The only reason that it hurts so badly to be a Bears fan of 35 years as opposed to a jets or Browns fan, is that the Bears produced some of the biggest stars the game has ever seen such as Walter Payton, Devon Hester, Butkus, Urlacher, etc and they have had some teams that seemed like they could be contenders, only to end the season in heartbreak.
It was so refreshing for the Packers to take a page out of the bears draft book when they shit the bed and picked Love. Of course we don't know how he'll pan out, he'll most likely become a decent QB, but with that move they completely alienated their MVP QB. There was no question about his loyalty to the organization and his mindset that he would finish his career there. That though completely changed in one night. All they had to do was draft an offensive weapon that wasn't a QB, or even foul up and draft a D player. They truly drafted the one and only position they shouldn't of and forever changed the course of their team... So refreshing
@@charlesrupp3976 I remember sitting with my friends at BWW and when they chose Sammy...we didn't understand it. Mack was tailor made for that defense they had.
The Saints trading their whole draft plus two picks in the following year's draft to move up to get Ricky Williams has to be the stupidest draft trade of all time.

When you realize Mitch trubisky has never had a losing record when starting, made the playoffs 2 out of 4 years in his career, and had a game with 4 first half passing td
To this day I still don’t know what they saw in Trubisky Watson was clearly the best QB to get at the time and didn’t have to trade up to get him either oh well Watson is now dealing with accusations so it is what it is
To this day, I can't begin to comprehend what the actual frick was going through Bears management's heads on the whole Trubisky deal. What an amazing s**tshow.
There was one draft where the Browns gave up a few picks to the Vikings to move up one spot and take a running back the Vikings had no interest in (they already had Adrian Peterson).
You forgot to mention that the Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones said that if they hadn't made the trade, the Cowboys would have taken Michael Brockers with the first round pick and Bobby Wagner with the 2nd round pick. Yeah, I wish they hadn't made the trade. Although, at the time I was okay with it.
If the worst draft day for the Vikings was 2013, the worst draft in the 2000s, the Vikings have done okay overall on draft day then. ..Except for THAT trade. Grr
LP, Muhlbach, Mannelly, Cox, Jennings, DeOssie, Dennings… after decency bias I start to draw a blank. I definitely don’t know any “historical” long snappers.
Sooooo in clicking through other videos I only now found out Jared Allen was deemed a Long Snapper prospect coming out of Idaho State and that he did snap in the NFL. That, to me, is nuts and makes him worthy of the best NFL long snapper ever ever. Also, forgot to mention Loeffler on my earlier reply.
Larry Fitzgerald Terrell Owens Calvin Johnson Steve Smith Steve Largent Randy Moss Andre Johnson Julio Jones Tim Brown Cris Carter Maybe something like this?
Mitchell Trubisky has a Winning record and as far as passer rating he is the best qb in bears history. He's the only qb with 0 pick 6s on him too. He was done dirty by Nagy who put his own ego over the team.
Nah, I'd say trading down in 2017 was probably a bigger mistake for the Packers, given that if they stayed put, they could've taken *TJ Watt*, who was taken one pick after the Packers' original selection. Love could still turn out to be a piece of the Packers' future, but passing on Watt for Kevin King is pretty indisputably bad, especially that they didn't exactly take a star with the extra pick they got in return either (Vince Biegel).
You know the worst part about the Trubisky trade? The fact that the 49ers were probably going to pick Solomon Thomas at #2 anyway, so the Bears didn't even *NEED* to trade up for him. And the picks the Bears traded away eventually ended up being Alvin Kamara and Fred Warner.
The Cardinals trading for Rosen wasn't bad as they didn't give up much and needed a QB. The worst draft trade had to be when they gave up the #2 pick in the 1998 to the chargers for the #3 and additional players and draft picks. The Cardinals came out like bandits but they made a bad pick selecting Andre Wadsworth instead of Charles Woodson and that set them back even more.
To be fair, Larry Johnson had two of the most productive years of any RB in history. And if you had ever faced a fantasy team with him as the RB, you'd remember that.
Atlanta's worst draft trade was actually their trade with the Chargers in 2001 to draft a man involved in dog fighting. On the flip side of the IND-ATL trade, Indy eventually traded Jeff George to the same team they traded to get him in the first place, and Jeff George SHOCKINGLY met the criteria necessary to turn the Atlanta 96 draft pick they owed to the Colts into a 1st round pick. Who did Indy use that pick on? None other than Marvin Harrison. So yeah, trading up for Jeff George did work out for the Colts, just not as expected, and in a way that would benefit them greatly a decade later.
Um, KiJana Carter injured his ACL in a preseason game in Detroit. He didn't play at all in 1995 for that very reason. It wasn't possible for him to be productive in his rookie season.
Still a bust. Had 4 years to prove himself deserving of the first pick. He was brought in to attempt to turn the Bengals into a playoff contender and he failed,.

As a Steeler fan, that trade was confusing AF 🤣 But hey, Eric Green was a very good TE. Our worst decision was not drafting Marino when we had the chance. Imagine that defense with Marino throwing the ball! They could have won at least 2 super bowls in the 90's.
The Seattle trade for the rights to Tony Dorsett was somewhat unfair. Seattle was an expansion team and they needed "plus" players at every position rather than one superstar. Both teams got what they wanted. Seattle was a far more competitive team after expansion than Tampa Bay was, in part because of this trade. No, I'm not a Seattle fan.

I still think the Jordan Love choice played out great. It lit a fire under ARod to the point he arguably had his best MVP season. This draft choice eliminated any "complacency" in Rodgers. Best draft pick since Baktiari

Any Tampa Bay Buc fan will tell you the worst Game Day trade was the 1982 Booker Reese fiasco. Because the draft day guy wrote Sean Farrell down and submitted the card pick before the main room back in Tampa could decide between Farrell or Reese, the Bucs draft room back in Tampa panicked and traded away their 1983 First Rounder in order to move up for Reese. Reese turned out to be a bust and the Bucs missed out on the Great QB draft of 1983 (they could have been in position to get Marino just as Doug Williams was leaving due to the owner's bad contract offers). The problem with draft day trades is the consensus is usually what pushes everything. You have 2-5 players that they are completely wrong as being good, and 2-5 they are wrong that as being bad.
