    You should be aware that the resin is going to very quickly Amber and your photo will fade out in the sunlight.

      Thanks Judy - yes, I had advised my brother about that - he insisted that he wanted me to make them and said he will be trying an automotive UV protectant on these pieces to see if it helps lengthen their lifespan... if not , we will try something else for the photo.

    You can laminate photos, seal it with modge podge, any spray sealant will work, or u can use clear nail polish (I prefer fast dry top coat). It truly is best to seal photos used in resin as over time resin can dull out photos. It does not matter what paper they are printed on as long as they are properly sealed. I would never not seal a photo that's just asking for future fading. Anyway just trying to be helpful. Loved the vid!

    I get photos printed at office works here in Australia and get it done on say 220gsm synthetic paper. I then use some sealer/varnish if on coasters, then resin. I have some done 7 yrs ago and still so clear and no fading.

    Tanja sounds like she was so loved and such a delight - I know she'll be missed - my condolences Nadia. 🙏💞 This was a very helpful video - I recently did a photo as a requested memorial keepsake (I asked them to have the photo laminated - since they had one, prior to my placing it in resin - for fear of ruining the photo). Although it turned out well, your process is such a better option with the gloss varnish! I let the photo cure in clear resin, then did the remainder backing resin (such as how you did with glitter resin).

    Can I ask when use the heat gun when do you use and how does it help 😊

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  Рік тому +1

      Heat gun helps to pop surface bubbles and mix colors (if you want to mix your colors)... and it's also used for ocean waves

    These were sooo cute... 1st off I thought the little bubble was cute, my dumb self would have made a thought bubble with her saying something out of it...lol.
    Next do u think the varnish could have stopped the glitter from seeping under like it did with the others???

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  2 роки тому

      💖thank you! I actually like the bubble as well! 🥰 I don't think the varnish stopped the glitter, but I believe I did put somewhat less glitter on that piece, so that could be why it didn't seep through as much.

    How long those it takes for it to dry

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  Місяць тому

      Resin cures, not dries, as it's a chemical reaction, not water or oil based. The curing time will vary depending on the resin you use. Some cure within hours, others take days.

    Does anyone know what the photos are printed on? Is that just a regular photo that was processed and printed? It can't be printed on paper since it seems so sturdy. Any help appreciated.

    they came out awesome but maybe next time laminate the photo before you put it in and you don't have to go through all that you know painting the sealer on or anything

    Tedious presentation, difficult to follow. Mistakes made so don't really trust this instruction.
