MOVING! Thank you, Brian, for giving David this opportunity to share his passion and journey as a lover of the craft and artistry of timepieces. There is one watch - an entry level stainless steel Rolex - that I was so excited to gift to him for his graduation in 2001. There was no question, no wavering in my mind that I wanted to give him his "First Rolex" for this milestone. The many months leading to that day felt slow moving. That feeling that you just can't wait to finally be able to offer that something to a very special person on a very special day. I purchased that Rolex from Shreve Crump and Low in Copley. Although it is a humble specimen next to his collection, I believe he will not let it go nor leave it by the pool.
Watched twice! I really enjoyed this discussion and Davids collection. I can appreciate the variety, not only hyped pieces but independent and uncommon pieces also...I can only dream lol one day I'll have a collection that looks like this...

INCREDIBLE collection!!!! Looks like the value of his timepieces is worth more than his beautiful home. Amazing historic neighborhood. I like the contrast from straight up classic elegant dress watches, and the best of sport watches. You don’t see much in between pieces. That was very nice of this collector to open his doors to see his collection. I’m sure he had to take some out of a bank safe LOL Thanks for sharing

That story about J.N. Shapiro and the watch was just amazing. For him to invite you and do that little bit of work on it also teaching you to do it then add your name to it for working on it was something you don't ever hear happening. Truly truly amazing

Great interview. Just a suggestion, it will be great if you could include a bit of background of the guest... Who is he, what he does, history, why is he significant enough for you to interview him... Then the story telling will hopefully be even more fascinating. Without context, he's just another rich guy who collect watches.
Great video… my story is litlle different…I’m poorest owener of Audemars Piguet (ROO black themes H seria) in history of AP manufacture since 1875 …I was work hard and long for 3.5eu/hour and I buy watch which I like & love ..this watch can be only watch in my life and that’s reason because I decide for AP ..but my dream is to have collection…I weith Rolex submariner 41mm steel…afther that I will not have money for G shock..but I want to have more watches… Mr. Chang You have very cool collection..
