Ahh!! My grandfather was also from Hyderabad Dakkan!! And he used to make these!!! He knew a lot of recipes like Tahari and Tamatar ki Kutt and ahh, this brings back memories!!
This is different from how some other Indian chefs prepare this dish ... (1) I noticed was fritters were not soaked in hot water before serving and (2) mixing of two flours ... I have seen some chefs cooking with soaked and ground Urad dal only (that is, with no besan or chickpea flour)
