Always loved the confrontations with Zhao. "So this is a General, *disgraceful."* "Whatever you do to that spirit, I'll unleash on you tenfold, *let it go now!"* You can feel the moment when he stops being Uncle Iroh and turns into Dragon Iroh.
it’s because he does, he knows how it interacts with the real world and spirit world, how it changes you and how it can hurt you if you don’t understand what you’re truly doing…
I think it’s because iroh as a white lotus understands and appreciates the other forms of bending. Each style has a certain flow state and movement system to it. Fire and earth are very violent and at times linear where as water and air are more circular/angular fluid motions. Fire and earth normally stand their ground or out right push forward in many of their attack and defense where as water and air usually dodge, redirect or absorb and dissipate attacks. If you notice at times, iroh doesn’t necessarily get as animated in his stances and switches like water and air benders, but he has subtle movements that show he has adapted to the art of redirection and misdirection in his offense and defense much like another style of bending. Katara is another prodigy in that aspect being she displays very earth bender style bending with water at times by standing her ground and pushing forward. Which makes sense as she has a bond with Toph and being around her so long. This show has so many layers and each one has so much depth. The care, detail and respect they had for the martial arts each style was based off of, how they interact and showing the strongest users were the most versatile users. It goes back to the philosophy of Bruce Lee that the most effective style is to have no style but be adaptable to everything.
Hearing Iroh actually mad is scary. "There are three things all wise men fear. The sea in storm, a night with no moon. And the anger of a gentle man" -Patrick Rothfuss

He intercepted Zhao's attack, full-strength, with no fire of his own, just a knowledge of how to block and dissipate. That's a more powerful move than most bending throughout the entire show.

let's be real here
Iroh would be an amazing avatar by far because he understands the delicate balance of all four elements and understands the philosophy behind each and every element
I love how, even as early as the third episode, Iroh demonstrates how powerful he is, although it's hard to comprehend without knowing the full ATLA story. He intercepted Zhao's attack, full-strength, with no fire of his own, just a knowledge of how to block and dissipate. That's a more powerful move than most bending throughout the entire show.
Uncle was no human he was a born Avatar in his only world
i like how zhao gets terrified of how powerful Iroh really is, he probably thought age was getting to him at this point since he was out of shape, but he just makes easy work of all of them
2:57 how do you break metal chains with your heel???
Steel-heeled shoes?
Raw strength, plot armor and bones stronger than steel.
I KNOW RIGHT I WAS LIKE WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT IT
I always ask that question every time I see it. My conclusion is "it's a cartoon it doesn't have to make sense"
Iroh was fighting in a towel did we forget this???
I love how when Zuko saved him from the Earthbenders, Iroh did use his fire. Beastmode
the push kick to the chest he gave azula was built up tears to come
"Thanks again for the tea. It was delicious." Hard as brick
is nobody going to acknowledge that he just one shotted the wall of ba sing se. it took a months for the army to fail trying. and he did it in an instant
yeah he did it with bunch of master which is 1 of them equal to 100 soldier, sozin comet give him a boost
@@haikalfauzee2870he one hitted the wall by himself, the taking over part was with the help of the other white lotus
that random boulder zuko stops from crushing irohs hands is still one of the wildest strength feats in this show. there was no bending assist, he just completely changes the momentum of a probably 400 kilo falling rock with a flying kick. that's like parrying a honda civic
Iroh is easily the most skilled bender in his element and probably of all. Ozai, Azula, even Aang are very strong but Iroh has put in years upon years of mastering his craft. Not just abusing it but innovating and inventing new techniques. He’s a true master at his craft
3:04 best line
Iroh was the best written character in the show
4:05 Whatever you do to that spirit, I'll unleash on you tenfold! LET IT GO NOW!
