I was 16 years old when I first saw this and I absolutely loved it and now I can watch it all over again which brings back so many memories thank you to you tube for showing it
@@judithbormann6288 I don't care for either character...Alison nor Betty. It's like each is the extreme opposite of the other. Good girl...bad girl. It's a shame there weren't any female characters in that town whose personality was between the two extremes.
True...but I'm surprised that Alison had the fortitude to offer any congratulations at all to the bride or groom because her character is so goody-goody, I thought she'd fall apart at the news of Rodney's marriage to Betty.
Could a lady a mother like Constance, have lived without as presented. Without companionship, love? Today the young can’t conceive of such. The then reality. Indeed many did
Yes, now it's expected that a young girl gives up her virginity, like it's a curse to be innocent. I can't imagine the emotional & mental stress of being sexually active at such a young age, no wonder there's so much mental illness now.
The actress Mary Anderson looks familiar...I wonder if she was in any other TV shows. I already recognized the blond nurse at the Doctor's Hospital where Betty was admitted as the actress who played Goober's girl on the Andy Griffith Show.
@@TaDarling1 I watched an old movie the other night, Whispering City, with Mary Anderson. The movie was a crime drama made in 1947. She was very pretty and quite a good actress.
@Emma James.....LOL! You expressed my sentiments perfectly! I have been calling them 'fur coats.' Whatever kind of glue they used must've made them even more uncomfortable!
Not sure Betty's thought this thing through. How long before she should start showing? And then what - a fake miscarriage? With fake doctor visits? She must just hope that Rodney will magically fall in love with her, and not care about any baby. Good luck Betty!!
Convoluted thinking it’s a journey towards deception and loss, even if the desired effect is achieved. Somewhere down the line payment for some payment in full.
The lack of moral character of the Mrs. Harrington character isn't surprising to me. As a 'Peyton', it stands to reason she'd be a 'super snob' and carry herself as though she's above everyone else in the town.
this appears to be the mentality of this time..watching this and other shows of this time (and into the 70s), now, it stands out like the proverbial sore thumb, and i can't believe ''things'' were actually like this: the man barks and the woman capitulates commensurately..yeesh...Julie Anderson staying anywhere near George really gets under my skin..besides, i'm used to seeing Henry Beckman in comedic roles - not as an abusive, insecure jagoff....
Danny Hill It was more than “appearance:” That was Reality in those days. The *socially* accepted roles were extremely rigid, very black and white. The other Reality is under the respectable veneers/roles? Mon Dieu, humans haven’t changed particularly but the veneers have worn off considerably!
So.. Laura working in the Dr.’s office will know of Betty’s miscarriage? Between the small town factor & those that know the truth I wonder how long this storyline will be…
TaDarling1 Dem false eyelashes, ohdeargawd they’re like the remnants of the dog clippings at a pet grooming shop at the end of the day glued on black construction paper!
Any time someone wants to avoid conflict in this show they just blame their actions on being tired. This is the sleepiest bunch of characters I've ever seen. Lol

You're welcome (and enjoy!)
In 1964 I was 8 years old and my mother watched this & loved it. Thanks to youtube now I can watch!
I was 5 and watched it with my Mother 😅Shame . Shame.Shame❣️😅🤣😂
Thanks so much SoapsNThings for posting these episodes. I can't get anything done now. Hook, line and sinker I am. ;)
+DeetheBee's It IS addictive, isn't it? LOL
Watched this show years ago, thought Allison
was a pain then and still do.. Much prefer Betty...

TaDarling1 Yeah, such extremes for sure. In those times women were regarded as Madonna or Whores, nothing in between.
It. Was. Awful.
@@tundrawomansays5067 You are one way or the other. There's nothing in the middle.
Constance is the only person who gave the bride a proper blessing. You give best wishes to the Bride, and congratulations to the Groom.
True...but I'm surprised that Alison had the fortitude to offer any congratulations at all to the bride or groom because her character is so goody-goody, I thought she'd fall apart at the news of Rodney's marriage to Betty.
Dr. Rossi also gave best wishes to Betty.

The sooner Betty tells Rod she "lost" the baby the sooner Rod can file for an ANNULMENT. A marriage committed under FALSE PRETENSES is doomed!
Agree!
Yeah but he'll come to regret it later especially after Betty moves on.
Mary Anderson (Catherine Peyton Harrington) lived to the ripe old age of 96, passing in 2014....
The actress Mary Anderson looks familiar...I wonder if she was in any other TV shows. I already recognized the blond nurse at the Doctor's Hospital where Betty was admitted as the actress who played Goober's girl on the Andy Griffith Show.
@@TaDarling1she appeared in movies in the 1940s...one was Lifeboat-a real good movie!!!!
I love Catherine's sarcastic remarks made with such elegance. Kinda like a female George Sanders.

Norman is such a sweetheart.
Dr Rossi... he's living my dream life
interesting women left, right, and center
Cathy to Norm : why should you Betty is just going😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
I don’t know....Connie seems to be old enough to be Mike’s mother. Maybe it’s just those caterpillars she has glued to her eyelids.
@Emma James.....LOL! You expressed my sentiments perfectly! I have been calling them 'fur coats.' Whatever kind of glue they used must've made them even more uncomfortable!
Connie was 40 when this was made. Ed was 36.
Caterpillar 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Women looked older then, thank goodness we look younger these days!
Betty is playing the blame game.

A woman was murdered. And the secrets will start to come out. ;-)
Roll on, can’t wait!
I always wondered if Mary Anderson left the series on our own accord
I meant her own accord
Ok so Catherine was cold to Betty. But she was pleasant and at least didnt throw her out of the room
george encouraging her to lie ..just so, he can get back at the harringtons.. b/c hes jealous.
Betty lying just to hook Rod. Who wants a man if you have to get him that way!
@@denisewells4161 Yes, she made a mistake and will learn from it.
Connie looks like she bought her eyelashes from the Fuller Brush Man.
I love Betty, regardless... she did a foolish thing, my goodness nobody's perfect.

The Mrs Harrington character is a marginal human being that is apparent has no moral character from later episodes of PP
The lack of moral character of the Mrs. Harrington character isn't surprising to me. As a 'Peyton', it stands to reason she'd be a 'super snob' and carry herself as though she's above everyone else in the town.
Yes, and she has the nerve to judge Betty.

WHERE IS MARTIN PEYTON?
He doesn't come to Peyton Place until Episode 151. Then things really get good.
Her false lashes are stuck on like carpet!
So.. Laura working in the Dr.’s office will know of Betty’s miscarriage? Between the small town factor & those that know the truth I wonder how long this storyline will be…
Connie is so over dramatic with her expressions and it looks like her eyelashes are about to fall off.
So true, and the drama doesn't even to be about her. She reacts dramatically to everything...

Who remembers Dorothy Malone was in Basic Instinct?

It’s always worked for me.
Connie McKenzie bugs me
She annoys me too.😅
