Hi, I commented earlier about how you showed the DVM. I checked the solenoids on my wife’s car exactly the intake 22 and exhaust open. Picking up parts tomorrow. She is also getting new wipers and oil change. Thank you so much again.

Very well explained using a multi directional scanner to light the bulb.
How to test for voltage at the solenoid valve, if I just have a test light & a DVOM?
I'll be grateful for your reply. Thank you.

    • @KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair
      @KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair  Рік тому

@lloyd-qt1mg it might be hard for you to test the solenoid circuit without a capable scanner, you can connect the test light to the solenoid wiring and start the engine and see what happens

I wish you're in my state, I will take the car to you.
My Chevrolet Equinox 2010 had an Engine light on, and when diagnosed, the codes are below:
P0014 Exhaust Camshaft Position System Performance
    P0137 HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Sensor 2
The machanic told me If I don't fix, The car will consume more gas.
    My questions:
1)If I don't fix them, Will there be any damage to other parts of the car ?
    2) How long can I drive before I can afford to fix them?
    3) what are the costs to fix those two codes ?
    Thanks a bunch

Do I need to change the exhaust solenoid as well?.

Timing chain loose or broke most likely. These measures are great but it's fixing just the symptoms of the main problem. Oil burns way too fast, timing chain guide breaks and causes rough idling, stalling and leakage causing these sensors to take on more oil than they are spec to and call out codes for these parts. I think you should get an oil change for a couple times every 1k miles to check progress. Hopefully it's just tightening tension pulley and realigning timing chain before you blow a rod through the engine. This is the first stage.

hello I have code p0014 on my hyundai accent 2016. the check engine light is on the car consumes lot of fuel and car makes noise. I therefore changed the engine oil and the filters, the noise continues and the engine check is still present. I removed the two solenoides I tested with the multimeter 8.5 ohm each, it is good or not ? . the connectors also 9V each. I noticed that the two solenoide in their middle there is a filter but they are drilled, can the hole still create this anomaly? Thank you for answering me

    • @buddyevans8519

Bad fuel economy, burns oil 100% more, oil leakage will sometimes cause the guard holding time chain to break and loose timing chain, car stalls at stop, rough idles, "service stability" and "engine power reduced" errors, engine will end up knocking when too much oil is burnt.
