I somehow feel like every single game i have ever purchased and played was a stepping stone to get to this legendary game. No Man's Sky is an action-adventure survival game with 18 quintillion planets to visit, build on and explore, No Man’s Sky has been billed as a game that’s as infinite as the universe itself, or close to it, with over 18 quintillion - that’s an 18 with 18 zeros after it - planets scattered across its virtual galaxies. Even if you visited one of those planets every second, and could travel between them instantly, seeing the entire game would take you nearly 585 billion years. (For reference, that’s more than 42 times the age of the known universe.) 😮 What makes a game awesome is freedom, freedom to do what you want when you want and not have to stick to a path or mission, within nms you have total freedom to explore a huge universe, when you want, how you want 😀
Its so amazing to see all the positivity here! A lot of you have said some pretty amazing and powerful things! Just the kind of people I want to come across in Beyond! Here is to hoping I do, see you all in the Nexus!

@Gupporu, the best way I can describe it, flat screen gaming is like watching someone skydiving, its fun to watch, but in psvr, YOU ARE the person skydiving.

@@mrmagoo-i2lhmm, im normally ok with motion sickness but i will have to consider that possibilty..I might wait for a couple reviews and see how most peoplr are handling it. :)
Once you build your VR legs, you will be fine. Go for it. I'm sure the game will come with various comfort settings to help the newer VR players, like most VR games do.
How come I got that tingle that Dave is going to get the platinum for this? Last time I got this tingle, I believed Palpatine was going to be in E9 and it turned out I was right then.
Yep, but it still has some ways to go still to convince the doubters. What gets me is that people lack imagination enough to not understand what VR actually is. Anyone I've heard shitting on it all thinks its the same as 3d TV, where you strap a big box to your head, and there's a flat 2d screen in front of you that just pops out 3d images like a 3d film. Really, all they need to do is think bigger and imagine their own surroundings just looking like video game graphics, where you get up, look around, walk about. It's the same thing as real life...only things aren't actually there, but you feel like touching them anyway. There's also the argument that TV's are better because they are sharper. That's true for the time being, but nowhere near as night and day as made out. Plus, when headsets get the resolution and better lenses in them with wider FOV, you're basically going to have the ability to watch and play whatever you want on a screen, only the screen can be 100 feet wide, and sitting on the Moon if you wish.
PSVR is still the worst VR system, it's actually the fault of that piece of garbage that so many people were turned away from VR becasue they thought that was what modern VR is like, when in truth, legit VR on the PC is nothing remotely relatable to it. I feel terrible for people thinking the PSVR is good or worth using, they don't know what they are missing.
I remember filling out a Hello Games survey asking what would make me interested in getting back into NMS, and one of the options was VR support (the whole reason I did the survey). I'd like to imagine that in my own drop-in-the-ocean way I helped persuade them to do this. But I have to say, I never dreamed they would be able to do it for this console generation, and so soon. These guys are just amazing, I can't praise them enough. Also- anyone thinking of getting VR for this: 1. excellent decision; 2. if you have PS Plus, do yourself a favour and grab Wipeout now while it is a free monthly game. The free VR patch for that is nothing short of phenomenal.
I think the thing that makes No Man's Sky VR stand out from all the other VR games is the fact that you can play it together with normal players and everyone gets the same experience. This makes it just so accessible and connects both worlds in the perfect way.
Did you try the psvr headset? If yes, how was the graphics quality? I got Farpoint and that look good. (Skyrim VR is with outdated graphics) If NMS has similar VR quality to Farpoint then it will be sooooo good!
PSVR is by far the worst VR system when when it first came out a few years ago. Now, it's complete garbage compared to even the mobile VR kit, Oculus Quest. Save your money, buy into a PC if you want VR, otherwise, just get the oculus Quest. PSVR is not legit VR.
@@sqlevolicious I have PSVR so it's not something I plan to buy :) Yes I know PC VR is way ahead. I'm thinking about buying a VR set for my PC too. I got a gaming config it should be ok. But until I get the cash I use psvr. It's not that bad at all. Blurry a bit (I tested Beyond update now) but the immersion is high and after 5 minutes I got use to the lower graphic quality. Not saying I wouldn't be happy with better quality :) Probably when PS5 comes out the VR quality will improve as the psvr headset is capable of higher resolution but the old ps4 hardware can't output better resolution...
This VR update and Wipeout Omega Collection being one of the free monthly titles. Good time to get a headset if you’ve been tempted. Wipeout is insanely good in VR.

I said since launch, if they made this for psvr, I'd buy a unit without a second thought. I first heard Beyond update announced in April, bought a psvr within the hour, 3 days to go and man have I not been more hyped for a game in my life!
NMS was my childhood dream from way back in the day of Rocket Man and Space Oddity..So I put my faith in it from day zero...I am glad they included my suggestions of a space fleet and a social nexus mode...It makes the game well rounded...And leaves room for growth...
As a day one buyer of this game, it’s been a bit of a journey. Earning trust back after people felt collectively misinformed and caught out and all. That feeling of exploration, curiosity and adventure has grown so much playing this game. Really impressed with the perseverance for this title.
well, I'm sold. I've wanted to get into NMS since the Next update but didn't have the time anyway because of uni. but now I'm done and can get into it, what better time to get VR eh? thanks for another great and informative video, guys. hope you get to try it very soon Elle!

What I love lost about this is that it's a full experience most games are 1-2 hours short for $30. This game is endless like Skyrim VR. I am really excited about this. Hello Games came a long way.
I got NMS on release day and played maybe 50 hours before giving up with disappointment, the news of "Beyond" brought me back about a week ago and im soooo glad i did. VR is going to bring this to an entirely new level and all the other new updates will be a huge bonus.

A couple of niggles regarding your comments in the video: Dave suggested that once you get your ship, if you find another one, you have to swap it for your old one. Unless Beyond reverts NMS back to the launch version, as of now, you can have Six ships, not just one. Also, Elle said that HG have created Rocket League within NMS Beyond. In the other Sean Murray interview video, Sean only said that players have such bigger base building limits in Beyond that They could build something like Rocket League.
I wasn't ready for how genuinely intimidating it was too see the planet below me leave my feet, or to look up and see half the sky filled with a HUGE planet above it.
I was a little hesitant to try my Move controllers, but you make it sound amazing! I will turn it on tomorrow, for the first time, with the Move controllers!
I've loved the game from launch and have restarted the game with each update - so looking forward to restarting again next week. Love the look of rideable creatures and hope this will apply to the larger flying and swimming creatures too. The base building will be astounding in VR especially the underwater bases!
I’m trying hard not to be hyped for this. What’s worrying me about NMS VR is teleport movement. That would be a complete dealbreaker for me. Fingers crossed.
Dave has completely convinced me into buying No Man's Sky after watching this video! Just bought from the PS store (which is currently 50% off btw at $24.99) and am definitely looking forward to playing this beauty for not only the first time ever, but entirely in VR as well!
1 Key change I'd like Hello Games to Make for VR (Well, call it a Feature shuffle!) is to duplicate the Space Station Players Appearance Customization Station settings in the Game setup settings,(same as Elder Scrolls Online) In all the NMS versions to date. You tell us how long did it take you to Discover the Spacestation then Locate the Player customization Pad in the Right hand (Starboard ) section beyond the Vendors stations? Does not scream out at you, conversely on the Left upper level (Port side )of the Spacestation The Transporter portal is Easy to pick out. and of course you'll be blindly using it for the First time until you Figure out several attempts Later How to control it 😳 When you get to the Station all changes are No charge [Quoting myself from an older post] : I had a go changing my appearance ready for Beyond (in the Spacestation) and...Despite first Glances There are 4 other Races to choose from DO CHECK the 10 buttons underneath and You can really make your Traveller Look different. [unquote]On the 2nd busy trailer all the "Multi players" were mostly wearing the Default spacesuit or the 4 Races "Heads"
Hey PS Access. Just wanted to give a big shout out to the indie companies. I can remember when NMS first released how much flack Hello Games got and I think this journey is the perfect template of how a video games company SHOULD behave when things don't go as planned. The work and time they've put in is so evident now and I would sincerely hope everyone can have respect for how Hello Games have progressed the game; Hinterland with Long Dark I think is another amazing example of tireless dedication to their game and customers. I really hope that some of the bigger companies like Rockstar and EA take note of this kind of attitude and can incorporate some of this passion and love into their products as well.
I pre-ordered this back in 2016, loaded it into the ps4, but never played it after seeing the reviews. When the patches began to roll out and there were whispers of VR, I looked at my headset and said "I want my first time to be with you" 😂. Looking forward to checking it out for the first time this weekend. Now if we could only get Alien Isolation in PSVR...

As no man's sky came out, one of my friends and I talked about how great it would be on vr, but were sad because we knew how unlikely it would be after the mess the launch was. Happy that after all, hello games pushed forward with this amazing game!
So sad you can't get scope across on a flat screen. That's what's really going to elevate NMS for me, actually walking around on planets and seeing things be the size they're supposed to. Just looking up at the beautiful sky as the sun rises, coloring the clouds and the planetary rings in the background. Getting in my cockpit, physically grabbing the controls, and going for a joyride across beautiful vistas, before blasting off into space. Not to mention base building. Oof we're in for a good time!
Just curious. Anyone know if the "option" to swap between 1st, and 3rd person view / external ship view will also be available in VR? I realise that a lot of folks think that VR is solely for 1st person. But It actually is awesome in 3rd person as many games have shown us. Anyone know? Thanks.
I agree, VR 3rd person games like Astro Bot are severely overlooked for how intuitive and immersive they are. I'll never be able to experience them, but I really think that's where the future of gaming lies.
@@greenhowie Hey great reply. I think 3rd person in NMS might be included. Because all the way through this video, its showing the character walking from behind. free, When i look at how nms was at release compared to now it's crazy
what you have done and i don't know what your future plans are for nms
but wow you have won my respect and the respect of others i am sure, No
Man's Sky will be a game other game developers look up too and aspire
too.
I somehow feel like every single game i have ever purchased and played was a stepping stone to get to this legendary game.
No Man's Sky is an action-adventure survival game with 18 quintillion
planets to visit, build on and explore, No Man’s Sky has been billed as a
game that’s as infinite as the universe itself, or close to it, with
over 18 quintillion - that’s an 18 with 18 zeros after it - planets
scattered across its virtual galaxies. Even if you visited one of those
planets every second, and could travel between them instantly, seeing
the entire game would take you nearly 585 billion years. (For reference,
that’s more than 42 times the age of the known universe.) 😮
What makes a game awesome is freedom, freedom to do what you want when
you want and not have to stick to a path or mission, within nms you have
total freedom to explore a huge universe, when you want, how you want 😀
Well said!
I'm BEYOND excited for the update and am so glad this team is behind NMS.
You plan on trying it out in VR? Got vr just for this update!
Its so amazing to see all the positivity here! A lot of you have said some pretty amazing and powerful things! Just the kind of people I want to come across in Beyond! Here is to hoping I do, see you all in the Nexus!
Thank you for sticking with it trough the bad launch and stuff! You where one of the few who kept the hope up
See you there! :)
see u there in VR
I bought it a few months ago on a sale when they announced VR and I've just been waiting to experience it for the first time on VR. Please don't disappoint
Pretty much the same. I picked it up back during Black Friday last year as it was only $10, because I heard a rumor at the time it was gonna get VR. Been working on other games since then and waiting to play this from the beginning entirely in Virtual Reality! :)
TiagoWazzup Same
Same, downloaded the update now just waiting for the free time to finally try it
It's great to see Dave not so goofy and funny while talking about his experience. That says a lot about how incredible it was for him. Great video, guys! Thanks
This is so awesome! I’m going to start a new character and see how much it’s changed.
SO MUCH HYPE!!
Absolutely! This is going to be amazing! With move controllers supported and all the new multiplayer elements, it’s going to be so awesome!
Warp drives in the hype train at full power! Let's go Travelers!
Oh man this is gonna make me want to get PS VR for sure. Looks so cool
I thought psvr was going to be a novelty, but now it's almost all I play, I remodled a room dedicated to it I'm so excited for this update.
VR is way better than looking at a flat screen. Go buy one ASAP
vr is so worth it, even psvr (as that is all I own myself), its not something you can describe in words.
@Gupporu, the best way I can describe it, flat screen gaming is like watching someone skydiving, its fun to watch, but in psvr, YOU ARE the person skydiving.
@@gupporu2844 Look around the room you are in. Now re-skin that room with a game you love. That's vr.
This is a very important game for VR in general. A new bar has been set. Well done Hello Games 👍🏻
My body is ready.
In the words of Rafiki from Lion King... "It is time"
one of the best redemption stories
1st thing i'd do, is procure a ship and become a terror of the starwinds, a cosmic red baron if you will, shooting down everyone i came across
Elbethium yea that’s our plan too lol
@@GAMERJEFFRO am really gonna pick this game up now. seems worth it
GTA V....
In space...
32 players in one instance, you will be doing a lot of shooting haha
You might need some upgrades first. Day one players with exotic ships are op
WHY did I have to watch this! I can't get PSVR until Christmas but I want it NOW!!
Wow sounds like a good time to pick this up, a massive online world in VR sounds and looks amazing.
Robert Bobson Hell yes dude!
I hope to see you in Universe somewhere dude! 👊
My Gamertag is the same as my UA-cam name if you wanna meet up for any VR Gaming 👍
Robert Bobson yea I played it last night sense the latest updates and it’s gotten so much better
The amount of love I have for this game is just off the charts, it was good at launch but it's incredible now. Hello Games deserve so much admiration and respect for what they've achieved, when they could have very easily just cut their losses and walked away.
Can't wait to try the game in VR. Maybe this will make me play it again.
Omg! I would not be able to sit and watch. I'd have to close my eyes!!! So SO EXCITED FOR VR
I bought a VR just for this. And enjoyed already a week of amazing games, I can't wait for Beyond! Thanks for your hands-on!
You and me both brother
*brofist!*
I bought one too just for this game!
tempted to buy a psvr just for this...for real...
Lesser Spotted Mugwump depends on how strong you are about motion sickness. I’ve never had any trouble.
@@plo617 awesome :)
While you're at it, get Skyrim in vr. That's awesome too.
First thing I will do is walk about on my freighter and check out all of my ships cockpits.
How come I got that tingle that Dave is going to get the platinum for this?
Last time I got this tingle, I believed Palpatine was going to be in E9 and it turned out I was right then.
The ability to create, share and explore with friends in VR!! Just that alone sounds like an experience worth having!!
A game about space and spaceships...... booooooooorriiiinngg
Nah... i love this game! Its awesome!
When he talks, she looks at him with so much passion like she is in love with him!
Cannot flipping wait for this update! Loved the enthusiasm and the reactions here :)
I remember not that long ago PSVR was getting so much hate from people & the media, same with No Man's Sky. Funny how things can change so quickly 😂
Ikr. Finally people are starting to take notice of this revolutionary gaming tech.
Hahaha they're a match made in vr heaven.
Yeah that's not true at all, I have Rift too but Wipeout, Farpoint & Astrobot is amazing.
Also- anyone thinking of getting VR for this:
1. excellent decision;
2. if you have PS Plus, do yourself a favour and grab Wipeout now while it is a free monthly game. The free VR patch for that is nothing short of phenomenal.
And we are now approaching No Man's Sky 2! Prepare to depart!
I think the thing that makes No Man's Sky VR stand out from all the other VR games is the fact that you can play it together with normal players and everyone gets the same experience. This makes it just so accessible and connects both worlds in the perfect way.
And they all.said it would never happen ! I tip my hat...well done guys can't wait.
Get a women who looks at you the same way Ell looks at Dave as he describes VR in No mans sky :p
Im tellin you man
Facts
Get you a woman like Elle, full stop
Was looking for a comment like this lol. Was thinking the exact same thing
What? Oh you mean the perfect woman. Good luck with that. Lol
Literally can't wait to get this up on our channel! Like...this blows our team away we can't wait to share it with you all!
@@sqlevolicious I have PSVR so it's not something I plan to buy :)
Yes I know PC VR is way ahead. Not saying I wouldn't be happy with better quality :)
Probably when PS5 comes out the VR quality will improve as the psvr headset is capable of higher resolution but the old ps4 hardware can't output better resolution...
This VR update and Wipeout Omega Collection being one of the free monthly titles. Good time to get a headset if you’ve been tempted. Wipeout is insanely good in VR.
Wipeout is amazinggggg
ThaPokéstopPapí definitely one of my greatest gaming experiences ever
I joined on near the release of the atlas rising update. Every little thing makes me only want to keep trying it out when I have time.
Bought the game on release and loved it as it was but all these improvements are amazing, the team at hello games deserves so much praise for supporting the game for so long and so much, can't wait to pick it up again in VR
Life itself will end once they put GTA in VR
I know. I've been drooling with friends over that ever since we got vr.
Yes, that would be so awesome. And with the Aim Controller..
Been wishing for it since 2013!! The future is here! Well, it’s here on Wednesday but HYPE!!!!
Have not played no man sky for a long time and when I heard of beyond and watch the trailers just can't wait to play the game with or without the vr I might give the vr a try
i still know nothing about beyond.. except my excitement is beyond control!
I said since launch, if they made this for psvr, I'd buy a unit without a second thought. I first heard Beyond update announced in April, bought a psvr within the hour, 3 days to go and man have I not been more hyped for a game in my life!
You are a man of your word!
i havent played this since it first came out. going to redownload it for the VR!
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ NMS is my favorite and it just keeps getting better!
OMG. You just increased my already insane hypelevel to over 9000!!! I own this game since the start and liked it very much. Havent played it for months now... so I will start from the beginning and wont come out of the VR until I have a descent ship to cruise around.
If you have a descent ship then how will you take off? ;)
I bought my psVR and NMS pre owned a few months back JUST FOR THIS. It’s finally almost here and I can’t wait!
I think the dynamic you two have is great. Do more videos together!
What I love lost about this is that it's a full experience most games are 1-2 hours short for $30. This game is endless like Skyrim VR. I am really excited about this. Hello Games came a long way.
So it looks like in a week I'll have to drop money on this game and a bushel of Dramamine. Can't wait I'm actually giddy lol
I've got Wednesday off aswell, looks like I'm ringing in sick for the rest of the week as I'm lost in space 😂
I got NMS on release day and played maybe 50 hours before giving up with disappointment, the news of "Beyond" brought me back about a week ago and im soooo glad i did. VR is going to bring this to an entirely new level and all the other new updates will be a huge bonus.
Leo Towers Yeah dude I cannot wait for the VR drop (obviously 😜). Only played a little outside of VR so looks like I will be getting the absolute best of the game and all in VR! 😁😁
I hope to see you in Universe somewhere dude! 👊
My Gamertag is the same as my UA-cam name if you wanna meet up for any VR Gaming 👍
@@GetToDaChoppaVR with the way things are looking with multi-player i have no doubt i will see you there 👍🏼 i just hope my children grow up happy after losing their dad to NMSVR. Maybe i will see them there too one day lol.
Leo Towers Hahaha! Too true man! My set up is in the living room so i always need to wait until kids are asleep to jump in but I have a feeling I might be staying up until silly o clock to play this! 😁
@@GetToDaChoppaVR Alas, through all the bravado i too am relegated to waiting for the kids to be in bed lol. Since getting back into the game in prep for "Beyond" ive been getting on about half 8 and realising that in what feels like an hour I've played till sunrise lol
I'm so excited for this update :)
I think I’ll start my game over from scratch and play everything in VR.
I only stopped playing this game because 1 day I fell off my god damn frigate into the void of space and lost a lot of important materials lmao
And now you can do that all over again... in Virtual Reality, so you can have nightmares about it! ;)
I was a little hesitant to try my Move controllers, but you make it sound amazing! I will turn it on tomorrow, for the first time, with the Move controllers!
Woohoo! Sounds amazing!
I can't wait to start this game again from the beginning and play in VR.
The hype is real!!!! No Mans Sky could be a game changer for the VR market!!! Can not wait to go inside!!!
I didn't know you could go under water like that, is that new or always been there? As soon as I've finished my xcom 2 run I'm getting back into this.
I've loved the game from launch and have restarted the game with each update - so looking forward to restarting again next week. Love the look of rideable creatures and hope this will apply to the larger flying and swimming creatures too. The base building will be astounding in VR especially the underwater bases!
And M I L K
@@Anisometry and tame and farm (apparently) but riding a wyvern will be fun
Cant wait this is going to look so REAL on the Rift S.
I’m trying hard not to be hyped for this. What’s worrying me about NMS VR is teleport movement. That would be a complete dealbreaker for me. Fingers crossed.
There's both teleportation and free movement
What's this soundtrack? It's the same that was used in their Cyberpunk 2020 series and i want it
65 days of static
It’s currently on sale as well this game is a PSVR must own
Dave has completely convinced me into buying No Man's Sky after watching this video! Just bought from the PS store (which is currently 50% off btw at $24.99) and am definitely looking forward to playing this beauty for not only the first time ever, but entirely in VR as well!
The first thing I'm going to do in the game? Fly around and admire the sights. Maybe even find a black hole. That'll be cool.
I’m gonna build a chair and sit on it
1 Key change I'd like Hello Games to Make for VR (Well, call it a Feature shuffle!) is to duplicate the Space Station Players Appearance Customization Station settings in the Game setup settings,(same as Elder Scrolls Online)
In all the NMS versions to date. You tell us how long did it take you to Discover the Spacestation then Locate the Player customization Pad in the Right hand (Starboard ) section beyond the Vendors stations? Does not scream out at you, conversely on the Left upper level (Port side )of the Spacestation The Transporter portal is Easy to pick out. and of course you'll be blindly using it for the First time until you Figure out several attempts Later How to control it 😳
When you get to the Station all changes are No charge [Quoting myself from an older post] : I had a go changing my appearance ready for Beyond (in the Spacestation) and...Despite first Glances There are 4 other Races to choose from DO CHECK the 10 buttons underneath and You can really make your Traveller Look different.
I can't wait to play!
Defintely going to be getting this soon! Been enjoying WipEout VR a ton this month! Cant wait until next gen when we hopefully have move controllers with thumb sticks!
Id really love to know if they have given the option. Not only because 3rd person is so cool in VR.
But it can also help alleviate MS, after playing for a while, with the option to swap..
Good god im excited. So thankful i have wednesdays off. I just hope the graphics are on the farpoint level and at least a little bit better than skyrim vr. But I have faith in hello games
Just ordered the game after watching this. Cheers Dave. Can’t wait for the VR experience :)
