I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything like them.... they can rap... sing pop ... ballads ... dance ... they can kill it as solo artists... all of them... you could take four different vids and you would think they were different groups... and wait until you check out some live performances... epic... I once saw them do a 38 minute set on an award show...unbelievable.....oh and Kpop award shows are like no other ... they are more like concerts.... welcome to the rabbit hole man .... enjoy

ToneyReactions this is Lonn but please read this to understand their lyrics: the first part you got it wrong , it's well translated. Actually they put a explanation of what the first rapper was referring ( it said shi*ty background). People that don't lived in SK don't tend to understand and misinterpret what jhope ( the first rapper ) meant. He was referring what the Korean society said about people backgrounds , if you came from a good background ( family with money , have privilege, good mannered , connections, well behave citizen , etc ) you will have opportunities in life aka you will find sooner or later success, this people are called "silvers spoon" , meanwhile people with bad backgrounds ( came from poor family , bad mannered , went into jail , did ilegal stuff , don't have money , bad behave citizen , does bad in school , don't have connections, etc ) won't have opportunities in life , it doesn't matter how much they tried they will never be a silver spoon , they are called "dirty spoon ". BtS were called "dirty spoon" on their beginnings cuz they came from a small company that almost went bankrupt and have no connections in the media , so no exposure in Korean audience ( that's why they became popular in social media cuz they use them as their only platform to show themselves, that's why they got a lot of fans overseas and were known more overseas than in their own country , in their beginning) , groups that debut on those type of agencies don't make it , or not last long enough to even make it cuz their companies get into debts cuz they don't get money from sales since they don't tend to have much fans cuz they have low exposure. BtS has literally done a song about it called "silver spoon" or bapsade " ( that how you say dirty spoon in Korean) were they referenced them as that but it's more about the generation since the older generation in SK got more jobs that today generation cuz there is a lot of people in a small country. But in mic drop jhope references to that issue when the media called them dirty spoon , so here he said that he is a golden spoon ( like even better that those so called silver spoon ) and at the end he eat them all with his skills , meaning that what make him big are his skill not his background and even beat people with better backgrounds. BtS references to this A LOT in their songs specially after they were called like that. In the song Fire they said that people aren't spoons they are just people and they are just tying to live their lives ( that song is about the "freedom of the youth " with references from the SK system is with the younger people ( teens and young adults ). They talks about this cuz they got into the same issues and not one can say they were lazy at school that's why they criticized it cuz RM ( the leader ) was basically the best , he can literally study in the best universities what ever he wanted. But his passion were in music , in writing music that started with hip hop. Anyway I recommend to understand their background to watch "the rising of Bangtan " docuseries on UA-cam. It give you the context cuz again context on their lives makes you understand their music. It's literally their story.

If you check out Black Swan, Make It Right, Idol, On, Louder Than Bombs, Dis-Ease, Zero O'Clock, Danger, Dope, Fire, No More Dream, We Are Bulletproof, Telepathy, House of Cards, Ugh, Come Back Home, Blood Sweat and Tears, or Fake Love you will see so much to like. Seriously these are just to name a few. They also have some solo tracks from each member you could check out. I can't list everything you should check out because I would list everything. Please forgive some of the more "enthusiastic" ARMYs. If it's an official MV from Bangtantv or Hybe Labels then the lyrics are correct. You have to remember that some things translate a bit differently when you go from Korean to English. What the first rapper was saying is that many steaks aren't cooked properly but he will still be at star's dinners (ie fancy dinners or award dinners) eating them and haters can't. What the second rapper is saying is the slang "My Bad" like sorry you aren't good enough to get worldwide etc.

The rappers are all producers n i think thats why they dont really being greedy or selfish in making each song have rap part. They understand that not all songs need rap. Because of that, they willing to do more singing. Because of that, we wont know their rap skills with pop songs like dynamite. Need to check songs like not today, cypher series, ugh, ddaeng, etc to know more their rap skill. But because of their willingness n versatility, its introduced us to alot of genres from them.

"Black Swan" is my absolute favorite but "Airplane Pt 2" has a sick latin vibe, "Idol" has a fun bollywood vibe, "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" is just next level, "Ddaeng" is epic, "ON" is wicked too! I’m so glad that you see how BTS is so much more than the standard boyband stereotype they are perceived to be! Many comparisons of them to boy bands in the past, like you said, aren’t comparable! For me personally the band I honestly relate BTS to the most would be Queen, because of their versatility of genre, blending of genre, connection with audience and fans, and their stage presence. The closeness of the members as friends/family only builds the band up more. Many people relate them to Beatles, and I think that’s accurate in the sense of how big they are which is just like how huge and big Beatles were, but I tend to relate BTS to Queen more than any other band.

They are UNBELIEVABLY TALENTED!! They make music in all genre’s and it’s all 🔥! You know what else I love about them, they all have solo projects on the side, so they can share their own unique music without stepping away from the group! It’s seems like here in the US when that 1 “star” in the group (Beyoncé, JT, MJ) got too big, they left the group! This group stays together and their label allows them to put out solo music as well! I think that’s genius! You gained a sub... I can’t wait to watch you on your journey to becoming Army! I’m truly an OT7, but my bias is Jimin, who I’m sure is the one you called a girl in the Dynamite vid... I’ll have to watch it! He is a phenomenal vocalist and an inspirational, incredible dancer! He reminds me of MJ a lot! They are all so amazing and more importantly, down to earth, regular people! But they stand for something... to be kind, don’t discriminate, follow your dreams, and above all... love yourself! I don’t know anyone who couldn’t get behind that! ✌🏼💜

You don't have to switch artist to listen to another kind of song, bts have songs for all your moods, sad songs, party songs, badass songs, dance songs, sexy songs, whatever. Also they make songs about important topics, like self love, school pressure, societal issues and more. And on top of that they're both amazing people who are kind and generous, and they're very funny to watch during interviews or when they play games or something. @@ToneyReactions And to give you a little more perspective into that, “Butter” is Korean slang for “too white/too westernised”. In English we also have words like “cheesy/corny”
I’ve heard it comes from the fact that westerners use a lot more grease on their food than in Asian cuisine
For example when a Korean-American has bad pronounciation when speaking Korean, they’d say like “oh your pronounciation is so butter”. BTS has gotten criticism for their english single, people were saying they’d traded their Koreanness/ authenticity for fame in the global market (which makes no sense, as technically the album Dynamite is from, wasn’t even meant to be released, it was because of COVID.)
So I’m definitely getting a sarcastic, f you vibe from the title “Butter”, as in “lmao we aint westernized, we just versatile”

every time I watch Mic Drop I recall the meeting RM and Suga had with other artists who accused them of betraying hip hop/rap by becoming Idols and of not being men for wearing make up.
this song and Dope hooked me on BTS. Great variety, incredible talent.

You know... You might want to check out BTS speech in the UN. They are even invited by UN to be the youth rep. RM spoke of a very strong message to everyone about self-love. They are more than just artist...philantrophist too.

I speak both Korean and English fluently, but I wouldn’t have understood real meaning behind the lyrics without your interpretation. Such a weird yet beautiful generation we live in where a K-band’s song viewed worldwide with subtitles and explain it back to me. Amazing.

Love this reaction! Yes yes yes please.....react to the ALL the Cyphers & Deachwita! Then do a 360 and react to Black Swan and Idol (both Jimmy Fallon BTS week). 🤯 While your at it check out ON:Kinetic Manifesto. There are so, so many!! You won’t regret a minute jumping feet first into the BTS rabbit hole!!! Seriously though-the versatility of this group 🤯. I’m a 62 yr old grandma suggesting the Cyphers 😳 👋🏽 Not in a million years would have thought I would like rap, but here I am a proud Army!!
I was watching Jimmy Fallon when they performed ON at Grand Central Station. I was in awe!! So I searched them on YT. MIC DROP was the 2nd MV I watched and then I couldn’t get enough of BTS. THEY add new layers to your life! What an awesome ride!
From their first song NO MORE DREAM to Blood, Sweat & Tears to Mic Drop to Black Swan to Life Goes On (and everything in between) BTS still amazes me! We don’t need to speak the same language… When you understand (emotionally) what their song is about BEFORE looking up the translated lyrics, now that’s something VERY special that hits you to the core! That’s BTS 💜✨💜✨💜✨💜

I am 62, a life long Bowie fan since I was 13, after I saw him live as Ziggy Stardust. I am shook by BTS - they are amazing. My all-timer favorite artists (Sorry David). I'm a grandmother and am still trying to blackmail one of my grandkids to let go to a concert with them lol. These men are humble, so creative and wonderful artists. I love watching people do reaction videos. Yours is so good!! I have a warning - they are addictive. I could see your groove to 'Mic Drop' and clearly they are on their way to recruiting you. I strongly advise you watch SUGA's Daewitita. It' a ground-breaking rap. I think you will love it. I've liked and I'm just about to subscribe so I can watch your journey. Peace!

Grew up listening to BTS, they've definitely proved themselves to be more than any genre. Their whole discography is just based on 'life', the early stages of teens and figuring out your goals/dreams, the temptations and rebellious times of adolescence, finding ways to love yourself as you navigate through life, coping through the pandemic, etc. That's why we say the genre is BTS.
Their latest releases has them mellowing down, they're more fan songs as a tribute to their current success. I do miss the Wings and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life eras, because you can see their desperation and hunger for success. Mic Drop was the last song addressing the haters and everyone who ridiculed them in the industry. They've realised they're bigger then their haters, and now they're fighting bigger wars. Appreciate that you're checking out their music and didn't hold prejudices against them! 💜
