What happened? -Both Iroh and Ozai were raised by the same abusive father, Azulon: Azulon favoured Iroh and mistreated Ozai....although Iroh was being abused, just in a different kind of way: Azulon, by abusing Ozai, he was telling Iroh: "This is what it's going to happen to you if you dissapoint me." -Ozai allowed his obsession with being acknowledged by his father to corrupt and poison his mind. Ozai is the most powerful firebender in the series as confirmed by the creators(this includes Iroh,Azulon,Sozin,end of series Azula&Zuko),he has more 1v1 experience by always participating in Agni Kais (while Iroh has more army experience) and is ruthless and will not hesitate to kill unlike Iroh. Ozai is also younger and physically better,Irohs only shot would be to redirect lightning at him and its possible he wouldnt try firing lightning at Iroh like he did with Zuko and Aang Ozai is also a master manipulator and even if he was weaker he would use Irohs emotions and their childhood memories against him,Ozai is also acedemically smarter. Iroh is very very powerful,ridiculously knowledgable&wise and very skilled in martial arts but he cant beat Ozai unless he gets lucky
He truly is my favourite character in all of Avatar. Not only is he in my opinion the best firebender, he is a man who experienced so much in life that he learned from all of it to teach others to not make mistakes that cost them. And the fact that he can be fun and can enjoy life after the loss of his son alone is something to admire.
I think this one line sums up Zuko and Azula perfectly "He gave Zuko a knife which became very important to him, and he gave Azula a doll, which she burned immediately".
I would love a prequal of Iroh before his son died to see how different he was. He wasn’t full on evil like his brother, but he would be willing to do brutal acts to achieve his goals. If Ba Sing Se would of surrendered he probably would of treated the inhabitants with respect and dignity, but he was definitely willing to kill them all if they didn’t surrender.

He is one of the nicest people you know and often underestimated because of that. Then, like the prison guard realized, he is much more than that. Ozai is the most powerful firebender in the series as confirmed by the creators(this includes Iroh,Azulon,Sozin,end of series Azula&Zuko),he has more 1v1 experience by always participating in Agni Kais (while Iroh has more army experience) and is ruthless and will not hesitate to kill unlike Iroh.
Ozai is also younger and physically better,Irohs only shot would be to redirect lightning at him and its possible he wouldnt try firing lightning at Iroh like he did with Zuko and Aang
Ozai is also a master manipulator and even if he was weaker he would use Irohs emotions and their childhood memories against him,Ozai is also acedemically smarter.
Iroh is very very powerful,ridiculously knowledgable&wise and very skilled in martial arts but he cant beat Ozai unless he gets lucky

He truly is my favourite character in all of Avatar.
Not only is he in my opinion the best firebender, he is a man who experienced so much in life that he learned from all of it to teach others to not make mistakes that cost them.

I would love a prequal of Iroh before his son died to see how different he was. He wasn’t full on evil like his brother, but he would be willing to do brutal acts to achieve his goals. If Ba Sing Se would of surrendered he probably would of treated the inhabitants with respect and dignity, but he was definitely willing to kill them all if they didn’t surrender.
