Absolutely love your videos Mark, great clear camera work, brilliant narration, and you dont skim over the more difficult bits, keep up the good work!!!
Brilliant attention to detail, time and effort you’ve put into this video! Hope to find more as I have just inherited a 07 tdci Focus which I am planning to restore as best as I can. This video helps me immensely. Thank you!
I'm looking forward to the welding work (if there is any). The O/S front wing looks to be a very poor fit, and since this and the N/S are very rotten as well makes me think that these are replacements from previous crash damage.
I'm hoping I don't have to weld as I'm not great at upside down welding but I bet I will have to. Not sure about it being in a crash as I sort of know the history a bit and doubt that. Hope not !!!
@@FuelPoverty haha I hear what your saying lol. I just remember trying to restore an MG Midget back in the 90's and by the time we cut the rust away we had nothing to weld to....it was a disaster. I prefer welding new box tube than rusting car panels.
Morning Mark #freddyfocus content 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Top notch work, explanation & camerawork as always Mark. Both sides superbly Amazed how u found all the ball bearings too.... Better 👀 👀 👀 👀 than me. What's next on the agenda for #freddyfocus? Looking forward to the next episode. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay lucky. Alan L200
Thank you Alan. There were still 4 missing on the nearside unfortunately. I think my next step is probably to start looking underneath and the sills. Not removed the rear drums so probably should do that and check the brake shoes haven't come away from rusting.
@@CoatsandGaiters Morning Mark I was actually thinking to myself about #freddyfocus whilst watching this video & the trouble u may have getting the rear drums off before u even get to see the state of the shoes? It'll definitely be interesting to say the least for u doing it, and most entertaining for us viewing the episode..... I'm guessing you've already done it, depending on your filming, editing & then uploading time frame, so the suspense all adds to it. Look forward to seeing the next video. Stay lucky. Stay safe. @@GrandadPunchy Your up to date as much as I am Alan. I release my videos as soon as I make them. I think the brake drums should be next then if your thinking I might have trouble. I know some can bed in and the lip on the drum causes and issue but normally you can wind them in and remove the drum. Not sure on the Ford. Having to fit some work in with UA-cam so may be some delay as I've been asked to cover some shifts soon.
There is a knob on the side of the shock bearing, that has to be pointing to engine. You said, that the head must be in right position, but you did not mention the position of the bearing
@@TP-zm2rb Oh I think I know what you mean. I probably didn't explain it very well. The 3 bolt holes are slightly off so if your not careful you might struggle to light the strut up with the 3 holes. It was just to note that the holes arn't the same distance to each other so it will only fit one way is what I meant. You can't get it wrong as it can only fit one way. If the holes align then its correct.
That's not what I mean. I mean the first counterpart, that is on the top of the spring. The counterpart is tilted and the top of the spring is tilted. So the counterpart has to be focused correctly in order to get the head horizontal. If the counterpart is in wrong position, it can couse some damage to shock bearing. I tried to find an answer to this guestion some days ago, when I had problems with Volvo V50 front springs. They are similar to Focus springs.
@@TP-zm2rb Do you mean where the end of the spring fits, like a spiral with a stop that the end of the spring sits against? Are you able to give me a time stamp where I mention this in the video so I can go directly to it.

There is Another self taught youtuber like you on youtube..! Though i think, he has some kind of Technical background. His channel is called LR Time.
Thank you for the comment. Just popped over to take a look and he's good at explaining things. Good channel.
The direction of the shock bearing??
Sorry but I’m not understanding your question.
