This song was so good it was used by both Allies and axis. Considering it was WW2, the most brutal conflict in history, that is just INCREDIBLE.
There is a good WW2 canteen song called "The D-day Dodgers" too. The music is very similar to "Lili marleen"
I love this old version, it's really beautiful❤🇩🇪
I agree, the original is both beautiful yet sad.
I honestly thought this was from HOI4, didn't expect it to be a real song. Although if I'm correct its from WW1
That is correct, the lyrics were written in 1915.
Correction: The lyrics we're written by a German solider as a poem in 1915, then, in 1937 the poem was published, and a compositor realized it could be a good song, so he made the song in 1940 and soon became popular
It is one of the most famous songs of ww2, other than vie en rose
This song is so good and beautiful❤❤❤
So much beautiful❤❤
J'adore cette chanson.. Lilli Marleen 🌹
The safe and excellent alternative flag
not safe if it belonged to an opposing entity
@@grasstails9737 Safe which mean that UA-cam does not mind its presence
This isn’t a WW2 song, the lyrics were written in 1915.
And it gained worldwide popularity during ww2. Soldiers on both sides listened to this.
@@Nigg0 doesn’t change the fact that it was written during WW1.
the song wasnt made until 1940
@@user-mf4gu6zv6p blatantly false, the lyrics were written in 1915 by Hans Leip, published in 1937, set to music in 1938 and the first recording was made in 1939.
@@SwePol ok so basically just before ww2
You should check out the Marlene Dietrich version
KARDS brought me here
*WW1/the "Great War"
Germany (1938-1946)
I wish you had posted it two years ago
Why just two years ago?
@@SwePol Because I had made a video about it and posted it on Telegram, but this version is much better
Same tune as D-Day dodgers, interesting.
D-Day Dodgers is a parody of Lili Marleen.
I love that song but I prefer the Chilean version 🇨🇱❤️🇩🇪
