- Probably the most common code causing a MIL/Check engine light on Chevy Equinox's. This is how I recommend diagnosing them non-intrusively. Thank you for Watching!
Nice job brother, the camera work at beginning got me sea sick lol. Nice job with the diagnostic process from scanner into scope. Looking foward to more videos.... Jay
Great video. Ty
What is the make and model of the oscilloscope you are using? Nice work on the diagnosis.
Picoscope 4425. Thank you
@@DiagnosticDennis , thanks and I will plug you on my next video to help get you a few more subscriber closer to 1000.
Great job. Good information.
Nice easy fix and test!
Nice one my man! Well done
90,000 2016 equinox, getting p0013 and p0014 codes. I was just going to change the exhaust solenoid to fix it, would recommend just changing both like you did?
I'm having a misfire after 20 min driver when stopped. Replaced everything possible. On your intake it's desired at 5? My intake desired at 16. Is mine off that bad
Cool and all to get your tools used , but just go and test the darn thing directly. Take it out first thing and apply power to see if it opens and closes. Can be about a 10 min diagnostic.
What is the reading supposed to be on the wires that connect to solenoid
5 volt reference
I have a 2015 Equinox. Code was reading P0014. Replaced the Camshaft solenoid. Engine still had tapping noise and airflow. Took to dealer and they say it’s the timing chain? Is this possible if the code reading was P0014?
From what I have read, yes. But I am not a car expert by any means.
The fact that it’s making a tapping noise is evidence that it could be a timing chain issue, paired with the fact that this is a pretty common issue with the Equinox.
Edit: “If the camshaft timing chain has jumped timing due to worn guides or tensioner failure, this can cause this code.”

I also have p0014 code in my 2013 equinox. Replaced both actuators and position sensor. Code came back couple days later. Was told by mechanic it needs timing chain replacement. There goes 2 grand
@@robertbauer1999 That’s exactly what mine was, timing chain. $2,000 + at dealership to get fixed with 2 year warranty. Equinox 2015 had 143k miles at the time. Had just paid off the vehicle 3 months prior to repair. Better to pay $2,000 than have another car payment. Good luck on yours
@@robertbauer1999 hello sir, what was at the end?
@@mtsanchez27 The dealership replaced many parts including timing chain kit, cam sprockets, vvt solenoids, and ECM but in the end the code always came back. The dealership ended up offering to buy the vehicle back at the same price I purchased it for so I took the deal. I advise people to stop buy any Chevy with the 2.4l engine. They are garbage. Thanks for the question!
Would that make your car stall
