Tavarish is such a nice man. Blew his motor but still kept high spirits
Freddie, you're just crazy my man! I love it and I hope you continue to give us great content. I've been a subscriber since the truck build and I hope everything good comes your way.
Really sucks that this happened. But I'm glad you're still in good spirits. You'll definitely fix it bro! If you end up getting a salvaged engine I think you should take it apart and rebuild it yourself. I think it would be great content
It's a sports car. Shouldn't throw rods
I think great content is the biggest issue for him. Yea, it sucks to have a project fail, yea, it's fun driving it but, when it fails, it's just like starting a new project with a bunch of great content.
@@shananagans5 there's 'project' and then there's '$100,000 engine swap'
The lesson here is that a finely tuned thoroughbred engine is designed to be as light as it can be and just strong enough for the power it achieves, you cannot just wack to huge turbo's on it like it's some cast iron American boat anchor and floor it. Here endeth the lesson ;) great content though and look forward to watching the rebuild.
KEVIN has a dynamite personality. What a character! Can't wait to see more of him in this project.
Thx
@@kevinperron5767 Yeah the right guy you need for this, man what a mission but he is right what an opportunity to make it stronger, better, faster.
Very sneaky single frame in there right at the end Tav! (Pro-tip for those who do not know: On PC at least, you can pause the video and use the comma and period keys to go frame-by-frame back and forth.)
Woaw, great trick the 'comma' and 'period' thing (< >), thanks! 👍
I don't understand how on earth u can still calm and composed after seeing that. U r rock dude.
That you're not crying the entire time is amazing to me.
Oh man....I am hurting seeing that window into the engine. Happy to see your videos bud! You ALWAYS make me smile & entertained!
Great to have you back my man. I really love your contents. I got excited that you're featured in Mat's Porsche. Hope to see more videos like this. Kinda miss Jared too. Much love from the Philippines ❤❤❤
Your sense of humour is off the roof, when the guys where pushing you making that sound .
Much respect from me.
I know I’m a little late to the party, but it’s F’N GREAT to see you again man. We all love you and got your back!
Time to see gintani and get the DDE spec motor!!!!
My thoughts exactly, and while he's at it, he might as well send the P1 engine there too.
Great to have you Back Freddie , loving the work your doing helping out fellow Britt Matt , my money would be on a Rod Bolt failure , as you said , no oil failure , nothing got hot , just an instant Rod failure , most likely the bolts
Tavarish- respect, man, I just wish I had an ounce of your positivity in situations like this
Kevin was brilliant and I’m longing to see more from this collaboration 🤩👌
Really like the explanations
We are so happy to have you back. I hope your feeling better. We all struggle pal you just got to get back up. Your mental health is more important than these videos. Thank you.
Glad your back, this is gonna be an amazing rebuild.
Good luck
Rod bearing: twisted up like a pretzel
Taverish: it doesnt look terrible
About 15 years ago I bought a crashed Porsche Boxter. It was mainly bodywork, but the bottom of the engine had skidded across the tarmac and ripped the bottom of the case out. Me, my dad and my uncle spent 4 years rebuilding it, and it was basically better than new when we were finished. However, one of the skills that the three of us was lacking was engine rebuild, so we opted for buying a complete replacement engine instead. The seller was adamant that the engine was totally overhauled and showed reciets as evidence. Six days after we got the car finished, the exact same thing as Tavarish' engine happened. A teardown of the engine by a certified Porsche mechanic revealed that the engine was totally shot even before it threw a rod through the crank case. The mechanic estimated that the engine hadn't had a decent service for the last 100K miles and was absolutely not rebult at any time.
Cant believe you got the flooded p1 cant wait to see if rebuilding and how turns out
You got this Tavarish! Wishing you all the best with rebuilding the 675. ❤
Ventilated engine blocks are the new thing! Very cutting-edge Tavarish!
I'm pretty impressed how excited you are looking at the hole 😄 If it happens to me, I would sit in the corner and cry in tears
I did it to my 69 wildcat. Blew two rods apart at about the same time. Gonna break it atleast make them question how
Good to have you back Freddy, have missed your content. We love you
I expected the internals in this engine to be a lot stronger than what you said. I'm always learning something
That reaction to the engine blowing was uh... surprising.
Really sad this happened, but I'm also not super surprised since you apparently chose to not do much to the engine before putting it back in.
Look forward to how this saga continues, cuz the LT is certainly a beauty and a very entertaining and educative project.
Also, it looks like the Aston Martin's front tyre desperately needs some air, please it hurts to see it like that.
I have loved the McLaren build from day one, and this looks exciting! Sorry you had that experience, but I am excited to see it get sorted.
Nice to see you back 👊 loving the content with Matt Savage and can't wait to see some more content from your good self
Great to see ya back Freddy……simple minded question, could the launch off of the hill in car trek jarred something loose??…..great video..
Love how positive you are about an issue! On occasions I get myself wrapped up in car problems and let them get to me! It’s a mechanical device and they ALL break especially when modified!!! Keep up that positive spirit!
Ok pause the video and lets all take a second to thank Tavarish for the upload. Really great to see you even if it's this unfortunate McLarens engine factor issues. Thank you hope you read the comments we're all excited to see it built better than the white gloves though they could.
I agree with you lower oil temperature and then getting on it harder than you should at that temp!! Recipe for disaster same thing happened to my N 54 BMW!!
How you can still keep your spirits up, is amazing.
I'm guessing he laughs when he's nervous - I would be bugging the f out
Great to see you Freddie. Wish it was under cheaper circumstances. All the best mate 👍
I resisted watching this video since I knew how much blood, sweat and tears went into this project and it was such a sweet ride as well an impressive rebuild.

Wow quite the destruction!
Great to see content hope your doing ok 👌🏻 and dang sorry this happened 😢
That is devastating dude, I am not even old enough to drive a car but seeing the engine blow made me so sad, he is really good at hiding his emotions like nothing happened..
I love how you just laugh, just love it.
