Adam, I have to say Ramon was correct to push you to continue to make videos about your vintage watch business. So interesting as well as educational not mention the person you hired behind the camera, their choice of lighting as not gone unnoticed, very impressive. Cheers!
Late to the game of vintage watches but really like your channel and the fascinating story behind them. Im a new watch guy but youre enticing me to look at vintage watches. Im just getting caught up on your videos. Thanks.
Apparently the issue with the Omega was spotted by a blogger and it all blew up from there. None of the auction house experts spotted the inconsistencies. Omega were oblivious initially but once the piece was scrutinised they saw that it wasn't genuine.
@@naughtynightlifeasia857 and Phillips Auction stopped working with him because he spotted too many inconsistences (i.e. fakes) in the watches they were putting up for auction.
Gotta like Adam's military fatique jacket, olive drab shirt and scruffy facial hair. Not trying to stand out as a rich guy on the street. Then again, maybe that is the rich guy uniform, i dont know! Love this video.
Adam is the ultimate tire kicker, talks a big game but never buys any heavy hitters! Roman is only around incase Adam actually wins a low bid but still needs Roman to cut the check.
Adrian should really avoid expressing opinions on the value of any watches that aren't MODERN Rolex, AP, or Richard Mille pieces -- he's really out of his element when it comes to vintage watches and it's obvious that his only interest in watches is the margin he'll make on a sale, not it's horological significance.
It does not matter what Adam buys for, that should be irrelevant, it will sell for what his customer is willing to pay. I deal in antique corkscrews and I am happy to pay say £5k for something even when the seller has been lucky to buy for say £50, if you want it you want it!
@@AFG51412 Exactly, its their good fortune and when you make a very good profit, that pays for the 10000's of hours you have spent to become an expert and top of your field. I hope to one day buy something from you that is special to me, I am not a millionaire but love watches. Keep up the great work.
Sadly price of ownership can easily kill most attractive buying price. Service and repair of 30-40 years old tourbillon or perpetual calendar can be ridiculous. Wearing them on regular basis is impossible. Real collectors market not for general public.
I'm a watch nerd and although I don't have $30k to drop on a vintage gold Patek, I get it. The movements are fundamentally on a different level. The Rolex's seem like mass hysteria though. We're talking about a super basic tractor parts movement in a mass produced steel watch. It seems like people paying the same money for one as a gold Patek must be ill.
These guys probably have a lot of different types of clients I feel like Adam probably does more vintage and luxury b does a lot of newer collectors wanting new
Just kind of weird to have an auction rep in this video talking about values with dealers. Since when did the auction houses become gray market consultants?
Adam isn’t a grey market dealer, he’s a vintage dealer. Different priorities: Remy sees dealers like Adam as clients, since they help buy & sell high value vintage pieces. (Also auction houses provide estimates on all listed lots.)
Take as long as you want. I watch this channel because I love vintage stuff over modern. I want you to go deep in the weeds on this stuff. You can hear 2 dozen guys say the same thing about a sub or a royal oak. I'm trying to see and hear something different

I agree 100%. Love hearing Adam speak. He's a more charismatic Eric wind ( someone else whose knowledge I greatly admire)
Don't know if it's just me but i can only watch the video in 360p. Love the channel, keep up the great work!
UA-cam upload issues :/ we tried fixing it 😢
Same
I had the same issue, I didn't know why so I went to another video and upped it to 1080p. Came back to this video and then it was also in 1080p.
This is like a fascinating glimpse into a whole other world. Very interesting stuff.

Always love your videos. Modern watches are nice but there's nothing like vintage!
Great episode, great to see Roman and his pet shark too.

Perezscope flagged it up week before the auction

Great video Adam. Hope you had success with buying the watches you were after. Keep up the great content. Lots of love from Australia. Abs.

The guy from chrsties looks like Ryan from the office 😂 cool episode Adam!
Watching these two trying to talk over each other is hilarious

😂😂😂😂
why the fuck would he buy the heavy hitters if he knows they won't sell anyway? are you retarded?
define "heavy hitters"
Stunning pieces!!! 😍⌚️⌚️⌚️🔝🔝🔝👍👍👍
Adam you are what WatchUA-cam is supposed to be. Thank you.
Good entertainment, and a lot of knowledge. Very interesting to show us your point of view. I wish you a lot of success with your UA-cam channel.
Great video! Thank you for sharing.
Gallery dept. t-shirt is 🔥🔥🔥

Guys is ridiculous. Unfollowed them a long time ago. Tired of Adrian’s stupid comments and attitude. Ego as big as his head.
Completely agreed. And the meathead move where he slides the watch across the table as if it was his own or a modern watch ….meathead.
28:06 lol his reaction was hilarious
Hey Adam, can you tell me from what brand that awesome green jacket is from? Love it!
Visvim Kilgore!
@@AFG51412 thank you Adam.
@@AFG51412 VisVim? You’re doing alright 😉
I'm really enjoying what it takes to be a vintage watch expert/dealer. I find this so enjoyable and fascinating!! Great content!
Resolution is awesome...thanks for fix.
The watch market is dead in a backyard pool and floating face down
The watch market is becoming like the car market. Corvette caught up to the Italians
Not the case for vintage. For contemporary, yes, and for a good reason.
360p ?
We tried re-uploading it but UA-cam keeps doing the same :/ hopefully will be corrected for next week. Thanks for watching anyways!
Great video! Very interesting. Would have been even better to see what the watches Adam was interested in actually went for.
I ended up winning about 3-4 watches in that Sotheby’s sale…although sadly was the underbidder on the tornek!
Interesting. Not crazy about the child sidekick of Roman
just discovered your channel! great content
Appreciate it!

Amen! I tell people all the time when they are selling me a watch that I hoped they paid $50.00 for it, what they paid is of no consequence to me.

Ahh i finally get to finish this. I was 7 min in before it was down lol
Bezling type my fav.
Is there a reason you don’t show a close up of the actual watches up for auction instead of the digital picture?
Image quality better!
You skipped Phillips? It was the strongest watch sale of NY auction week.
They aren’t big fans of us filming at the previews, especially with all the drama going on.
@@AFG51412 Got it - and thank you for your quick response!
Great content as always. But I have to be honest, I really miss Jordan.
Yo Adam this is the second upload of this video and again its 360p :(

It's fixed 👍🏻
How did the guy from taxi driver get into Christies?

Enjoyable video, but I'm a bit disappointed not to see some actual bidding, since that's the title 😅

I’m sorry tag Heuer makes a date date, corner graph, automatic if you can pick one up in a store today
gj, thx👍👍👍👍
Holy on three hundred million band.
I find the prices for those watches are in Hamilton ridiculous only watch her like there was a Rolex

Dani roman is quins.

He really got that homeless, Travis Bickle look down. That outfit screams “can’t be within 200 ft of schools”.
is he a hustler
Nah pennies
Adam Menta needs to sell a watch and invest the proceeds on new wardrobe. He looks homeless. Stop dressing at Army surplus stores.
Why don't you spend some of that well earned money on some clothes!
Are you trying to date him. 🤷♂️.. stop concerning yourself with nonsense. He can wear whatever he wants.
The two goofballs are just embarrassing
