  • In today’s video I will be moulding epoxy resin inside BALLOONS to create bowls, pots or vases AND a lampshade! This technique opens up a world of opportunities for your resin art projects and I hope it inspires you to have a go yourself.
Thank you for watching and helping me to INNOVATE, INVENT and INSPIRE!
Please Note* I recommend using thick (high viscosity) resin for this project. I was unable to find one on Amazon.com so have omitted it from the USA list. (Sorry, I did try)

*PLEASE NOTE if you are concerned about the balloon popping and coating your room with resin, wrap it in cling film or put it in a tied plastic bag after filling the balloon with resin. I haven’t had any issues but I understand people’s concerns.

My first thought was that resin might heat too much and burst, which I think is possible with different resins. I would definitely want to let it set in a box not open room.

Your accent is exquisitely lovely to listen to. I'm not saying stop what you're doing keep on being creative. But you could be extremely popular with a secondary read a story channel. I love to listen to people read a story when I'm going to sleep. I don't care if it's scary stories. Mystery stories. Funny I can relisten to them when I'm awake and I know them. Quite incredible how your brain absorbs that information. Think about it darling. Your voice is so lovely. Wouldn't be difficult. Just read. Your voice is amazing. What a heavenly voice you have. Hi Louise, Lovely work. One technique you might try to loosen the balloon from the casting would be to use a small air compressor with hose and nozzle. Open a small hole in the balloon, insert the nozzle, and gather the area to form a tight seal. A few blasts of air should cause the balloon to release and voila'.

Great idea for the lampshade. I was thinking you were going to use those vase-balloons as permanent balloons. Something you could use in a child's bedroom. You could actually use those completely clear balloons and leave this on as extra protection for the inner resin balloon. That way you could wipe them down quickly if they become dusty. You could tie them so they hang from the ceiling or a curtain rail or attach them to some stiff wire to stand up in a vase.

Occasionally i make mixtures of glycerin and propyleneglycol for my e-cigarettes. To improve the mixing process i use an ultrasonic cleaner. Whenever i put the glass bottles into the cleaner the bubbles in the viscous fluid rise up very quickly. I'm quite sure it would as well work with the red cups you are using for the resin.
Some of the projects i have planned in the near future include some epoxy resin and i will see how well the ultrasonic bath gets the bubbles out of the resin mix.
