I was actually hired by the original owners insurance to investigate his original claim. I came across the video by complete accident. A friend of mine sent me the video, making fun of the people who took the video because they called it a Lamborghini. And to my avail, it was THE car and THE guy I was investigating. Good times lol
Did your heart skip a beat when you realized you nailed the guy?
@@mexicanspec my heart more so skipped a beat because it just fell into my lap. I busted my ass trying to nail the guy. We all knew it was fraud but couldn’t prove it. And it fell into my lap. That happened after midnight on a Saturday. I sent the video to my boss right when I realized it was our guy and our car. I got written up for messaging him so late....
@@Slightly-above-average he wrote you up?? What a prick!
@@sirroundsound9104 yeah he wasn’t the nicest person. Hence the reason I don’t work for them anymore. Life’s too short to deal with that much dysfunction
But if I’m not mistaken, I know before he went to prison, Andy was affiliated with Area 51 motor sports. I believe he still is. He was rolling around in a ACR viper not too long ago that made over 2k HP. I see the guy all the time when I’m out at my ranch by Lufkin TX
There's a bugatti-shaped hole in my heart. :(
Said every man ever 😅
Build it Freddy
Omg Taylor Hoover probably going to be buying it lol 😁😆
Is it an actual Bugatti shaped hole or is it vaguely civic shaped?
I feel the same for you tavarish :(
“I prefer a fresh water flood” Geez, Ed thinks on a whole different level!
Pretty simple, honestly..
Salt water flood cars are the worst POS cars you could buy. You can never,I mean NEVER get all the salt corrosion out of them. Ask anyone who's tried living with one. THEY SUCK!!!
Just a matter of time before fate and an elevated hot tub allows Ed to get his dream car. There's always the angry wife and swimming pool possibility but most likely a broken sewer pipe in the parking garage scenario
@@1STGeneral you mean a hot tub is going to flood onto the El Chapo McLaren F1?!
@@TheReaper42069 It really is. SALT = More corrosion is elementary school knowledge.
Thanks for the feature brother ! We’re beyond excited to share this build with the world. The Scuba Bug is almost complete 🤩
Fast forward: We rented out the Veyron for the first time, and it was crashed on the Strip. Driver claimed the E brake was on.
Truly badass to live 2 miles from where it crashed , and extremely badass getting to see the car in person with you guys
You are a brave man! Can't wait to see it.
Houston has a awesome team !! Keep up the good work .I’ll see y’all soon in Vegas
You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!
Someday I hope to have Ed’s voice, Freddie’s optimism, and Tyler’s sense of humor.
…
....
Solid
Goals.
Rabbits voice, tyler's wackyness, freddie's skills, eds height 😀
Freddy needs to figure out how to talk Houston into selling him this thing. It needs to happen!
Thatd be so insane! Bit of peer pressure should do the trick.
He’s also gotta talk to Jared about doing all the wrenching 😂 (just jokes love Freddy)
Freddie is good for the $$$ ROTFLMBO o-/-
Only after a Bolian-esque "shrewd negotiation" of course.
you evil man, dont do this to him..... or should you...
Smartest person involved in this story is the mechanic. Sorry Ed/Fred.
Agreed
Agreed again. He got paid several times over for not fixing the car and can boast with certainty that he once owned a Bugatti
@@Nyjawonder he still owns it.
Freddie would be involved
Car needs a "Pelican" plate.
As an auto transporter, I'm astounded someone would ship this in an open truck. Great story.
Im thinking the only reason it would be done would be to facilitate some kind of insurance fraud. Which may or may not have happened..
I'm flashing back to the old _Top Gear_ news segment where they showed one being delivered in Russia, vaguely tied down on the back of one of those industrial flatbed trucks with the built-in crane. :)
"I do prefer a fresh water flood" is the most Ed Bolian statement I've heard
I saw this car 10+ years ago when it was with the exotic car mechanic in North Houston. My father was having a service and track alignment done on his 997 GT3 at his shop… When we picked it up we were chatting with the owner of the shop about cars and motorsports, he took us back to show us a few track cars, as well as the Veyron. It was still in the original silver paint, but was very disassembled. Having known about the video and backstory, I was stunned that this car was being quietly worked on less than 30 minutes from home.
"I do prefer a freshwater flood" 😂
Ed: "Who paints the car first before rebuilding it?"..........cough...cough...Tavarish...cough.
That’s how cars are suppose to be painted.
@@MrPland1992 not really, you gotta rebuild, disassemble, paint and reassemble.
@@MrPland1992 not at all, protect the paint. fix parts and assemble to test fitment before painting so you do not accidentally scratch anything, then reassemble
@@MrPland1992 Only an idiot paints first before rebuilding.
@@masterwhopper414 or maybe you do shit work and rely on eyeballing panels to fit everything instead of properly repairing the frame to factory alignment specs and having it all fit like it was meant too.
I wouldn’t trust you with pre painted parts either, stick to your scuff/tape and shoot backyard jobs.
Also I think y’all misunderstood my original comment lol
Other than the cost of owning a McLaren F1, this may be the greatest video this channel has ever put out as any, ANY car enthusiast with an internet connection has seen that video. Thanks for the story, Ed.
The video is pure gold. Dude yelling it's a Lamborghini and right after he drives it in the water
Didn't realize this car had so much history since that "accident". On a side note, I almost hit a pelican once.
I hit a turkey once. In the middle of the hood of all places. Ive also decapitated a crow with the skidplate under my jeep, he gambled it was tall enough and lost.
In Spanish Alcatraz means pelican.
No you didn't
I hit a peacock in a 92 Ford Ranger once.
I would no..... Nevermind
This Veyorn have a way more interesting life than most Veyrons
1 of 1 Veyron Aqua Edition. Verrrry rare.
I am not sure if this is a good thing in this particular case.
Not a good selling point for a Bugatti. 😂😂😂 let a rich stooge take the plunge. Then his ego will inflate the price and another stooge that likes the UA-cam stooge will buy it and get fucked over… then the cycle continues… sad, but this is 2021 now
The most infamous Bugatti Veyron in existence. Those tires are crazy -- I remember James May driving it on a closed course and talking about the price of the tires, how much fuel it would consume and whatnot at 250mph.
That is amazing the history of this car, I remember hearing about this and seeing the video on UA-cam and the news (Edmonton,Alberta Canada) in 2009-2010
Just as an FYI there is a dead pixel in the camera. if you go to 10:03 the bottom right corner of his lip is where it's most noticeable. (Could be dust)
I only figured this out after cleaning my monitor twice :)
i almost cried thinking my new monitor is broken before realising it was his camera
Came here for this comment. Watching it on an 80" TV... I was just about to be very very sad. Lol
@@thatgreenrcsb I came here after watching this video on my 169 inch LED UHD 8K 4D TV. I was about to be sad aswell. 🥸

Houston hinted at that car months and months ago with how he has all the parts he needs to rebuild a Bugatti but never flat out said what car but every car enthusiast knows what car it was. Can’t wait to see full documentary on the rebuild
I got to see the car a few months ago when we filmed a UA-cam video at Royalty with the UA-camr I was working for at the time…. I promised I wouldn’t share pictures, but let me just say the car is no longer black… this car is a color you would never expect a Bugatti to be, and it is absolutely breathtaking…. Can’t wait for Houston’s reveal and full story.
Btw, Houston is one of the best people in the car community. He has bought and sold hundreds of exotics, and him and his team have driven the heck out of them, and also had to work on every inch of everything from Bugatti to Lamborghini to McLaren’s. He knows his stuff, but is still incredibly humble and genuine.
@@jamesricks still hasn’t shown
OF COURSE IT'S HOUSTON LMAOO this is like his 3rd or 4th veyron!! What a beast

i gotta say....i always appreciate how specific Ed is with the businesses he overlaps with. full name and proper pronunciation every single time.
Wow that's a lot of wasted money from a few people who's dreams of rebuilding this one car fizzled. I see this happen in the boat world.

Does Andy still have plans to do a interview with y’all? I know he talked about it earlier this year. Would be pretty cool to hear the whole story of what led up to the crash, jail time, etc.
Yes, he is.
@@VINwiki THAT is what I'll be waiting on. I've followed this story from the beginning and hearing about what happened where it fell off for me was fun - nice work as always - but I feel like hearing things from Andy's side will be amazing for the entire perspective.
First car trek was buying an exotic car for the price of a base corvette. Not a camry. Ed's done so many, they have ran together lol
@Edward nope, it was the first season.
@Edward Definitely Season 1
He didnt say first. He said second.
Ed, you got a dead pixel on your camera. Thought it was my monitor for the whole video, it wasn't.

Ed is going to blow a breaker when he learns Houston did 2JZ swap in the flooded Bug.
Did that actually happen? Aha

This is actually my first watch on VINwiki channel! I do know you since a while on Car Trek! :) Love those story!
Just so you guys know, you either have a spec of dust on your lens or your sensor is damaged. 2-3 pixels worth is quite noticeable during the close ups, less so during the full torso scenes.
Yep, it scared me for a couple of seconds, because I thought it was a problem with my 1 month old monitor... but once I noticed it, it was just driving me insane whatching the video.
i thought a had a dead pixel
One of the owners of this vehicle came to a shop I used to work at in Houston for a quote to make a wiring harness or something along those lines. The owner of the shop I worked at quoted him 60-80k to do and never heard from him after that.
no offence but why was the quote so high? surely a custom harness and a Syvecs ecu or something can't cost that much

I’m so glad that this car is finally being sorted out! I had written this car off to an interesting blip in history.
Such a great story! Welcome back, Ed, and thank you for taking the time. Can't wait to see the videos and hear more about this car.

How great is it that the fellas could pull this off now given where the channels are. They are killing it, and I’m loving watching the journey.

i know they guy he is actually a pretty good guy.
He’s probably a good guy, I don’t know him. My point is that what he did was really shady and blatant (Kinda like our politicians, but they get away with stuff like this all the time). He made a mistake and he paid for his mistake.
@@navysealnerd2221 I didnt do it to anyone personally just to the insurance company. Yes he paid his dues. I just talked to him and he said he will be giving his story on this channel.
if you're gonna insurance fraud on a million dollar exotic, chances are there will be a camera pointed to your car at all time
Worst part is he could have just said he lost control a bit, looked away, etc., and still gotten a payout, just wouldn't have been able to get coverage after. Anyway, amazing that someone in the know enough to make that kind of money could come up with such a half-assed fraud.

The way you're telling this story is hypnotic. Love it!
I was working in the Valero Texas city refinery when this happened. When I left work that day and was driving down the feeder road, I noticed a larger rear winged vehicle sitting in the water. The closer I got the more clearer it got that it wasn't Honda with a huge rear wing. I just didn't know it would become such a huge story. It sounded so horrible idling away in the water.
The next car trek will be 1 year long seeing this bugatti rebuilds
I'm bummed , seeing you and Freddy on the thumbnail with this title, Thought you Snagged it finally.
Mark my words. This will be on the top tens of 2021 stories!! Such a good one!
I really hope Houston gets that thing going. I really can't wait to see it done and driving. I mean what a wild background story. Probably the most famous buggatti in existence.
That was the longest intro in Vinwiki history.
"Houston, we need another Bugatti"
I understand wanting to paint it so you don't tell it's "that" veyron that was dunked in the water
I remember watching this video with my friends. Some said it must be fake, based on how absurd it was. However we came to the conclusion that it looked too legit to be fake. To hear the backstory of what actually occurred is nothing short of cathartic.
"More like private jet ownership, than aventador ownership" I've always suspected that about those vehicles, whew
When you tell a story everything else stops in my world. Lol. So freakin entertaining
This guys would be able to sell a YUGO for the price of Bugatti. The way he explains everything is nuts.

So the big winner in this story is the mechanic!!!!!!!!
I need to know, did his mechanic ever say,"Houston, we have a problem!"?

Houston was the perfect one to buy it and rebuild. For all obvious reasons. Sometimes ya just gotta enjoy a rebuild series lol.

Tavarish and Royalty Exotics could do a collaboration, and the rebuild be done on Tavarish channel, filming and editing, while Royalty Exotics, get a share of the ratings income.

@@TheBravo13x not fair? RE has the car, the parts. And can easily do the rebuilding series for their channel, as they are doing. Tavarish has more to gain. He only needs to assemble them, give his video editing flavor, and enjoy his ratings on the YT algorithm go skyrocketing.
