Seeing Iroh cry actually really broke my heart man that shit was so sad for me I actually cried with him because that’s the first time I’ve seen him cry...
I feel like he’d believe everyone has their own unique selves, as he always encouraged Zuko to find out his own destiny instead of one put upon him against his will.
I still can't understand how Iroh turned out be such a kind, loving, caring & and benevolent man while his brother became cruel, hateful, loveless, malevolent being... I always wondered just what the heck happened in their childhood that made them so different from one another...
What happened? -Both Iroh and Ozai were raised by the same abusive father, Azulon: Azulon favoured Iroh and mistreated Ozai....although Iroh was being abused, just in a different kind of way: Azulon, by abusing Ozai, he was telling Iroh: "This is what it's going to happen to you if you dissapoint me." -Ozai allowed his obsession with being acknowledged by his father to corrupt and poison his mind. It doesn't look like it, but Ozai doesn't believe in himself and never earned anything he received, all he did was stealing it from others.
Iroh could easily become a villain but instead he realized that violence would leave him nowhere.Instead he decided to help others in need and tried to bring the best outta of people and that's why he will always be one of the the greatest character's in cartoon history(my opinion)
*Zuko and Iroh drinking tea* Iroh: To create lightning, you must calm your mind. Zuko: I see. That is why we are drinking tea. Iroh: OH YEAH, GOOD POINT! I mean... Yes exactly.
God he was the best character, he taught me to always be kind to others and that peace can always be a option. It made me tear up when they said he die.
When zoku was still avatar obsessed he was the villian then after he lost his ship crew and everything else he was then humbled afterwards Since the beginning iroh was the lovable side character that would come in when someone needed help

I like to think that Iroh was once captured by waterbenders, and while tied up, he watched them train/use waterbending, leading to him developing the Redirect Lightning technique. Learning this, in combination with his spiritual personality, i like to think that led him down to seek out the dragons, and learn more about balance.
@@abedisgod but then there would another tyrant who would rise to power in the future, in the last season iroh explains that it has to be the avatar otherwise history will see it as a brother trying to gain more power
@@gevnes7999 Still, he wasn't that bad of a person in private. At least, not like Ozai. He cared deeply about his son and everyone else. The only mistake of his, which was horrible, was the siege of Ba Sing Se. But, indeed, we don't know how he would've evolved had he become the Fire Lord instead of Ozai. Or maybe Ozai would have killed him to get the throne.
I found it pretty fitting that when they needed a character to demonstrate the super powered fire bending from Sozen’s Comet. They didn’t choose Ozai or Azula, or even Zuko or Ang they chose Iroh to fire the first shot of Comet Fueled fire, not in an attempt to destroy the earth Kingdom but to save it.
Iroh is legendary. Even after he died, he got to live on. I'd like to think that's truly eternal life and the Greatest gift to a soul that was truly good.

If Ba Sing Se would of surrendered he probably would of treated the inhabitants with respect and dignity, but he was definitely willing to kill them all if they didn’t surrender.

You forgot to mention that the reason Iroh wanted to capture Ba Sing Se wasn't because it was a personal dream of his but a literal premonition he had of him taking the city. He later realize that the true meaning of this premonition wasn't that he would take the city for the Fire Nation but that he would retake the city for the Earth Kingdom.

Its enough to make a grown man cry
SpikedPuddingStudios not to mention the death of his voice actor Mako
I still can't understand how Iroh turned out be such a kind, loving, caring & and benevolent man while his brother became cruel, hateful, loveless, malevolent being... I always wondered just what the heck happened in their childhood that made them so different from one another...
Same honestly
What happened?
-Both Iroh and Ozai were raised by the same abusive father, Azulon: Azulon favoured Iroh and mistreated Ozai....although Iroh was being abused, just in a different kind of way: Azulon, by abusing Ozai, he was telling Iroh: "This is what it's going to happen to you if you dissapoint me."
-Ozai allowed his obsession with being acknowledged by his father to corrupt and poison his mind. It doesn't look like it, but Ozai doesn't believe in himself and never earned anything he received, all he did was stealing it from others.
@@jorgebersabe293 also I think that Ozai saw himself in Azula and continiued to teach her his ways

When I found out Iroh was the grandchild to Sozin, and a brother to Ozai, I just could NOT believe such a saint could come from that bloodline.

I like to think that Iroh was once captured by waterbenders, and while tied up, he watched them train/use waterbending, leading to him developing the Redirect Lightning technique. Learning this, in combination with his spiritual personality, i like to think that led him down to seek out the dragons, and learn more about balance.

@@gevnes7999 Still, he wasn't that bad of a person in private. At least, not like Ozai. He cared deeply about his son and everyone else. I found it pretty fitting that when they needed a character to demonstrate the super powered fire bending from Sozen’s Comet. It’s incredibly surprising to know that the writers originally planned for Iroh to betray Zuko at the end. I can’t even imagine that happening.
Is there an interview where I can learn more about this?

You're making me tearbend
You forgot to mention that the reason Iroh wanted to capture Ba Sing Se wasn't because it was a personal dream of his but a literal premonition he had of him taking the city. He later realize that the true meaning of this premonition wasn't that he would take the city for the Fire Nation but that he would retake the city for the Earth Kingdom.
He truly is my favourite character in all of Avatar.
Not only is he in my opinion the best firebender, he is a man who experienced so much in life that he learned from all of it to teach others to not make mistakes that cost them.
And the fact that he can be fun and can enjoy life after the loss of his son alone is something to admire.
