If the car maker (like Volvo) only offers SUV's as EV, then for sure people who wants a Volvo buys a SUV. But I would love to have a V60 or V90 as an EV. Look at Mercedes with the EQE and EQS or VW with ID.7, not everyone wants a big SUV and I'm pretty sure they sell a good amount of those cars
I do hope they keep the plug-in hybrids though. Such a car would be better for people like me that travel mostly long distance. I don't need a combustion engine in the city, in fact mostly no one needs a such. But I would need one to drive from Freiburg to Frankfurt at least once a month!
Polestar 2 “wagon”;would have suited me; better rear headroom, efficient storage, great handling, and if narrower, can be more efficient per km than an SUV with the same Cd. But no, I ended up having to choose between SUVs. Things will change in a few years

My test with my Volvo XC60 Plugin continue, I can say that every day is a surprice both for petrol engine and electric one. The "Power" mode is fantastic. I let you know how many Km my volvo will be able to travel in this special mode. I'm very curious to see the new EV60 but here, in Italy, the biggest problem is electric charging points and the cost of electricity. It's a shame. Anyway, Thom, as usual, you have done a great job with your videos. See you in the next video! Ciaooooo
I did question the control layout Volvo choose, but here in California, I have 5 or 6 co-workers driving Tesla Y & Model 3's. They adapted to the single LCD screen pretty quickly. A physical glovebox latch would be appreciated on EX30 I suppose!
Yes, when will the EX60 come? That is indeed the question. My C40 lease runs out in 20 months and I would love to replace it with an EX60.
I expect it will be one of the next 2 models they will reveal next year. So perhaps first one on the road in 2025… 🤔

I am looking at the V60 Recharge now because I love the look of it and the performance.
Do you honestly think they’ll do an electric wagon because I might wait if they are going to. Or will it be so long it might be a good idea to pick up the plug-in now?
I think so, but I expect it will take to at least 2025.
I know it’s probably not as good as the B&W offerings of course, but do you have any thoughts of it compared to the Harmon Kardon in the XC40/C40?
I feel like the HK from the 40 series is still better. I have the HK in my own C40 and really enjoy that and experience is to be better than the EX30 one.
You briefly mentioned an XC90 final facelift. Is there something expected for 2025? I wish they’d still offer the dark theme for it in the US.
The coming years Volvo will come with new models and updates each year. So plenty coming, e.g. the XC90 facelift
Imagine witnessing the entire industry engineer and design, and retool entire plants and lines for EV production, and still asking if giant global companies with a focus on sustainability will backtrack to internal combustion engines. Wow. 🤡
Realistically there are many issues with everyone going electric. There isn’t enough lithium, the processes for mining have to be scaled a lot to fit something like that, the energy needed for charging all of them is much more than we currently produce, etc. So it’s really a good question depending on how the mass adoption of EVs goes.
Recommending hybrids with an ICE is a very bad thing to do. #stopburningstuff now!
