- Two great looking watches from China reviewed and explained. One is an airplane watch the other looks a lot like a King Seiko or a Seiko LM. The watches are both nice, both not expensive and both a nice conversation piece. Both are a good example of great Chines watches you can get for a lot less money then you think.

The Shanghai is an excellent watch. It is a modern made watch. Someone bought the parts and assembled these watches. The movement is a 7120 movement. Its just like the old models except its new. You need a chinese caseback opener to open the back. Its screw on. The movement is 17 jewels. I don't own the other model but its probably Newly manufactured as well. Parts and supply's are cheap in China to make these watches. They are inexpensive and everyone can afford to buy one if you want one. Most of the older watches found in China are most likely franken watches anyways so why not own a newly manufactured homage to the old models? I always look for the cheaper models and buy those. They aren't original antique watches but they function nicely. I always buy the no date hand wind models that are less complicated and are easier to work on. Enjoy.

tnx, The Chinese watches are honest not to expensive and they even run well... problem is the real ones are often only for a short while available so if you consider one don't wait to long I have seen many disappear from my Wishlist :)
@@Dutchwatchdude well I picked up the one with the rocket seconds hand, and it doesn't seem good. Very difficult to wind, I'm not sure if it's an honest watch if that makes sense.
It may well be a cheap re-issue in a vintage style. Who knows
the first watch is not 39mm, try to measure it, its around 36mm... and the strapbsize is only 19mm... i just ordered one.. hows yours doing now?
