I just came across your channel. It's amazing to see a fellow METAL fan giving BTS a chance. Especially showing your very good friend their awesomeness as well. I grew up listening to 80's rock (Van Halen, Dokken, Motley Crue, Tesla), grunge (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden) and my love for nu metal, (KoRn, Deftones, Slipknot, and more). I NEVER EVER thought I'd listen to anything like BTS. I came across BTS during a very dark time in my life and it completely changed for the better. I won't get in too deep, but I am so thankful for BTS coming into my life during that dark time. My bias is SUGA a.k.a. AGUST D 😃 I'm dragging my BFF for more than 30+ yrs. (showing my age) along for his Oakland show on May 17th. She's never listened to anything from BTS, but she's down for the ride, like a best friend should be - (just like your best friend Claude!) HI CLAUDE!! 👋

it's common to see those who discover BTS and embrace them, become "better" versions of themselves. By that, I mean, people become more open, understanding and sincere - in turn, they are able to loosen up, laugh at the silly things and share their own stories as they empathize with others'. And to me, that's a rare gift to be given. So when I see people sharing BTS with other people, it warms my heart because so many people (more or less everyone) could use such a gift in their lives.
also - their authenticity will stand against test of time. I know that for myself, no matter how much older I or they become, what I've learned and received from them will always be there - to quote Yet to Come - "deep inside your heart, there still lives a young boy."💜
I resonate with that, especially the last part. I definitely have an inner child, so to say. It reminds me to laugh more, see situations different, and remind me to be open-minded.
I LOVE when someone is open to something new without prejudgment. I discovered BTS at age 61 when JK went sailing thru the air on a hook over Wembly. It was the high notes and the energy… I’m like who the hell is this and why don’t I know about him?! I became disabled 5 years ago and have been struggling ever since to not give up. This is NOT what my life was supposed to be… but it is and BTS and Army has helped me to regroup and start to put things back again. My knee is never going to be what it was but it’s OK now because I have hope, joy and laughter and the future still holds brightness, love and so much hope. Thank you for being a part of this journey! Y’all rock!!!!

Omg I love attorney woo!! I am 50, and had just figured out through therapy shortly before watching it, that I was similar to her (vague purposely to avoid spoilers too) I loved her whale moments also 🙂 anyway, I like your friend he's open minded and cool hope to see more of him. I love seeing you stop and explain the members etc to him, I can see your pride in the boys, and I love it. I wish my friends would let me show them BTS. I've been ARMY for over 4 years and they still make fun of me for it and refuse to take the time to learn *why* I love them. They think I'm just silly for being 50 and liking them. Even when I tell them bts have literally saved my life. 💜

Claude sounds like a very genuine friend and respectful person, not to mention he has great taste in dramas! I really enjoyed Attorney Woo and highly recommend it. He gave some great observations and made meaningful connections between what you told him and how he understands the world, really liked his reaction. Although I feel like it's too soon to introduce it because there's so much content related to it plus it's related to the whole MOTS concepts, but at some later point he should watch/listen to Dionysus.

Welcome to Bryan’s Channel Claude! Thank you for giving BTS a chance and sharing your thoughts with us ARMY.
Mic Drop (Steve Aoki remix) was my introduction to BTS in 2017. I was searching for a show called Drop the Mic and this song showed up in my search. I thought to myself what is this, clicked on it and loved it. It reminded me of the music I grew up with and instantly wanted to know who they were, why had I not heard anything from them before and what else do they have in their discography.
The reason they grabbed my attention is because I completely stopped listening to music. In the early 2000s I didn’t like any of the new music coming out. Everything seemed to be cookie cutter. Like everyone was using a recipe to produce music. There was no originality anymore. Today’s artists were making covers of other songs. I got bored of it all.
BTS was different. I started off loving the beats and choreography. I didn’t say lyrics yet because great music transcends language. You can be moved by music without knowing the lyrics. Then I started reading the lyrics and that was it I am a fan for life now.
You will find in most cases the more upbeat the music the darker the lyrics. 😂
It still blows my mind how 7 of the most talented guys on the planet are in one group. Interesting fact if you look at a map of South Korea and connect each town the guys are from it makes a 7 and runs into Seoul.
Bryan since Claude has some knowledge of BTS (already heard some of their music) I think it would be ok to have him watch The introduction to BTS Members by Taylor so he gets to know them and appreciate their Journey. I think it will help him understand why they write some of their lyrics.
My journey after Mic Drop was I went back to their beginning and started from their to see how their music evolved from the beginning to when I found them.
Welcome again Claude I look forward to watching your journey down the BTS rabbit hole. You will find not only are they great artists, writers, composers, producers, dancers, they are some of the most humble and funny humans and why us ARMYs are so protective of them. I'm still what is called a Baby ARMY as BTS found me around August of 2022 and they have been an absolute blessing both musically and just for who they are as people, they bring joy.
Mic Drop was also the first song I heard from BTS.
I remember when on your first reactions you were a little bit hesitant, but now you're explaning someonelse and we can see the sparkles on your eyes and respect on your voice, at one point I got goosebumps.

If your friend watches Kdramas, he may have heard some of the vocal line in them. V did Christmas Trees in Our Beloved Summer, Jin did Yours for Jirosan, V & Jin did Its Got to be You for Hwarang, Jimin did With You in Our Blues.
