In my eyes John is an absolute God when it comes to Patek Philippe knowledge, scholarship and passion. Really respect him as a person too. Well done guys!
A good honest true collector , wise and great words . The current modern boom is lunacy at its finest and rarely do we see or get good honest passionate interviews on collecting and watches for what they are and should be these days as most platforms conform to the inflated norms of today . More of such true ones please , absolutely enjoyed the entire interview great on all parts . Kudos Chrono24 👍👍👍
@@Chrono24Official at the least I'd expect a PP Beta 21 ref 3597 and possibly a PP ref 1483. I'll think about what else might be in the collection. My gut is the bulk of his collection is 70s vintage PP with a few surprises.
I really like his thinking I have friends who spend a lot on watches and when I see something really cool on eBay or some other site and I purchase it , they always say to me cool watch that’s really nice and when I tell them how much it cost and where I purchased it from they can’t believe it buy what you like not what’s hot on the market
Such a Fantastic human being and a great conversation, one thing i do love the most is to not follow the trend, the story and emotion of the timepiece is what important.
Great video...really enjoyed ...this is watch collecting.....john is amazing ...so nice , sincere and knowledgeable and true watch aficionado.....several years ago when he was with patek he called on the nj AD that helped me get two 5711 a 5712 and aquanot , gondola all of which are still in my collection today
Great video and also I respect a lot that he is collecting long case clocks, as he say it’s not much interested on that kind of clocks today I have one from Hermle beautiful long case clock and 2 mantle clocks here at my house, and I love it.
Great interview of a person who I believe to be a true watch passionate person. *Online market manipulation* , is indeed the biggest failure that has happened to our hobby.
The strongest fact is ‘quartz powered watches’ are also beloved. I wear one of my collection with much joy. This is important too: Even Patek made quartz watches, so why not accepting quartz? I want a few more, and at some minor details, an Oyster quartz i want to inspect. A Bulova accutron with nice green print plate details is what i like to look at. A G-Shock, it is so long ago i wear one. I am curious what that whats shall do now on my wrist. Grails are always fun to talk about. A little secret, a grail have not to be out of reach. A rare affordable long wished watch is a pleasure when the day comes you stay eye to eye with the watch. I have found one great watch on CH24, another one was long on the platform before it sold. I never forget that JD. Another rare bird i saw which brought me over the moon was a pre version of Piagets altiplano. I saved the ref, so i can restart the hunt at any time i want. Great hobby.
could you do a review of a watch sometime. The Jaeger master control "sector"? I can't find any online and saw an article on the Hodinkee website. It is the prettiest/classiest watch these tired old eyes have ever seen.
Is it just me, but does Thomas Hendricks resemble the Canadian actor John Reardon, who happens to share the same name as John Reardon of Christies and Sotheby's?
Valid points! GQ reported that the watch was bought and gifted in NY, possibly from Tiffany. Hopefully someday we will know the whole story and learn if there is an American side of the story. Fingers crossed!
He contradicts himself about not buying a watch to know how much it's worth in the future. Prior to that he mentioned if you buy a watch have an exit strategy just in case you want to sell it well that strategy is based upon what you think it's worth in the future duh. And this guy worked for an auction house in the past. So you think those people were selling their watches for the fun of it? This guy doesn't make sense to me.
There's nothing impressive about a watch collection that you don't show. 34min video. Open watch case in 33rd min only to show watches from afar for 5 seconds (and can see nothing) and then 10 seconds with one watch. That was stupid
Sorry Chrono 24 but you just lost a viewer. Why on earth would you have 35 minutes with NO watch collection. Wwwwwhhhhhyyyyy? At least if you post a two part like this post both parts at the same time, this is UA-cam not TV; we want the title to match the content, otherwise you are wasting our time. Thumbs down, not subscribing, not watching part 2.
What a complete farce, John Reardon comes with a suitcase filled with watches a you choose to show one for ten seconds! I immediately unsubscribed to your channel, thanks for nothing.
He is so eloquent with his stories, We need much more with him. Full discussions, thoughts and history
Thank you! Definitely more stories to tell ;)
Sweet. 34 minutes and not 1 shot of a watch until the last 30 seconds. ….
Ah, I could listen to John all day long. Brilliant communicator and his passion for timepieces just shines through.
Thanks for watching! Watch out for part 2 then ;)
Wow, thank you Michael!
The glow and enthusiasm on John... He is a true enthusiast and the passion for timepieces is so obvious. Such a positive human!!!!
In my eyes John is an absolute God when it comes to Patek Philippe knowledge, scholarship and passion. Really respect him as a person too. Well done guys!
Thanks for checking out!
I’m guessing Part 2 will involve the reveal and discussion of the briefcase contents.
How about that briefcase though?? 🔥🔥🔥
for 34mins: "WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!"
As always a great pleasure to watch Joh's passion for Patek, you are a legend!
John is the most genuine watch dealer I know. Such a gem 👌
Your best video to date, would be great to have more in this format
Thank you Jérémy! We'll do that!

This video is about the people with the deep passion on horology, to watch till the end. And looking forward to jump in part 2.
Thanks for watching!
Came here to see “inside an impressive watch collection”… hoping there’s a part 2z
Yes! Thanks for checking out part 1 already!
John absolutely nails it. He’s a true OG
Watch guy and Marathon runner, good combination. Very cool video, relaxed talk.
“A grand complication” is an absolutely amazing book
great video, already looking forward to part 2! good job guys :)
See you there! ;)
Cool, nice to hear John talk about his passion & I'll tune in for part 2 where we get to see some of his collection.
See you soon ;)!
Any further guesses what watches he collected?

Great Q and A. look forward to part 2. Thank you!
Thanks!
Amazing watch talk! My hat off to John Reardon. Looking forward to part 2. Thx
See you soon! ;)
Spoiler alert, the blue case is just a tease
What do you think will be in there...? Any guesses when it comes to his collection?

Wow. For them to treat John like that is sad. But for him to be a Man and keep going ?! My guy. You’re awesome.
Great interview, great video. John is an avid collector.
More like "Intro to an Impressive Watch Collection..." lol
Well... the "main part" will follow ;)

The click bait briefcase/title is criminal
Keepers, flippers, accumulators & treasure hunters…..interesting…happy collecting 🤔

What’s in the boxxx?
His lunch I’m guessing...
Half an hour of talking and not revealing anything from the suitcase 😟
Dont watch the video. He never opens the watch case
It’s like the briefcase in pulp Fiction...
haha!
seller's regret - been there got the t-shirt. Damn!
The audio is too bass heavy.
An interesting and knowledgeable guy but I switched off after 20 minutes, hadn’t seen them me watch at that stage.
I don’t like this way to push to subscribe.
I’m not a child for god sake
Is it just me, but does Thomas Hendricks resemble the Canadian actor John Reardon, who happens to share the same name as John Reardon of Christies and Sotheby's?
Interesting he says one of his rules is to "have an exit strategy" but then cringes when people ask about if a watch is a good investment.
ohhh boy the 2499 John Lennon! Grail.
Will regular wristwatches become extinct and be replaced by smart watches, or will each person remain according to his desires?
Schöner Koffer !!😊 wen interessiert denn der Inhalt!?
I like these shows but hey you only have guys that are of higher standards (richer) people in th know not the average normal guy people
Thanks for checking out our video and sharing your thoughts! Will consider that, definitely!
So much lead up and still closed box 🤷🏻♂️
Chron24 should research the guests better.." interesting watches" may also mean illegitimate watches. Do your research on what you are buying.
32:23 Mr. Reardon, John Lennon was British and the watch he wore Swiss, so it is not so American nor Newyorker.
Valid points! GQ reported that the watch was bought and gifted in NY, possibly from Tiffany. Hopefully someday we will know the whole story and learn if there is an American side of the story. Fingers crossed!
