@@coreyboisse7784 A true cornball reply. You don’t need a “source” for ppl saying how they feel, whether it’s true or not baby boy.
i think they want to see the whole thing and why he said it@@DominiqueEugene-m7k
RIP Mako, this song is actually about his time serving
Iroh was basically singing it to himself because the original voice actor passed away. This was his last episode he voiced🥺
@@Daniel-dh4hh Well there are a few episodes with Mako’s voice in it after this.
@@TheOriginalDogass this episode was made after the season was done because mako (the voice actor) knew he was dying.
Mako is reincarnated in LOK, as a heartbreaker
@@burdengaming4491 as far as I know, these are the last lines Mako ever recorded due to his throat cancer, and sometimes in the song when he breaks down is because of it
Can't help but always feel bad for Uncle Iroh. I know that he is a fictional character, but he is such a caring person throughout the whole show
We all need to be a little more like Uncle Iroh. The world would be such a wonderful place.
Man what would do to have such an influence in my life. I wish I had that kind of loving guidance
Exactly why he part of the White Lotus...where they don't believe in boundaries.
Real or fictional No parent should out live their children
His actor died in real life and this episode was his goodbye
He wasn't saying "Goodbye!" to his son!
He was saying "Goodbye!" to all of us :(
Yes he was. And he did it beautifully
Marko did the best of uncle iroh too is sad see him go
Uncle iroh is about to die
I know all about it
That hit me right in the feels
He wasn’t just saying goodbye to Mako, but to us😭😭
Mako isn't Irohs son. Mako is the VA for Iroh. These were his last recorded lines for ATLA.
There is so much raw emotion coming from Mako, but it’s so painful to hear him cry that I end up crying as well
He knew he didn't have much time left because he was sick....it's sad but so beautiful
Rip Iroh and IRL
RIP Mako
May the seasons of love guide you to peace

It’s heartbreaking to know Mako was actually crying singing this..
It hurts so much. Much love to him ✊️

This scene is why ATLA universe is superior! It's filled with laughter, jokes, action, fighting, drama, and all sorts of lovely genres, but the fact that it can also make you tear up and touch your heart, is what makes this show beautiful! 😍🥰🤩

Really makes you think. Iroh had a son lost in the battle of ba singh se. How many died in that battle? How many have died just trying to do as their fathers and heros asked them to do to make them proud? How many iroh's will we never get to see weep the loss of war? Such a beautiful demonstration of how there are no winners in a fight, only fewer tears for one side.
I feel like so many people forget about Iroh’s past as a war general, when it’s so integral to his character development.
This isn’t what I needed to start my Wednesday 😢 but I do love this song and this episode.

I love Iroh's part in this episode and Sokka's part but the rest of the episode I just don't care about at all
@@dmr14wizkid14 Zuko's story is cool though. Way better than Sokka's to me, I think Sokka had the weakest one by far.
2024....It started my Wednesday today
RIP mako you were amazing as uncle iroh and this show is amazing
Iroh reminds me of my best friend he is the most caring person i have ever known when he was 18, and i was 17 he always guided me through the roughest times in my life. He's like an older brother to me. Now im 23, and he is forever 18. Thank you for being my best friend brody.
18/7/2000 - 10/8/2018
Rest in peace brody i love you and miss you everyday :-)
I’m sorry for your loss…
Mako the voice actor singing to himself before his passing hits even harder.
Helps a boy stop crying with the same song as a happy version, then he sings the song for his son alone and it shows the true meaning of the song.. just shows how even through his happy times he is a secret sufferer. RIP Mako 😢
When you realize zuko is gonna be singing this to uncle iroh…
Oh no you didn't!!!!!!😭😭😭
HOW DARE YOU HURT MY FEELINGS LIKE THIS?!
@@PancakeNation my bad bro
why 😭😭
This made me cry
The moment everyone cried and didn't mock each other about it for being a baby.
EVERY...SINGLE...TIMES i see Hiro mourning his son, i can't help myself to cry with him... I believe his voice actor felt the same way...
who is Hiro, oh i just realised you meant Iroh.
Can't watch without sheding tears
Literally went into this thinkin I wasn't but ay Uncle Iroh has tht affect
😢 Same here.
When I was younger I enjoyed neo I'm older now I understand its gets me up in my feelings 😭
When you realize that in this episode, he helps a baby/toddler, young children, and then a young man, but not anyone older because his son never reached that stage of life ☹️🥺
Bro I’d be hugging him so hard.
Stop ripping our hearts out. It’s still morning. To be fair, I expected to cry when I clicked on this video.
Facts
I've gotta say this is the second saddest moment in the show and probably ever
@@JimScott-e9nSecond? What is the first?

Imagine this: A grown man sitting down to watch this episode for the first time, coming to this scene and just bawling his eyes out. That was me. I still cry every time I hear this.
The performance that Mako gives is emotional and great. But I think another layer of why people cry is because this was his last performance as Iroh for the series.
I think people cry because this is just heartbreaking watching a character that's been so chill the entire series and is suddenly crying after losing his son💔💔

Yea I cry every time this scene hits and think “rip to both of them”
Rip mako. Thanks for making al our childhoods better
The fact that i was crying in this episode even when Iroh sing it in the happy way for the kid because i understand the meaning of it.
Rest In Peace Mako, you will never be forgotten
Im glad i grew up knowing uncle Iroh, i keep thinking back to his nuggets of wisdom even to this day . I aspire to be like him . This scene still tears me up decades later. Such a great character.
bro i’m actually crying i love uncle iroh 😭
If this doesn't bring tears to your eyes, I renounce you as a human.
Being human is overrated
Years later and this is still breaking people
I'm already crying even before the singing starts 😢 😭
This is a short... it is not even a minute... and i'm already crying
If you didnt cry at this moment you have no feelings
Thank you mako for makeing a wonderful character that to this day is very loved by the community, this really made me cry for a bit. Thank you for makeing a character that reminds me of my uncle R.I.P uncle p 1959-2020
No one can watch this without shedding tears
This is one of the saddest scenes in the avatar the last airbainder 🥺 it always makes me cry
I’ve never watched the show…. But wow that short of uncle Iroh singing that part really hits… I lost my dad as a kid and it takes me back to that time where I lost my dad. Amazing as a cartoon to capture that feeling but it’s there. The pain is real….. I feel what uncle Iroh feels.😊
Its more than that uncle iroh is the best and this is very heart breaking for such a wholesome character but this is also the voice actors last episode this was his goodbye he knew he was dieing and even according to the 2nd voice actor and all the other co workers mako(which if it went a few more seconds you'd see the in memory of mako) the one voicing this was alot like uncle iroh and the 2nd voice actor refuses to sing out of repect never misses the chance to bring up mako even in fan signings
You should definitely watch the series if you get a chance!
Thank you for sharing your comment and story ❤
and suddenly all the fire in his eyes became an unstoppable waterfall...
This was by far the most emotional moment in ATLA, or probably the most emotional moment ever.
The fact this was the last thing Mako recorded before he sadly passed makes the song so much more special
Fly high 🕊️
Bro this made me cry its such a wholesome moment and iroh barely cries
Saddest moment in History
Listened to this song on repeat yesterday and cried, Iroh is the best character in Avatar, thank you for the beautiful memories ❤
“You dare to suggest that I betray Iroh? My First born?! Even AFTER THE DEMISE OF HIS ONLY BELOVED SON!?!! I think Iroh’s Suffered enough! But you - YOUR PUNISHMENT HAS SCARCELY BEGUN!!!!” 😡😡😡😡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rest in peace, mako.
Thank you for being an uncle to us all. 😔

This is my favorite scene on the ATLA 😢😢😢😢
Listening to the vocals thinking about what mako was dealing with while singing this hits the hardest
Rip Miko this is the first and maybe only thing on a television show that made me cry other than when onng was produced
I just love this so much 😭😭😭
Never fails to make me cry
This is still something that gives me literal chills whenever I hear it.
"One more short before bed."
The short:
I rewatched this episode today and I cryed my eyes out🥺😢
Literally my favorite character ever written and a great voice
This is one of the only things I've ever cried too. 😭
His son would have been an out standing man. One that would have been pure and kind like his father.
I cried like a baby when I first saw this episode when it release. The joys of being 30... grew up with some of the best moments of our time.... sorry to those who have lost loved ones. My the universe show them dignity and peace. We are all star dust. Born together and ending together ❤️
While a lovely idea, it's heavily implied that his son's death changed him. He began to see the war for what it really was, and started evolving into the person we know and love, while before, he was more harsh and controlling. A general of a war, through and through.
We don't have all the details, of course, but I think the idea that losing his son allowed him to see the darkness he was spreading... makes it a lot deeper, and makes me love him even more.
Iroh uses his son to keep helping others 😢
We wish you well Mako, thank you for lending your voice, old friend
Iroh didn't deserve to be this sad!! 😢😢😢
i cannot watch this scene without crying, ive seen it so many times now
Years later and I still can’t waterbend my tears
This is the only thing that can make a grown man cry😢
“Leaves from the vine” 😢
this is the part i cried the most
i remember that scene its one of the most sadest or the sadest scene in the entire history of the show
Still enjoying this song
Same
if you put this song on in a room full of avatar fans, they will most likely all cry
This song honestly means a lot to me rn cuz I just lost a family member recently and this helped me get through the pain.
This episode was beautiful 🥲❤
This show managed to give children an animated show with funny aspects combined with sort of real life drama that could be fully understood by audiences of all ages. This is one for the history books.
While not nearly as masterful, Friendship is Magic managed to do so, as well. Plus it's overflowing with epic music... I've seen multiple UA-camrs "reacting to pony songs" and after a couple of those, they're interested in watching the show because they want context, and they want MORE.
One of the most gracious scenes ever.
One of the most touching moments with uncle iroh...
In honor of Mako. We miss you.
The "If only I could have helped you" literally broke me, if the first time we see him vulnerable like this
Hey, I was having a great day until now...
I think this is the most perfect episode of television ever made.
I WAS SINGING THIS LAST NIGHT AND I WOKE UP CRYING😭😭

@@HamserV2 that’s what made it even sadder
"Brave soldier boy, comes marching home" those words, coming from a father who lost his son to a war he so keenly took part in, has to be on the saddest thing in this whole series to me.
This was the first scene that made me break down after 3 years.
STOP!! Me and my sister watched this episode again yesterday for fun, and we almost cried at this part 😭😭😭😭😭
I cant watch this without shedding a tear 😢❤️
There hasn't been a time I've seen this and I haven't gotten emotional... such a beautiful being Iroh is.
