What if the Fallout TV Show sucks?

- I noticed that the comments section in my previous video were quite... divided. It got me thinking, what if the Fallout TV Show comes out and it's bad? Even though they might not be fully responsible, I think Bethesda would still end up getting dumped on.

Hot take: 90's video game movies, while bad, can still be entertaining.
It will. The creator already said they don't know or like fallout. This is the same thing that happened to Halo. The guy leading the story for Halo under 343 admitted to hating it and wanting to change everything.
Can you give me a link to the creator saying this?
Meh, I'm more into undeniably quality stuff. Can't waste my valued time seeing "so bad, it's good" nonsense like, argh, Zardoz and maybe the Austin Powers sequels.
There have also been cases of "so bad it's good" before.. ;)
The show is based on the West Coast so the likelihood of New Vegas getting a surge in sales is a decent prediction.
Honestly I would prefer that over Fallout 4 sales increasing.
Good old silver linings. The more people play and, at best, fall in love with 1, 2, and NV, the better.
Yea but the ncr didn’t show up in the trailer which makes me think Bethesda being Bethesda decide any lore that wasent there’s about is now not canon sooo
@@hashedpenguy9222they actually do twice, you can even see a clip with them in this video at 0:44
If? It's better to always presume it will be and lower your expectations! That way the cringe we always get wont surprise us. 😒
Wise decision.
Doom (2005) is a banging movie and I will die on that hill.
I'll give you this: The FPS scene is hilarious.
Goat movie
If only they kept the FPS formula.
My expectations are abysmally low anyway, so I'm certain not to be disappointed.
Well... There have been cases of: "My expectations were low but damn!"
@@PapitoQinn True, true
Oh, yeah, I still remember how the likes of Kill la Kill and Max Payne 3 surprised me so well.
Literally the worst show I’ve ever seen. I’m not a troll. I’m fair. It’s honestly that bad. Watch it for yourself if you haven’t. Let me know what you thought.
@@solidghost4525 the acolyte said "hold my beer" but yes the fallout series is GARBAGE
Rather it does or not I find it ironic that Christopher Nolan directed a movie about the creation of the Nuclear Bomb and his brother Nicholas Nolan is making a TV series based off of a game that's about the aftermath of multiple nuclear bombs
Let's not forget about the Borderlands film coming in August.
Too bad, I already forgot about it. =/
Too bad, not a fan of the games either for murdering poor Brothers in Arms and giving nasty Randy Pitchfork lots of moolah for his loli porn and power against poor Duke Nukem.
I'm trying to think of good adaptations you may have missed, but man, I'm struggling. 😅 resident evil 1 is a decent guilty pleasure, especially with such a small budget.
Ig i can sympathise with movie makers of adaptations. If they make a product too faithful, they've not added anything artistically and can be replaced by someone more ambitious. If they add something to the adaptation, they lose at making an adaptation. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
The first RE movie shouldn't be a guilty pleasure, for it really is quite a nice love letter to the original games of the series.
@@michaelandreipalon359I've not played RE. In what way does it remain faithful?
People said the same thing about the boys when Amazon was making it and it was fire same with invincible let just trust in Amazon studios for another banger
Hahaha this aged like milk left out in the Texas heat
I hope its good but if it sucks we still got the games... at least the older ones lol
Oh yes. I always say: Worst case scenario we ignore it and pretend like it never happened.
Precisely. Will never understand why people are still crying out on Halo being dead even when the Master Chief Collection is still fine and well on Steam/GOG, for one. Oversensitive ingrates who deserved being reassigned to the Arctic, they are.
"It wasnt made for the fans" so its guaranteed to be shit. Its also Bethesda's fallout, so you ca double just how shit it will be.I
it's not a what if scenario after looking at the t45 powe armor retcon flying like an ironman suit the show will suck and ppl that like to eat whatever slop they're spoonfed by hollywoood will like it like the witcher's show or halo series
If it sucks, don't worry. "Fanon Discontinuity" is a thing, and it helps lots against that non-Tactics Brotherhood of Steel game, 4, 76, and sometimes Tactics and 3 if one only deems the Western Seaboard stuff as canon.
I'll recommend Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie if one wants a real good video game movie. Helps that it's, at best, canon for that franchise. Oh, and the first Resident Evil movie isn't quite bad; rather, it neatly fits as a standalone sidestory for the game series... but I won't sing the same praise to its sequels.
Still, I'm more partial to movies lovingly based on video games like Wreck-It-Ralph, Edge of Tomorrow, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
2:28: When that gets delisted, I won't mourn. Ghost Recon 1+expansions for life!!!
If it surprisingly succeeds or not... I really would love to see an animated anthology sequel series for Wolfenstein: The New Order+The Old Blood, albeit it renders The New Colossus onwards as non-canon, since B.J. Blazkowicz was martyred by fire on Deathshead's Compound.
GOOD NEWS
It’s fine… if your deep into the lore you will be rather annoyed but overall it’s fine
Indeed, I made a follow up video going through it all. I agree that if you know a lot about the franchise and you nit pick, it can drive you insane. But it is a competently made show.
Hmm honestly half the trailer was good, but when the Brotherhood showed up I kinda lost interest. I a prefer to see the mc going around the surface, exploring the post-apocalypse.
Rest assured, it WILL suck.
Mos def
Not gonna watch until i am sure it's good.
How are you gonna do that unless you watch it?
It does suck, but the fans of the game love it.
I know if it sucks I won't watch
If it wasn't a franchise I want to cover than I would do the same. I give a show a shot. But if a few episodes in I'm not enjoying myself, than the only reasonable thing to do would be to stop watching it.
Still, I advise viewers to reach up to the end. Not even I stop reading books in a certain chapter regardless if the book's terrible, however unlikely I can read stuff like that.
It will suck 100%. Screencap this.
Nobody care
The huge advantage Fallout has over any VG adaptation is that there is no set story or characters that have to be in the show. Get the look right, get the tone right and get the lore writ large right and the writers are free to create their own original story. What we've seen from the trailers it looks like they got the look and tone right as for the lore and if it's a good story we'll find out in a month.
I mean i'm sure some fans would love direct references to iconic Fallout characters such as the Master, Mr. House, Harold, Rose of Sharon Cassidy, Joshua Graham, Arcade Gannon, the Legion, etc. so even if no specific character is expected to appear diehard fans will still be expectant of well thought out references and callbacks to some of the most impactful and memorable characters across the Fallout franchise.
@@javiervasquez625 FWIW actor Ravi Silver is listed as playing Robert House in 1 episode of the series. It could be meaningful to the story or just an easter egg for game fans and Robert House is used to help set up the Ghouls position in society compared to the truly powerful and wealthy in the before times.
@@killgoretrout9000 Cool here's to hoping other such iconic characters are also referenced to appease fans wishing to see more Fallout elements been shown for adaptational consistency's sake.
