My 10 year old daughter’s gifted math teacher is going to have some khan academy assignments during the summer so I’ll have her do that to keep fresh on math since she’ll be doing 6th grade math in 5th grade! We’ll definitely be doing reading. My mom got her a subscription to little passports us States so she’ll be learning about some states too! I also get highlights top secret agent to learn about different countries!
I’ve never heard of the CLEFT? Exam but I’m assuming it’s similar to AP Exams (I’m in CA). I took so many AP Exams (~13) in HS including every single science one. I’m a chem e major and I got credit for nothing but 1 psychology class. I’ve been recommending for others to look into the colleges/universities that your daughter wants to apply to and maybe avoid taking exams that won’t save time or money if they don’t transfer.
CLEP is kind of like AP, in a way. As long as your university accepts CLEP exams, you're guaranteed credit for that class. Each school is different so you would need to do your research about what schools accept CLEP credits, what score is required for passing and which CLEP exams are eligible for credit.
I live in Ohio and the stay at home order there has started to lift... Restaurants and stores are beginning to open. I have been out and about, and I don’t wear a mask.. I feel very claustrophobic wearing them so I choose to opt out! I am so looking forward to getting back to some sort of normal!😊
That's great that you all are starting to open up! We are as well but very slowly and stores have a right to refuse you if you aren't wearing a mask. In fact, Dollar Tree had a sign on the door that said not to come in without one.
A Place to Nest that’s interesting, our dollar tree does not say that! But of course I would respect whatever the business wanted, and wear one if asked... but I reaaaaallly dislike them.😂
Dollar tree should feel honored! Oh no! You say "buggy"! True story...when I first moved to Oklahoma to go to college, I went to Walmart to grocery shop and when I checked out the lady asked me if I wanted my sacs in my buggy and I just stared at her. I had NO clue what she was asking me. My Okie friend told me that she was talking about my bags in my cart...and I was thinking "then why didn't she just ask me that?" HAHA
I'm still too scared to go out, luckily we can have groceries delivered. Hubby's work hasn't been affected much, thankfully. Our learning year will end in two weeks, we have just a few items that will carry over. I miss Dollar Tree, saw they opened up online ordering though. Thanks for another great video! Glad you got to venture out.
I think it depends how many cases you have in the area you live in. Our area has a lot of it, one of the worst, so we are not going to stores and are still getting groceries delivered.
You got to go to Panera! Yay! I know that’s your place. Another great video Becky. I will have to get out to the Dollar Tree because you found some things that we could use! I’m not sure when our last day of school is. We decided to go ahead and do end-of-year testing even though apparently we don’t have to this year. I just want to play it safe. I feel like we are done (5th grade) this year, but I almost want to wait and see when more things open up and take our break then. I’m not sure. We definitely will keep up doing some reading and writing through break though.
Yes, I did! I will say it's not as fun without being able to eat there though. Yes, it's better safe than sorry with testing. I'm just glad I had my daughter take the ACT early, otherwise she wouldn't be able to take it now and couldn't have enrolled in college classes next year. I hope you get to go to Dollar Tree soon!
It's good that you ventured out. I was nervous too, it is weird seeing everyone in masks. We take a two week break after the school year ends and another two weeks before the new school year begins. My kids are young and need a schedule to keep them busy and not watching tv or their tablets too much.
I actually ventured out for the first time too recently! I went to Trader Joe's last weekend & I had a good experience there. I may go every couple of weeks. Also, my husband recently went back to work (yesterday). For now, he'll only go in as needed. He's a programmer, so luckily he can do most work from home. I'm glad that your husband is back to work & that you had a good experience at Dollar Tree. I haven't been to mine in over 2 mths. And congrats on finishing school for the year!
It's awesome that your husband can work from home! My brother can, too and since all of this, his company has actually been considering letting some people work from home forever.
We have MANDATORY masks....but it goes by the store and a lot of employees are not wearing them. You're right, it's not good for you. I'm glad that you went out. I think that it's so important for people to have contact other human beings. God created us to be social- I am convinced that although the virus has done damage, the impact of isolation has done more.
My husband is essential and has been working everyday. I have been going to the stores right along. We don't have delivery service available in my Massachusetts community. Some stores require masks some do not. I just use commonsense, respectable to those around me and wash my hands. I try not to use hand sanitizer. I am luckily on the NH boarder and things are just beginning to open there. Massachusetts is still the appocolyps. It's very sad for the small businesses.
It sounds like you're able to carry on with life somewhat normally! That's such an awesome blessing that I think we all took for granted! I know I did! Hopefully things will get better in Massachusetts soon!
I just signed up and used your referral code. I'm looking at getting my 11 year old a new desk. Do you like the one you have from IKEA? I was thinking about ordering her one from there.
@@aplacetonest Thank you so much! I am so glad that I found your channel. Your videos have been helping me so much with homeschooling and trying to stay positive during this time.
My BP gets high wearing a mask and breathing in CO2. I wore it at Sams last week and got a nose bleed. So - no mask for me. But I have been going out 1-2 times a week since the beginning. Our governor didn't "mandate" the mask until 5/11. Most around me understand that the mask isn't doing any good and can do more harm.
👍😉. I wonder the same things about the masks. * I'm going to use the little piece of paper thing...that's great. * I've been out a little bit now. After This Saturday,. That's when I'm telling my family,"that's it, it's summer, I can get my own groceries." These people from WHO need to understand that people can only isolate for so long!
My daughters (14 and 10) are super into Pokémon again too. They like the cards and they love the shows and books.

How is everyone keeping their kids busy over the summer? I need ideas!!
I'm actually working on a video about that right now! :)

You can still get covid if your healthy. They're are people who don't show symptoms and has the virus. The mask is for a reason but to each is own.
Your subscribers are steadily growing!
I’m excited to be growing my UA-cam family! ❤️
Oh how I missed you! I had taken some time off from videos but I'm glad I'm back.
Aww well welcome back! It’s good to see you!
Oh, I want that copy of the declaration and bill of rights. That is expensive on Amazon.
Check your local Dollar Tree and maybe you'll get lucky! I thought they were a great find!

I wonder if buggy is a regional word?

Haha I think the British call it a trolley don’t they? To me, a trolley is like a cable car.

I love National Treasure and NT Book of Secrets!
When you use the rewards program, do they mail you a hard gift card or is it electronic?
They are e cards so they email them and they also can be accessed through the app.
