- Hello and Welcome or another Budget Builds Video where today we'll be taking a look at the AMD Athlon 200GE, AMD’s newest Ryzen Based APU, which comes in at around £45/$55 it easily makes itself clear as a tempting budget variant, especially when you factor in the limited upgradability of the competing Intel G4560, aswell as the rising price of current Intel CPUs, but in a world of price-fixed RAM is this little APU worth it…? Well join us as we test the APU from everything from Fortnite to Freesync.

Specs: CPU: AMD Athlon 200GE
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz
GPU: AMD R9 Fury / Vega 3
Holy cow. The gta5 results are better than the gddr5 GT 730, and that's $40-60 alone
Fellas, this video was not intended as a Diss at anyone, it was purely because noone has tested CPU Side performance, aswell as APU Performance, of the chip, along with features and how it actually is to use. I was using it for well over a week, and felt that this was one of the more complete testing suite videos out today. Cheers.
Who here in 2021 when they are nearly £100
OH GOD, FINALLY SOMEONE WHO TESTS IT WITH A GPU
i think is the first normal 200GE review i have seen.
Great review, very detailed. Agreed on DDR4 prices, it makes used parts very appealing.
Ram pricing is the sole reason why I haven't upgraded from my 2500K build, yet...
In my country Indonesia, second hand Intel parts still expensive. second hand i5 2400 actually cost more than NEW AMD Athlon 200GE ( i5 2400 is Rp 900.000-+ and Athlon 200 is Rp 880.000), H61/H77 Motherboard cost around the same as A320 Motherboard ( H61 Asus costs Rp. 650.000 and Asrock A320 is Rp 720.000). so, in the end, building a second hand i5 Sandy Bridge PC will cost around the same as a New system with Athlon 200GE. Even with high DDR4 prices at least in my country Buying New AMD system still has a better value than second hand Ivy or Sandy bridge system ( and yes, In according to some source I heard AMD stuff in Indonesia is cheapest in Asia, so kinda ... make sense? )
Still better than Intel hd graphics...
This desktop gpu is still worse than my 2015 low end gefore 920m lol.

I've had this cpu since release. I paired it with my 4gb XFX R7 240 in 2018 and named it "Athlonicon". Its a lovely 60w of cpu and gpu. 0 issues ever with this cpu.
Its insane how far integrated graphics are coming along

It seems like an ok cpu for an office build but here in canada you could buy a ryzen 3 2200g for about 50 extra dollars or so and it outperforms the 200GE so well. You did make a very good point about the ram prices, I really wish they would drop so I could build newer pcs more often.

For the price you cant really argue as it gets you into a modern platform with potential to go all the way up to an 8 core CPU. Keep it up Hamish!
Great Video my dude ^~^ Miss talking with the community in the Discord, but life has been keeping me super busy. 💞💞
Great choice in OSTs you're using in the videos.
great review, thanks for doing a nice thorough and proper review of this little APU.
