I have the same love you do for HFW. The difference is that I started Forbidden West knowing I would avoid the main story lines and quests as much as possible in favor of just roaming the world on foot campfire to campfire. Zero Dawn prepared me for this new kind of game play. All former open world games never had such challenging, interesting, puzzling, and dangerous random trekking. I hail from the Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Borderands, and GTA genres. I always felt "on a leash". I am 76 years old. The things that enthrall the majority of gamers today mean little to me. Finding that chunk of gleem in the middle of nowhere after clearing a herd of Apex machines is all I need. The shock of having machines sneak up on me when I least expect it, mana from heaven. They have to cater to the RPG and FPS clientel, I get that. But let's hope Chapter 3 keeps to the tradition of story telling and world building without borders. Thankyou for being a fellow traveler in HFW. My dream? Trekking through an even more expansive Horizon where you could occasionally run into other friendly MMO players. Ahhh on second thought maybe not!
Thanks, what an amazing perspective! I love how you've approached Horizon Forbidden West with such a unique mindset, focusing on the freedom to explore in the world rather than just following the main storyline. yeah, coming from the Tomb Raider, Uncharted, etc. backgrounds, I can understand the feeling of being “on a leash” and how liberating Horizon’s world must feel in comparison. And wow, 76 years old and still exploring new virtual worlds! That's so inspiring -- i wanna be like you! 😄 Yes, I would be very disappointed if the next chapter of the series does not continue to embrace the same kind of storytelling and open world / world-building. Thank you for sharing your journey and passion for HFW. It's great to connect with fellow adventurers who appreciate the beauty of this game as much as I do 💪
Marximus - you may absolutely love Shadow of the Colossus. Another playstation title. It is a beautiful world, and it is full of feeling. There is not too much action, and when it comes it is intense and grand. My buddy and I just loved to roam the majestic world. The art is beautiful, the music sweet, and the story slow, sad and epic. Try it.
I am hoping that Nemesis can be redeemed rather than just destroyed. Also, I would appreciate there being many possible endings to explore! I also hope Lance Riddick is brought back as Sylens as he is the Faustina character who has the longest path to grow upon.
You don't even know how happy I am that the UA-cam algorithm suggested this video to me. I thought there was something wrong with me for feeling this way about the game-too emotional, too nostalgic. But now I see I'm not alone in these feelings, and that brings me relief. The game itself has its issues, but all of that fades in comparison to the incredible story you can experience here.
You're not alone. I was saddened when I finished all the quests in Zero Down and even more so when finishing Forbidden West and its DLC. Up to a point that I wished I could erase both from memory and experience them again. And maybe I will someday replay both, perhaps when the 3rd game is announced.
"Horizon Forbidden West" was a breathtaking experience for me - I hadn’t picked up a controller since the PS2 era, so coming back with this game was like stepping into another world entirely. I hadn’t played Horizon Zero Dawn, so I went in with no background, just pure curiosity, and wow… I was blown away. The world was alive with stunning scenery and depth - I’d find myself just pausing to look at the landscapes, like I was on a journey through some beautiful, broken future. The story had me hooked, almost like I was watching an epic movie, and I couldn’t stop myself from wanting to unravel each mystery, wondering what was around the next corner, where the story was going, and what new twist would reveal itself. Of course, some story elements could be tweaked here and there, but overall, I loved every moment. When the game ended, I honestly didn’t want it to be over. I’ve replayed it multiple times, always rediscovering little details I’d missed, and each time it’s just as captivating. For a game to capture that kind of magic - especially for someone coming back to gaming after all these years - speaks volumes. It’s a masterpiece, through and through.
Both Horizon games made me want them to continue. I'm replaying Forbidden West now and getting close to the end again, so I'm finding side quests and other things I've not done or explored yet. There isn't much, but I'll find it.
@@johez Bruh! I have played through both games about 10 times each. Every difficulty, playing with different strategies, trying to get every trophy, every side quest, every scrap of lore... I seriously love the game, the characters, the overall story arc, the combat and game mechanics. I haven't gotten this obsessed with a game since GTA3 San Andreas. Thanks for the upload 😄
NICE and Wow, that's some serious dedication! 😄 yes, it really is a game that pulls you in with its rich lore, deep characters, and engaging mechanics. I totally get that feeling of obsession-it's rare nowadays to find a game that captures you like that! Glad you enjoyed the upload! 🚀
@@stand_alone_complex5620 Haha same, I played through HZD at least 4 or 5 times but HFW, I knew it was going to be amazing so I didn't rush through it. I played through HFW twice so far, the first playthrough was studious and the second one was just to pick up coils but now, I'm on my third playthrough and finally picked up burning sands. Now, I'm going to do another studious playthrough and make sure I do all of the sidequests again and literally walk every inch of the map. HZD, I literally walked every inch of the map but I haven't done that with HFW as yet. I want to eventually memorize the map to the point where I could look at the landscape and know exactly where I'm at and would never need to use the map again. These guys are definitely masterpieces to me. By the time they release the last one, I should be able to kill every APEX flawlessly with my eyes closed. And I'm not even close to being tired of it. Even HZD, not tired of it at all. I don't play it anymore because.. well.. wings of the ten lol
I resonate with you, bro. I felt it with Horizon Zero Dawn then later with Horizon Forbidden West. After maxing out Aloy and her equipments, I just used the game as a relaxing walking opportunity in the evening, to sooth my mind, handle stress. Almost never run, never used a mount, never used Fast Travel. I have ~1200 hours in ZD and ~1400 hours in FW, and still counting. And it's just 2 weeks and we'll get a brand new Horizon Zero Dawn. 😊🤘🏼
Wow, 1400 hours!! that's a honorable amount of time :) yesss, that feeling of using Horizon almost as a way to unwind is something special. I like that you avoid fast travel and mounts, just to stay more connected to the experience. And yess, the Zero Dawn remaster is coming soon -- it's gonna be epic! 😊🤘🏼 thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I just ended the 2nd game some weeks ago and I'm a bit twisted. On one hand, it's still endlessly relaxing to enjoy the breathtaking environments, on the other hand, it can feel a bit lifeless, now that just about every quest is done and interaction with other characters is therefore pretty minimal.
@@merion297 The problem (for me) is, that there is no *new* interaction with Aloys friends after having done all quests, and having the same lines repeated again and again takes away some of the immersion that one feels while playing through the game. So now there is 'just' enjoying the admittedly captivating landscape and fighting some of the more humongous creatures now and then. Oh, and trying to get all possible outfits and face paintings, but these don't add much in terms of interaction.
@@stephanhuebner4931 I see. Yeah, I miss that as well but I don't expect it because that's much much studio work and face capture. If, for example, in part 3, they wire the AI into the NPCs, that will solve the problem and we'll get infinite interactions. 😏
When the credits song played after the opening section of the game, and we went with aloy through the journey of the first game and into the West, leaving her friends behind... I got genuinely emotional. I was moved. The beautiful song performance really captured the pathos of her transition into the west and her change and growth as a character to start this new journey. It also emphasized how isolated she was feeling and how disconnected from the world with everything she'd learned. That really set the mood. it's just right for her to grow and change over the course of the game as she expanded her in her Circle and trusted people. I had some ups and downs with the story choices in the game, but ultimately I loved the environments, I loved the side quests, and I love the characters. This is my top franchise right now in the gaming industry.
I find myself loading up the game just so I can run/fly around and look at stuff. I've beaten it twice, but will probably do another play-through shortly before the 3rd installment releases (same as I did with HZD).
Yess, the game is very beautiful, I also spent hours just exploring and soaking it all in. And yeah, nice idea -- doing another playthrough before the third game drops sounds like the perfect plan! 👌 if I have the time, I must do that also.
My favourite story in any video game ever. How everything puts toogether, how suprisingly scientifically accurate every detail is. Powerfull and inspiring protagonist. Overall amazing experience. Hope to see well made tv show although it would be very hard challenge. I want this story to reach many new viewers.
"Leaving an empty void in my soul" was exactly how I felt completing HZD on my pc knowing that I probably had to wait a couple years before HFW would release on pc. After a while I rebooted HZD and played through the entire game a second time, seeing new things I hadn't seen before and again I cried a second time at the ending credits. Now I can finally play HFW on pc and I'll probably cry again at the credits once I've finished it. Such amazing artworks from Guarilla games, unbelievable!
I completely understand that feeling! It’s epic that even on your second playthrough HZD could still evoke such strong emotions. Now that you’re diving into Forbidden West, I’m sure you’ll find it just as breathtaking. The storytelling, the world-building, and the artistry are on another level. Please, enjoy every moment - it’s such an incredible journey!
I should play it again also! haha, I think they just wanted to somehow show / journey through the world of Forbidden West, and they did it with Sunwing :D
Thank you very much for your experience! I can really relate to that. I was never really into PlayStation games since PS1, but then I found and played Horizon Zero Dawn on PC - and was stunned. Characters, story, visual effects, music, gameplay... it was so perfect. Especially the lore, the inevitable end of all life on earth. After so many apocalyptic scenarios in games and movies, this was something that could absolutely happen in 40 years. After “HDZ”, I was truly lost. So I bought a PS5 just to play “Forbidden West” and see what happens next. They did a lot, maybe a little too much side by side, and yes, the story about the Fare Zeniths isn't that “exciting” and Nemesis doesn't have the WTF moment where you find out what Zero Dawn was, but I loved tying everything together, making new friends, learning about new cultures, and finding a way to save the planet with my friends or at least buy us more time. What a masterpiece! I still love just wandering the lands or flying and resting while taking in the incredible views. Both games left me speechless and I still think about the scenario and how we will end up like the ancients.
Thank you for sharing your journey with Horizon - it's great to see how these games brought you back to PlayStation after all these years! Yeah, I felt the same about the apocalyptic scenarios. Yes, there’s something special about just exploring the breathtaking landscapes and atmosphere when playing Horizon. They are indeed masterpieces and HFW left also me speechless / empty in the end. Thanks again for connecting and sharing your thoughts! :)
You're right this isn't a review. It feels like a love letter. Beautifully delivered with awesome background music. I felt your love for this game in this vid, as I did playing and you brought back those emotions for me. Thank you. I aggree with everythin you say in this vid. I'm subscribing just for that, even if you never make another video. Awesome job, I may play this game over just because of this video
Thank you so so much!! It means a lot to hear that the video brought back emotions. Yeah HFW became somehow super meaningful game to me. I’m so grateful for your support and subscription-that motivates me to keep creating. and if my video inspired you to dive back into the game, that’s the best outcome I could hope for. Thanks again for such a thoughtful comment!
Fully agree, I was sad when I finished this game, and continued with it to get the platinum trophy just because I didn’t wanna stop playing it. This, and TLOU2 are my fave games also; if you haven’t played Death Stranding, I’d recommend it. It’s a slow starter and takes a while to click, but I loved the visuals and story telling in that game also.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :) Yeah, me too. Death Stranding is interesting game and I'll maybe play it at some point! now they are releasing (i think) soon the second part of DS(?)
I felt the exact same way. I love this game so much it's genuinely impossible to describe. I cried when the credits finally rolled, and treasured my first playthrough as much as I could until that moment. Now, with the remaster of Zero Dawn, a game I have purposely left alone so I could have much of the same experience as my first time, I hope to reawaken that spark of curiosity, that drive to explore in a game like I've never felt before.
I understand how you feel! It’s hard to put into words how deeply Horizon can impact you. yeeeah, I also cried like a baby during the end credits, it was hard.. 😅😅haha, but it just shows how much the game resonated with us. Nice, I hope the remaster brings you that same magic all over again!
Omg same here. The story is so good and it’s so sad that the John wick voice actor passed away. He made the game what it is. Just got the first horizon remastered and see how that fairs. Awesome game and very underrated so so much fun and many many hours in to it!
Was sad when I finished this game but then got excited for burning shores!! Definitely 1 of my fav games ever. You should play this on the pro it’s so much better !
U mean Playstation Pro? Yess there is definedly more fidelity and details with that :) it's maybe too expensive for me, but i'll maybe buy PS6 when they launch it! Horizon has became now one of my fav series also
I've had that feeling from HZD and then when I got forbidden west it just got so much better. Along with the better movement and more in depth combat. HFW just reminded me why I love these games so much
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. There’s so much to appreciate about this game, and I just wanted to focus on the positive aspects that make it so special. Thanks for watching!
Your video reflects my own feelings perfectly. I was already mesmerized by the first game, due to its frightening and frighteningly good storytelling, so much so that, even though Aloy had some kind of development, the main story overshadowed everything. I only finished the 2nd game a few weeks ago, so my feelings about it are pretty fresh. And I did not want it to end! I felt a loss when the credits rolled, especially so after the DLC. I didn't expect it to be as good and as captivating as it was but imho, it was even *more* breathtaking, especially the environment itself. So much so that I truly felt like wandering through a forest or a desert. And the flying over those wonderful landscapes tops it all. Even the diving was mesmerizing. Character-wise, I loved to see some of her old friends reappear and being able to interact with, and there was this one, almost heartbreaking moment, something that rarely happens in games these days, I think. I also loved to see Aloy grow and wisen up about what's important, all throughout the game and especially in the DLC. It seems that there's a bit of controversy about its very end, but I think it fits Aloys development perfectly, that she came to find that fighting for an anonymous population alone isn't enough, that there need to be special people that one deems worth saving and worth fighting for. In that regard, it kinda reminded me of the story of The Matrix, where the love for Trinity was essential for Neo to fulfill his mission. This comment is already too long, but another thing you said rang true to me: It will be hard to top the experience of these games. I may be a bit too enthusiastic, but I regard them as high up on the ladder in open world games as I do regard Hollow Knight in the genre of metroidvania games, in every regard.
Woow, thank you for such a thoughtful and heartfelt comment! :) It’s amazing how Horizon resonates on such a deep level for so many of us. yeah, with Forbidden West, I felt the same sense of loss when the credits rolled. There’s just something about the world and game's / Aloy's journey that makes it so hard to say goodbye, especially after the DLC ended.
@@johez Thank you as well for your video. It brought on some bittersweet feelings about the journey that I had just ended a short while ago. Another thing: I think something important for the immersive feeling is the "imperfect" hero. Somebody with self doubts, unsure about their path and shortcomings of a normal human being. If this is true, the quality of the animations/cutscenes deepens this immersion even more. That's what I thought had been done to perfection in Hellblade I and II as well. I know I tend to babble too long (sorry for that), but with these games I think the scientific theory of mirror neurons comes into play, which are said to activate in an observer the same way they do in the observed person. We see the protagonists emotions on their faces and feel the same way.
Thanks, that's exactly the impact I hoped for. You make a great point about the "imperfect" hero. Yeah, seeing Aloy’s emotions so vividly on her face does activate something in us as players, letting us feel what she’s feeling on a more deeper level. No need to apologize for sharing / babbling - i like this kind of discussion :D haha, Thanks again!
I think I feel exactly the same way you do and I see in the comments too that there are many people who are deeply touched by so many elements in the game as well. I will miss Lance Riddick as Sylens. I love that you really explore everything in the game which I have done as well and am doing again in HZD because I felt I went through my first game play way too fast. Have fun everyone and enjoy!
I have been playing it completely in VR. I am absolutely loving it and will just wander as I wonder. Diving, flying, water effects, landscapes, intensity... So cool.
I sunk 280+ hours into HFW. One of the best worlds ever to explore with phenomenal combat sequences. I just wish they improved more on the story and dialogue. That would’ve made it a timeless masterpiece.
omg 280+ hours is amazing time! yeah, I couldn’t agree more about how incredible the exploration feels, and the combat -- super intuitive i think. It’s just one of the best open worlds out there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!! 😊
@@PanosVasilakis So it took that much hour to finish a single run + all side quests? Or did you start a new game+ and then complete it again? My 50-hour gameplay was just the main story and about 50% side quests.
I zero dawn was my first PS4 game that I played in 2017 when it came out, I just started forbidden west and I'm terrified at the thought of finishing it, because if it's like what happened with the first one I'll end up feeling that sense of emptiness exactly as you mean, they are games that leave something inside you.
I completely get that! yeah, that feeling of emptiness after finishing FW's journey is very real. They’re more than just stories - they’re experiences that sticks with you, at least for me. Please, take your time with Forbidden West and savor every moment.
@@Cixxio imagine playing the 2nd one first..the story without aloy's story and background is a game were i had tons of questions.. And when these questions begon 2 reveal, I started other things te begrijpen. It made the game for me, soo much more mindblowing.
I have few games that give me similar feelings. Horizon ZD/FW, The Last Of Us Part 1/2, Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2. I guess all have beautiful world.
Nice list of games! :) many has said that RDR2 is a must play. Yeah I have also played Last of us 2 and that's a very memorable journey to play through, super! Thanks for commenting!
Same here. This game is something special. Best gaming experience I had. Re-listened some tracks from the OST tens of times. Aloy's theme and Promise of the West / A promise to uphold is forever in my heart. This game is also a great example of why graphics DO matter and why "next gen" isn't just a marketing gimmick
@@johez ^^^ I also love music from the Burning Shores and alternative version of In the Flood (Gemini). Can't believe they placed Aloy's character evolution and the game's main idea of having good friends who will always have your back into a simple & aesthetically beautiful and atmospheric song.
One of my favourites for sure, this game and its world and story is something I think atleast a couple of times a week. I liked this personal style of "video essay", it's nice to just hear a personal story sometimes. Neat!
Thanks so much! 😄 I’m really glad you enjoyed the personal style. And totally, Horizon is one of those games that sticks with you, always staying in your thoughts. Appreciate the kind words!
I've _loved_ playing HFW. I started with the PC release back in March, and am now on my third playthrough. The Burning Shores DLC adds some really nice features and weapons, giving you a lot of options to experiment with different playstyles. My first playthrough was using the Nora Thunder Warrior outfit for a general all-around build, my second was the Tenakth Vanquisher for a low-health/weapons-techniques build, and now I'm using the Tenakth Tactician for a low-health/mounted-combat build. And then after that there's the Quen … Commander, I think? for trying a low-health/melee build. There's so much depth to the game, you really can keep finding new things on multiple playthroughs. But I'm like you. Sometimes I just have to stop whatever I'm doing, look out over the landscape, and let the music play. It's so well-done. Once other thing that blew my mind: when you start a NG+ and go back to the beginning, it's really jarring how different Aloy's character is at the start from where her journey eventually takes her as a person. You don't notice the change when you're playing, but snapping back to how she was at the start makes it really apparent. Credit to the writing team for writing such a drastic character arc so subtly that you don't even realize it's happening. Excellent video! Well done.
Thanks so much! Wow, I'm impressed you're already on your third playthrough - nice! Burning Shores was epic! And yeah, I totally feel you on stopping just to take in the landscape and music - it's like the game demands those little moments of awe. Oo okay! It’s wild how you don’t even realize how much she changes until you see the contrast. Yeah, huge credits to the writers! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and happy gaming on that fourth playthrough! 🎮
Yeah! The Tallnecks are such a unique part of the Horizon world. There’s just something epic about climbing them and taking in the view from the top. Glad to hear you’re enjoying both games so much! ❤
as someone that didn't love Zero Dawn, I was surprised by how much fun I've had with Forbidden West, they improved on the base gameplay of Zero Dawn in every way I hoped they would, questing, exploration, skills, combat, it just clicks. My nitpicks are minor, maybe the loot system could be improved and melee combat but even if 3 doesn't change much I'll still have a blast.
yeah, it really seems like they refined every core aspect of the game-quests, exploration, skills, and combat all feel much smoother and more engaging this time around. If Horizon 3 manages to keep building on this foundation, it’s going to be an absolute epic to play!
I've played both games twice, each time 200+ hours and currently playing FW again (new game +) approaching 180 hours and still I am finding new things to do. Loving every minute.
Not so strange one doesn’t want Horizon Zero Dawn or Forbidden West (Burning shores included) to end… Its deep storyline pulls you in and makes you want to explore more and more. Same goes for Days Gone and The Last of Us II in my opinion. All open world games with a great storyline and (believable) wonderful characters. To me it makes no difference that as a man, I play a female fictional character. If a game is good, it’s good. That’s what good role playing (as this is too) is all about, it makes you BELIEVE you are the main character. Kudos for you for sharing and for liking the game this much (like I do and a lot of others) The Photo mode is also quite wonderful to play with btw 😀
Absolutely, I couldn't agree more! These games really do make you want to keep exploring endlessly. And you're spot on about Days Gone and The Last of Us II - (though I haven't played Days Gone yet) Last of Us II definitely had that incredible ability to draw you in with its rich narrative and believable characters. If a game is good, it's good, regardless of the character’s gender. I also forgot to mention (in the video) that I played both The Last of Us II and Forbidden West with headphones on, which made the experience even more immersive! 👏 And yes, the Photo Mode is such a fantastic feature! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😎
@@johez You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for your comments and for sharing your thoughts on these games😉 Days Gone is something you definitely would appreciate too, even though it’s a different genre and has a little outdated graphics compared to some of the more modern games 🤷🏼♂️
My pleasure!👌 Yeah that's what I've heard about Days Gone! Outdated graphics doen's matter to me that much 😎 i must play it sometime when i have the chance!
I feel like everyone has their game that they cant let go off, For me its Marvel`s spider man , its been installed in my console ever since it came out. And once i got the ps5 the first thing i did was to buy the remastered version of it. For me a 10/10 game is all about, it making you feel things. And i`m glad people have their own games.
Absolutely! Everyone has that one game they just can’t let go of, and it’s epic how Marvel’s Spider-Man has been that for you. I haven't played it yet but I can imagine that it is goood! I like how you define a 10/10 game as one that makes you feel something. that emotional connection is what truly sets certain games apart. I'm glad too, and thanks for sharing! 🎮😊
Have you traveled in the United States? The games are set in the west, Zero Dawn between Colorado and Bryce Canyon, Utah, and FW between Zion and San Francisco. Visiting these places IRL enhances the sense of loss in the game's backstory, and the wonder at how the developers represented the landscapes. I will say I like the story and music far more in Zero Dawn, but I was stunned at the graphics upgrades and the overall scale of Forbidden West. I spent hours in photo mode in Zion canyon, Plainsong, and Yosemite valley.
I have once visited United States, but not these places which are in HFW! :) it’s amazing how Horizon brings these real-life locations to life in such a unique way -- I can imagine how visiting these places in person would add a whole new level of depth to the game’s story. haha, spending hours in photo mode sounds like the perfect way to take it all in! Thanks for sharing :)
I have always been a "casual" gamer at best. But Horizon Zero Dawn captured me....and I remained captured through Horizon Forbidden West (and of course the DLC to each). I will certainly play Zero Dawn again when the "remaster" come out. Yes...the graphics/world in the Horizon franchise is amazing. There certainly were times I just "explored" for the sake of exploration. Peace.
I can totally relate to that! Yeah, there’s something so captivating about its world and storytelling that just keeps you hooked, and it’s awesome to hear that Forbidden West had the same effect for you. And yes the graphics are super amazing! Peace to you too, and happy exploring! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
The Zero dawn was an outstanding experience, I still adore my time with it. But forbidden west ? It just feels like .... I don't know. It never clicked with me like the first part did. I can't even remember what happened in the final, while I still can remember that fight from the first part like it's been last week
I completely feel you! Both HZD1 and HZD2 are those rare games that you just don’t want to end. I hope that the next chapter will be just as captivating as the previous games! :)
Sony made their AAA games on ps4 so good and so amazing in graphics that it was sick. God of War, Tsushima, Horizon, Last of us etc etc are the best that game scene can offer. I absolutely loved Days Gone as well... That game is for me same special as horizon. Sony deserves credit for these games. They really tried to keep last gen alive with SP games
Yes indeed great to hear! I also liked TLoU 1 & 2 a lot! And currently now I'm playing GoW (4) for the first time :) and about Days Gone, actually my friend has also suggested many times the game to me, that's it's super good! Sony deserves lot's of credits, yeah. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
@johez tlou 1 is masterpiece but honestly last 2 is even better for me in every aspec. I never understood that hate. Regarding the Days Gone.. Really, play it. It is so damn good, so many great things. It was one of the best of all those amazing AAA exclusive games they had.
Yes! Me neither didn't understand the hate it got. for me also TLou 2 was especially masterpiece! Okay i understand, Days Gone is a must play and at some point I'll dive into it :)
I really love Horizon. The thing is, I live the gameplay kn Horizon Zero Dawn so much, but it is a bit different in Forbidden West. When I started HFW I just finished HZD and I couldn‘t play it because of the different gameplay. It made me so sad cause I love the game so much. Now it has been a moment since I gamed it, maybe I can try again with HFW 🤞🏻
Hi! okay, thanks for sharing :) for me the gameplay didn't feel so different, but i can imagine it CAN be like that. 🤔 Yeah, maybe giving Forbidden West another try now, with some distance from Zero Dawn, could be a great idea. The world and story are epicly captivating, and you might find the gameplay clicks better this time around, hope so. 😊 thanks for commenting!
I've played through a couple of times... it's a great game with something that is lacking in many games... a true heart of a story... one that is both personal to Aloy and has wider connection to the world... I too look for the next chapter in this story with anticipation.
Imma be real I have like 440 hrs in this game and I beat it and I’m still playing it cause this game and its gameplay is super addictive and is one of those few games that is my top favorite game of all time and I adore every moment of it I remember playing zero dawn and I thought it was boring then out of nowhere in 2023 I saw the forbbiden west footage and was like damn these graphics looks great and then boom it clicks with me so I decided to replay zero dawn again and start from scratch and I actually start ti enjoy even more and more and with forbbiden west damn that game was magic in my opinion it made my 2023 gaming amazing alongside with totk (my favorite game of all time) but yeah I will never forget this game and I hope there the horizon multiplayer is still coming but I can’t wait for horizon 3 day one buy
Omg, 440 hours is incredible! It’s amazing how Forbidden West clicked for you and even changed your perspective on Zero Dawn. Sometimes it just takes the right moment. Yeah, I completely agree - FW feels like magic, and it’s one of those games that sticks with you long after you finish it. And it’s awesome to hear how much it made your 2023 gaming experience unforgettable, especially alongside Tears of the Kingdom. And same here, I’m so hyped for Horizon 3! Day one buy for me for sure or maybe I'm just gonna order it in advance :D And fingers crossed for the multiplayer - it could be a cool addition. Thanks for watching and sharing your journey with the game - it’s always great to hear how much it resonates with others!
I’ve had three play throughs. Each time I replay I have to start with Zero Dawn and continue on to the Forbidden West. It always feels like a journey. And I play it that way because I didn’t want either game to end. Beit I came in as a major critique. And now it’s one of my favorite IP’s
Wow, three playthroughs! That’s dedication! so nice to hear from other fellow players that they don't want these games to end either :) yess, Horizon series became definitely one of my favorite IPs now too! Thanks for sharing your experience! Have you discovered any new details or secrets on your multiple playthroughs? :)
1000 hrs later I do wish Forbidden West would never end. But if you want a game that actually never ends, I would suggest Final Fantasy XIV. Now there's a game that may outlive us all... 😳😳😍😍
The next Horizon game needs a better release date. Though I am not crazy for BotW, Zero Dawn was quickly overshadowed by it. And Elden Ring was just a crazy game to try to compete with
when i played zero down i played the main adventure without finishing all the possible stories and at the end of the game i was sorry. when i played forbidden west i started the game with the goal of playing all the missions and secondary stories before facing the final part of the game. i didn't want it to end. of course after playing it it's difficult to find games of the same quality.
Thanks for commenting! :) I totally get what you mean! I think you made a great choice with Forbidden West - going through the side missions and extra content really add so much depth to the world. and as I said, in the video, I didn’t want it to end either! And yeah, finding games that match that same level of quality afterward can definitely be tough. huh!
@@johez there are a lot of things to find Around that world, for example I remember when ai fond a little isle in the ocean where to stay i little bit ....( I do not Want to tell you more)
Best game I've ever played :) I definitely didn't want it to end either. Now I am replaying it on Ultra hard from a fresh start (no new game plus), just got Demeter. I've actually damaged my controller while playing because of the stress haha, the rubber is coming off the joystick. It's well worth it :)
Haha, that’s dedication! 😄 Ultra hard -- wow respect! Sounds like Horizon is giving both you and your controller a serious workout! 😂 The rubber of my controller's left stick also came off because of the intensity of the fights 😎
So much this, all of it. I had really no idea what Horizon was back in November 2023 but then Sony had a crazy Black Friday sale with Zero Dawn on sale for under $20. I jumped right in and was HOOKED, played it nonstop for the next month until I beat it. Quite frankly, Zero Dawn is the *greatest* video game story I've encountered in recent memory. Once I beat Zero Dawn I immediately jumped into HFW on PS5 and what an upgrade that was, in so many ways. Beat that too and since then, I've gotten both games on PC and am playing them again just to experience it with a mouse and keyboard-- and even though I've done this before on PS5... I don't care! At the end of the day, Horizon is my newest video game obsession (and I don't have many) and you bet I *can't wait* until Horizon 3, even if it's five years from now.
Man, I feel this so much! 😄 Nice Black Friday sale! yeah - same thing happened to me, I was hooked from the start. The story in Forbidden West really is something special. It's awesome that you're replaying them on PC now! Is it better gaming experience with mouse and keyboard? And yessss, Horizon 3... even if it's years away, I'm waiting for it. This series has become one of my all-time favorites too. Let's hope the wait will be worth it!
@@johez Probably the most beneficial thing with mouse and keyboard is that using a mouse is SO much more "free reign" when it comes to aiming your weapons, and you can respond faster than with the controller. The tradeoff though is that the Dodge motion where you roll to avoid stuff? It's mapped to Left CTRL underneath SHIFT which is Run. I never really roll as a result because I don't think about it based on where my fingers are for normal movement. So if I want to roll, I have to remember to actually reach down with my left hand and it's not something I actively think about as a result... if that makes any sense?
Haha, I get you! 😄 Yeah, aiming is definitely easier on PC -- but for some reason, I kinda like it on PlayStation too. Maybe there's a better key for dodging than Left CTRL? 🤔 When I think about my own playing on PlayStation, I dodge A LOT!
While I love HZD and HFW, I think the game that did for me what this title does for you is Shadow of the Colossus. It has feeling, sweep, grandeur, sadness. As much as I love that game and this one very much, TLOU 1 and 2 are my all time favourites. The moral dilemmas are beautifully developed and viscerally gripping.
I haven't even played Shadow of the Colossus yet! Yeah, for me too, TLOU 1 and especially Part 2 were super awesome and at the same time, tough games - they stick with you for a long time after finishing them. The moral dilemmas and the way they pull you into the characters' struggles are just on another level.
I'm still working on 100% completing (as well as uncovering all data points and fog) the game after playing through it once to focus on the main story. I'm a little over 100 hours played so far, and I am counting the days till Horizon 3 is revealed. As for Zero Dawn, now that I've put in over 700 hours. I don't like to compare the two games as they are quite a few years apart. However, I will admit that Forbidden West has better visuals, and the character expression is far more realistic. Not to mention that the boss fights and cinematic grandeur (especially in the Burning Shores) blows Zero Dawn out of the water. But, Zero Dawn will always have a special place in my heart. Maybe because it was my first introduction to the story and world of Horizon, or something about its beautiful imperfections, but Zero Dawn is definitely my favorite in the series so far (I'll have to see if I hold the same opinion once I play Horizon 3). I love the story and lore of Horizon, and I think it is probably my favorite work of fiction. Horizon Zero Dawn, is my all-time favorite video game.
That's an awesome dedication to the Horizon series! It’s super cool how you’ve invested so much time in both Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. Yeah, Forbidden West really leveled up in terms of visuals, character expressions, and epic moments, especially in Burning Shores. I agree, the epic boss fights in Forbidden West felt bigger and more intense, and the cinematic moments were just breathtaking. Wow, 100% completion is a huge task! I’m also counting the days until Horizon 3. It’ll be exciting to see where the story goes and how it compares to the first two. I'm hoping Horizon 3 raises the bar even higher! :)
I love the world, i love the combat, and i especially love that the graphics are so good and run so well. It's just that, i don't really like aloy 😂. Lego aloy has more personality. Horizon aloy is always so stoic, so distant, keeping all her friends at arm's length. You were raised by a loving father, aloy, he gave up everything to give you everything he could, even his life. If anyone has a reason to be so sour it's him. The writers were so afraid to give aloy any personality, they had to make a clone to transfer some weakness and depth of her character
I really like the Horizon games. I bought Forbidden west day one. The only other game that was a day one buy for me was The Last of Us Part II (Nice to know it is also a favorite of yours) But unlike TLOU2, I have a hard time liking Alloy. In TLOU" I liked the characters, even the ones I didnt really likee (Boring Mel and Manny) or when I really disagreed with the characters decisions. I was all in. With Horizon, I love the world, love the gameplay, everything about it I enjoy, but Alloy kind of gets on my nerves, I find difficult to like her as a character. I am looking forward for the 3rd entry, I think it will be amazing and I hope they make her a bit more likable. Anyway... Nice video 🙂
Thanks so much for watching! Yesss, the Last of Us Part II does an incredible job with character depth :) With Horizon, I agree that the world and gameplay are on another level, and the environments and exploration are just amazing. it’ll be interesting to see if they add more layers to Aloy's character in the third game. Thanks again for the thoughtful comment! 🙂
you're not alone, but I got more invested with Cyberpunk world (pc), that game was harder to let go. Theres a video somewhere where someone explains why they can't let go of Cyberpunk, alot of people related to that video
Okay yeah! I haven't played Cyberpunk yet -- but because I have played Witcher 3 I can imagine it is just like that you said :) Cyberpunk is on my list of games that must be played at some point.
I don't think the story and character development is that good. The acting is somewhat dead. Especially if you compare it to Mass Effect Legendary Edition. I like this game and its predecessor for its physics. As for the climbing it is criticized to being obsolete next to games like Assassin's Creed. There's no climb marks. You simply climb.
Yeah, the physics and world mechanics in Horizon, are really impressive. The climbing system has its pros and cons, too -- u can of course turn off all the yellow indicators if you want, but yes it's not so versatile as in Assasins Creed. Thanks for commenting! :)
The graphics were great, but the whole point of getting great graphics is so that the artists can do what they want to enhance the game. That artists did a wonderful job with this game, and the graphics techs made it possible for them to do it. This really was an excellent game, though. The first game had a better main story, IMHO, but this one did better at everything else, from side stories to gameplay.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙌 I totally agree - the graphics really shines in Horizon Forbidden West. The visuals are stunning, and they really elevate the whole experience. Yeah, and if they fix some of the Forbidden West issues to the third game, it's gonna be so awesome!! 😄
Good video. HFW is one of my top 5 games of all time, and my favorite open world type game. I believe that a big reason for it not receiving as much positive attention as it should, in addition to what you mentioned that Elden Ring was released near the same time, is that there is an agenda by some people against entertainment which has a strong female lead character and/or LGBTQ+ characters, and some reviewers feed off this agenda by posting very strong negative reviews which generate a lot of clicks creating a false narrative that the work of art is very poor and not worthy of positive attention. Fortunately, there are also many reviewers who judge a game by its own merits if a consumer can sift through the other ones who are just generating clicks for negativity. I finished HFW with Burning Shores recently and look forward to playing it all over again at some point in a couple of years.
Thanks for your comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I completely agree-Horizon Forbidden West is an incredible game and absolutely deserves more recognition. I think you're right about the bias some people have against games with strong female leads or LGBTQ+ characters, and it's unfortunate that some negative reviews focus more on these biases than the actual quality of the game itself 😕. Hopefully, that will change someday. I recently finished Burning Shores too-and while Forbidden West was already stunning, they somehow managed to push the graphical quality even further with Burning Shores! 😃 Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
@@johez I finished the main story of HFW several weeks ago, then before I played Burning Shores I played Ghost of Tsushima which is a pretty good game but unfair to compare after the great HFW. I almost always dislike DLC but I had read good comments about Burning Shore so after Ghost I played Burning Shore and was blown away that it's just as good as the main game, with several different gameplay elements as well. I'm playing Star Wars Outlaws now and it's good, but I still have to try to push aside any comparisons with HFW. I'm very encouraged that HFW ended with a clear indication that there will be a 3rd game in the series.
Yeah, I felt the same - once you've experienced something as well-crafted as HFW, it's hard not to hold other games up to that same standard. For example, I jumped straight into playing Final Fantasy Rebirth almost immediately after finishing HFW, and as much as I love the Final Fantasy series, it was tough to adjust to the different game mechanics and the less smooth camera movement compared to HFW. The new gameplay elements in Burning Shores were definitely a refreshing addition, making the experience feel fresh while still staying true to what makes HFW great! Star Wars Outlaws sounds like a fun adventure too! And yeah, I think the third installment of Horizon series is definedly coming at some point.
Slamming the game for the lesbian romance REALLY bothers me because that romance consists of about three minutes at the end of the DLC and is completely optional! If you don't like it, then you simply don't select it, and it never happens.
@@johez En oikein muista enää. Mietin just, et alottasko taas uudestaan kun nykynen buildi alkaa olemaan liian ylivoimanen :D Muutama video omalla kanvalla ko pelistä kanssa.

But still a great experience i will keep 4 rest of my life !!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! It's awesome to hear how Forbidden West grabbed you! Playing 14 hours straight, wow! -yeah, technical issues can definitely take away from the experience, but it sounds like you still found many good moments, especially in the Burning Shores DLC. Your list of favorite open-world games is epic - I have also played Witcher 3 (it was super), and Cyberpunk 2077 is on my list of future games! I could actually make same kind of video about Witcher 3 as this video is 😂 Hmm, there’s just something about open-world games that make them unforgettable, right? one of the reasons is maybe the freedom :) and of course story is always super important aspect
I didn’t want it to end either, because the end was total rubbish! 😂😂😂 Up until the final battle where you storm the island but don’t have anything to do with the main battle, and then the chick turns on you predictably and then the malevolent garbage piles from space is coming and all so ridiculous and boring. I’ll still be playing Horizon 3, but it was such a let down.
This game isn’t perfect… buts it’s pretty damn close, sadly slept on by many. I’m on my 2nd run, and taking my time, trying to get every nook and cranny (except Strike, don’t care to play… at all😂, but I can still appreciate the variety they were providing). Only played ZD once (still loved it), and sold it. So it’s unfortunate that I’m not going to get the seamless $10 upgrade for the ZD Remaster, but idc - I’ll still buy it.
I hear you - no game is perfect, but Forbidden West comes pretty close! Nice, a second playthrough! yeah, I get it about Strike, i didn't play it either - not every mini-game is for everyone 😊 i would also love to play the remastered ZD!
What stands out for me is the animation. Movement is a form of expression. There are other games with comparable level of graphics. But none has this level of animation. The story is not that good. Character development is really not that good. For story and character development my favorite is Mass Effect Legendary Edition. But I revisit both Horizon's by far the most. For me the reason is if you like hunting this is the game for you. I cannot say Forbidden West is better than Zero Dawn. Each have their qualities. Graphically I prefer Zero Dawn. It looks more real, on a PC, not console. The console version is lacking. Forbidden West colors often is to unrealistically vibrant. Btw, Zero Dawn on the PC almost looks like a different game than on console, especially at the widest field of view setting. I also like Zero Dawn because I can make the HUD much smaller than Forbidden West. I play both games with the music turned off. Motion blur and depth of field turned off. I've posted videos of them for things I like about them.
That's a really interesting take! Yeah, the level of detail in the animations of HZD and HFW are amazing. I hadn’t thought much about the difference in color tones, but yeah maybe HFW is more vibrant. I liked that though. :) i have to try to turn the motion blur and DoF off at some point to see how it looks. thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
@@johez btw, turning off motion blur only looks right if your setup can support high frame rate. I'm doing 120 fps in native 4K with anti aliasing turned off also. I like a crisp image. I can't see pixels on a 27" 4K monitor. The monitor is HDR and does 1000 nits w/ 384 dimming zones.
somehow, thanks to this game and it's predecessor, HZD, i could not enjoy elden ring (in fact i hated it), god of war, even star wars jedi survivor... those are all sitting on my PS5 waiting to be played and i've gone thru HZD and HFW countless of times, both on the PS5 and on PC...
Is it that HZD or HFW are too good? Yeah, straight after I finished HFW I started playing Final Fantasy Rebirth, and IT WAS REALLY HARD to enjoy that (even though FF is my favourite game series). Omg, I totally get it. Sometimes when a game is just too good with its gameplay and world, it makes it tough to fully enjoy other games. Maybe if you take some time off from HFW, you could be able to go back to those other games with fresh eyes. :)
Crazy to me, Zero dawn was sooooo good and much better than FW. Forbidden west the moment the Zeniths entered the story, it all went downhill imho.. Kind of like when the robo mech ninjas suits were introduced to Ninja Kamui. There are so many issues with the writing and story of FW. And take away the graphics, zero dawn is better in all aspects.
Hi, I get where you’re coming from! yeah, there is definitely a shift in storytelling / tone compared to the Zero Dawn. That said, I think Forbidden West excels in gameplay improvements and exploration, but I agree that if you strip away the graphics, the narrative and emotional impact of Zero Dawn might resonate more. But i somehow liked those also in FW, but it's just my opinion. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts! :)
@johez indeed. I can see how and why you would say that. For me the way Regalla was introduced perfectly then went on to be wasted and completely ignored until the end. -Sylens being underutilized. -A lot and I mean a lot of characters from the first game not returning. -Even the story elements and threads from the first game are completely not brought up in FW. (Like the identity of the person in the chair after Ted kills everyone. There is a missing body besides Elizabeth) And the craziest thing about the whole game is that from the beginning in zero dawn, the forbidden west was said to be very dangerous and that it was kind of like a place not many would survive, yet we see a tribe like the Utaru existing, and in general in hindsight, it just didn't deliver on that aspect. Don't get me wrong a wonderful game but it was clear a lot was left on the cutting room floor in favor of the zeniths, graphics and new characters that just didn't seem like they were hardened or survived in the forbidden west.
You bring up some great points! Regalla definitely had such a strong introduction, and it’s a shame her character didn’t get more depth or screen time. Yeah, I also agree that Sylens felt a bit underutilized this time around. Yeah, that's true! haha, Forbidden west was hyped up as this deadly place, but the tribes and world didn’t always reflect that level of danger, like you said about the Utarus. But yeah, it’s still a fantastic game. Hopefully, Horizon 3 ties up some of these loose ends makes the experience still better somehow :)
What I ddnt like was the wokeness they added in the game. But I enjoyed the combat of the game. It was fun. I wish they made Sylens a playable character. He is the real MC
Yess! yeah haha Sylens as a playable character would definitely be interesting; he would have such a unique skill set that it would add a whole new layer to the gameplay. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
It actually is a meh… and not as food as its scores suggest. Why? Play the first game and see the story and return to see. It is another attempt to make a game without content… main issue with the first game was that at some point the game was too fast and jumped into open world without introducing the culture enough. And showed the story very early too. Second game was nothing, just a shell without story…
Horizon Forbidden West was different yeah, some changes that might not have landed for everyone, compared to the original. For me it was occasionally like that too, but it didnt' bother me too much. My feeling was that they took the original game and made it better in so many ways (at least for the most part). Yay, thanks for sharing your perspective! It’s interesting to hear what different fans value in these games.
Meh it's not a bad game.. But I'm near the end and I am actually a bit bothered that I'm underleveled so need to grind more before facing Erik. Can't imagine playing it twice. Same as the first I pretty much figured out the story and plottwist in the first hour of playing. (tho I still am looking if I'm right about another plottwist) Again not a bad game, just "ok"
Yeah, it can be frustrating to hit a point where you feel underleveled and have to grind, especially so close to the end. Not every game is for everyone, and it's totally fair to feel that Forbidden West is just "ok." Sometimes a second playthrough can change the experience a bit! 😁 thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Ive been playing video games since the 90s, for me Horizon zero dawn and forbidden west is a masterpiece.
Yeah! Me too and for me it was also a masterpiece!
For the love of God... no MMO... don't even joke about it 😆
@@davidhunt313 Sadly Lance Riddick passed away some time ago. There's even a memorial IN the game to honour him.
Haha nice! I'm so glad the algorithm brought you here!
Thanks for your lovely comment!
Both Horizon games made me want them to continue. I'm replaying Forbidden West now and getting close to the end again, so I'm finding side quests and other things I've not done or explored yet. There isn't much, but I'll find it.
Awesome to hear! I should also play Forbidden West second time through. Yeah, there's lot's of stuff to do in these games 😃 Thanks for watching! 🙌
Just started HZD remastered, 3rd playthrough. HFW is next once again. 😇
@@stephanhuebner4931 Please elaborate. I couldn't exactly grasp the problem. :)
What a beautiful reflection on the game’s opening moments! yes, I totally agree, that transition scene really is something special
Thanks for your thoughts! Same here! Yeah and if they make the TV-show i hope it's on the same level of like The Last of Us or Fallout (tv-series) :)
Same here.. Got emotional hearing the soundtrack after a few weeks.. That was crazy
Yeah! i know the feeling 🥹
Bro...my OCD... Why can't you 100% heal ? 😆😆
it’s why I’ve played several times. I hate it when the sunwing finally flys in the end credits to “In The Flood”
I should play it again also! haha, I think they just wanted to somehow show / journey through the world of Forbidden West, and they did it with Sunwing :D
Fr. That's prob the best game opening ever
@@johez Absolutely. Hopefully Horizon 3 won't be so long in coming!
Yess! yeah I think also it's very underrated game. So nice - have fun with the remasterd version of HZD :)
HFW just reminded me why I love these games so much
I totally agree that! Horizon Forbidden West really took everything that made HZD great and elevated it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
What a beautiful video and a refreshing one too! I finally hear someone talking more positively about this game, thanks.
Both of these games are a true love for me. The only games that I wished that I could just live in that world.
haha, yeah! while I played, I imagined that happening many times 😂
Yes, I completely relate to that! After publishing this video, It has been amazing to see how many people in the community feel the same
I have been playing it completely in VR. I am absolutely loving it and will just wander as I wonder. Diving, flying, water effects, landscapes, intensity... So cool.
omg, nice! I have been wanting to test the VR version of HFW! :)
I don't own a VR headset, but being able to experience this game in VR could possibly be something that could motivate me to save up the money...
272 hours.. i loved it
🤩 that's an epic number of hours in the game! nicely done!
@@johez thanks🙂
272 hours! Bro, you're literally Aloy 😂. I played 50hrs though
@@thedotKel i finished all the main and side quests, thats why i stop or else i will still playing lol
Totally with you on that! 🙌 The music in this game is something else: Aloy's theme, Shelter from the Storm and In the Flood are one of my favs
@@johez ^^^
I also love music from the Burning Shores and alternative version of In the Flood (Gemini). Can't believe they placed Aloy's character evolution and the game's main idea of having good friends who will always have your back into a simple & aesthetically beautiful and atmospheric song.
Absolutely! the music is telling the story just as much as the dialogue or gameplay. Gives me chills every time!
I don't think I'll do the other difficulties, but i completely agree. I love both games smch. My fav thing abt them is the wholesome tall necks ❤
Yeah! The Tallnecks are such a unique part of the Horizon world. There’s just something epic about climbing them and taking in the view from the top. Glad to hear you’re enjoying both games so much! ❤
I agree this game is amazing I just don't understand how its not that popular
yeah me neither! It should be! :) thanks for commenting!
The first open world game that was so stunning I just walked the whole map .....taking my time
haha :D nice
I kept visiting forbidden west for half a year after finishing everything in the game… Just digital tourism
Yeah, HFW definitely has that kind of world where you can just wander around and enjoy the scenery. Nice, Digital tourism! :)
Finally someone who plays games like I do
Nice to meet u too! :) great to have you here!
as someone that didn't love Zero Dawn, I was surprised by how much fun I've had with Forbidden West, they improved on the base gameplay of Zero Dawn in every way I hoped they would, questing, exploration, skills, combat, it just clicks.
Loving every minute.
oh wow! sounds epic! I spent somewhere around 120-140 hours in the game and also loved every minute
And yes, the Photo Mode is such a fantastic feature!
I felt the same playing the game and specially finishing it.
Yeah! i totally get you! :)
Ive been holding off playing Forbidden West. Im still slowly grinding thru zero dawn. Im too hyped about finally getting into Forbidden West! 😜
Haha, nice! And when you start Horizon Forbidden West, you won’t want the game to end xD. But have a lot of fun with it when you get to play! :)
amazing . . i hope you went Throu NG+ . and get all trophys . its really worth it
Amazing! I played the game only once but maybe NG+ I play at some point in the future :)
The Zero dawn was an outstanding experience, I still adore my time with it. But forbidden west ? It just feels like .... I don't know. It never clicked with me like the first part did. I can't even remember what happened in the final, while I still can remember that fight from the first part like it's been last week
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :) yes ZD is epic! haha okay! Well, FW is not clicking with everybody then i guess :D
I love this franchise. And its only the 2nd game. Hoping they make a 3rd game.
Yeah me too! :) I think it will come.
Horizon is the only "mainstream" AAA franchise I'm interested in ATM
Yesss! :) it is one of them
i also end the burning shores and get ghost level 60+,, and i reinstall windows and never get back the backup save for FW 😭
ouch! that's a bummer. :/ ..Well, now you HAVE TO enjoy the game again from the start 😅
I didn't want HZD1 to finish, same for HZD2. Hopefully, there will be a final HZD3.
Yeah, maybe giving Forbidden West another try now, with some distance from Zero Dawn, could be a great idea.
I couldn’t agree more! Yeah, with the third game it’s going to be exciting to dive back into that world again!
I just started HZD and already fell in love with the game. I'm sure to move on to HFW next. 😍
YES! Good! :) yeah, HFW is a must play!
It really is such a beautiful game
it is yeah 🤩🤗
@@johez yea a few Easter eggs. From
Zelda in the cauldrons to Death Stranding.
wow nice! :D
I didnt knew i needed a Zero Dawn remastered. I cant waiting to replay the first game!
NICE! :) i could also play the remastered, it looks epic
1000 hrs later I do wish Forbidden West would never end.
But if you want a game that actually never ends, I would suggest Final Fantasy XIV. Now there's a game that may outlive us all... 😳😳😍😍
Wow that's a honorable amount of hours! :) 1000h! Yess FF series is my favourite series and FFXIV is great!
The next Horizon game needs a better release date. Though I am not crazy for BotW, Zero Dawn was quickly overshadowed by it. And Elden Ring was just a crazy game to try to compete with
Yeah! that's right! :) yes, Elden Ring just took over the internet back when it was released.
when i played zero down i played the main adventure without finishing all the possible stories and at the end of the game i was sorry. when i played forbidden west i started the game with the goal of playing all the missions and secondary stories before facing the final part of the game. i didn't want it to end. of course after playing it it's difficult to find games of the same quality.
Thanks for commenting! :) I totally get what you mean! I think you made a great choice with Forbidden West - going through the side missions and extra content really add so much depth to the world. and as I said, in the video, I didn’t want it to end either! And yeah, finding games that match that same level of quality afterward can definitely be tough. huh!
@@johez there are a lot of things to find Around that world, for example I remember when ai fond a little isle in the ocean where to stay i little bit ....( I do not Want to tell you more)
😎 yeah okay! Sounds epic
I'm from the future, play and enjoy HZD Remastered, i'll meet u again when H3 got released
Yeah, haha :D HZD Remastered is so gorgeus! my mind is blown!
A love letter to my favorit game. Thank you brother ❤
Thank you so much, that means a lot! I'm so glad my video resonated with you. It’s an incredible game ❤
Great video mate
Thanks so much! 💯🙌 and thanks for watching 💪
Have you tried your HUD on Dynamic, very immersive
I haven't actually! :)
Played tf out of it and loved it so much. Can’t wait for a 3rd
Yess! me too
While I love HZD and HFW, I think the game that did for me what this title does for you is Shadow of the Colossus.
I don't want it to end so I don't always play it.. spending time on it very carefully
🤗 nice! enjoying it carefully 🙌 good!
I too hope that Horizon 3 can top Forbidden West, but that is a pretty tall task, especially considering the ending of Burning Shores.
well, i had just got the remaster upgrade for HZD so i guess i'll hv to start playing that again once it's released in Nov!
NICE! :)
Yeah. After I complete Forbidden West again, I'll play through the main story of Zero Dawn before I play the remaster.
I totally agree with you... 😉
yeah! :) great to hear!
Both games are masterpeices. I only hear "the dudes' complaining about it.
Yep! That's just right.
It won’t. There will be a 3rd game
Yes, there will be a 3rd game
I don't think the story and character development is that good. The acting is somewhat dead. Especially if you compare it to Mass Effect Legendary Edition. I like this game and its predecessor for its physics. As for the climbing it is criticized to being obsolete next to games like Assassin's Creed. There's no climb marks. You simply climb.
Yeah, the physics and world mechanics in Horizon, are really impressive. The climbing system has its pros and cons, too -- u can of course turn off all the yellow indicators if you want, but yes it's not so versatile as in Assasins Creed. Thanks for commenting! :)
I hate when machine respawn, i just want to walk after i complete the main story.
🤓🤓 hah, yeah
story-wise HFW is kinda like the middle child... so there's always a bit of a challenge pulling that thru
Yes, I agree
Joo tätä tullu nyt pelattua ihan liikaa ...
Keksii aina uusia tapoja pelata niin ei käy aika pitkätks :D
Haha, kyllä kyllä! Onko montakin kertaa pelattu läpi? 🤠
@@johez En oikein muista enää. Mietin just, et alottasko taas uudestaan kun nykynen buildi alkaa olemaan liian ylivoimanen :D
Muutama video omalla kanvalla ko pelistä kanssa.
Noice!! vois ite yrittää tykitellä uudelleen ennen ko kolmonen joskus julkastaan, ja myös ton HZD remasteredin 👌😎
i loved H.F.W but wasnt that found of 1st game unfortunatly...But i really just couldnt stop playing the 2nd game when i got it i went from o hours to 14hours or something the 1st gameplay and after that i just keept on playing until i reached the Burning Shors"DLC"! where the fps just died for me on my rtx3060 12gb i5 12400f...but after a little changes in settings i could atlest play through the dlc,but sadly the best of the game was due to my issues w hardware or what the issue now was made the dlc sadly less fun(i loved almost all about the dlc+that island was a change from mainland in visuals w its new stuff and i will remember the boat ride at the dlcs start w eloys new "friend"! that was a great moment i think...Not many games that managed to get the gameplay n story that great and i still jump into the game every week for a short while after i finished it+i also bought REMASTERED H.Z.D...but even if it looks better its my pc that cant 100% the game sadly....
Other games i loved n will keep at top of the list(some migt not agree, but together in these games i put several 1000s of hours!)
Witcher 3
CP2077
AC.origins
AC.odessy (or how its spelling is aaarh!) ofcourse valhall is a great made game also, but i tired of it and still havent finished it to this day...but got it installed still!
Red Dead Redemption 2...."Just like witcher 3 i will probably never forget the 1st playthrough and how much feelings it had, sadly rdr2 is not even close 2 ndtime i played it SADLY so!)
So what more games have u all the same feelings w as Horizon forbiden west???
I have realized that all my favorite games are all Open World games...why his is i dont know??
Is it the same for u when it comes to games w story, visuals n feelings during the 1st playthrough??
Thanks 4 video...Great game, sadly would have been even better w right hardware 4 me!
I could actually make same kind of video about Witcher 3 as this video is 😂
Hmm, there’s just something about open-world games that make them unforgettable, right? one of the reasons is maybe the freedom :) and of course story is always super important aspect
A especial game for me 🫶
I didn’t want it to end either, because the end was total rubbish! 😂😂😂 Up until the final battle where you storm the island but don’t have anything to do with the main battle, and then the chick turns on you predictably and then the malevolent garbage piles from space is coming and all so ridiculous and boring. I’ll still be playing Horizon 3, but it was such a let down.
🤣🤣 haha
Seu vídeo me fez chorar de felicidade. Me sinto da mesma maneira que você, desculpe por escrever em Português eu tô com sono e indo dormir.
No problemos, fortunately we have ChatGPT so I translated this. I thank you for you comment and glad you enjoyed the video
The monitor is HDR and does 1000 nits w/ 384 dimming zones.
ah okay! That's an impressive setup -- wow, running the game at 120 FPS in native 4K must make everything look incredibly smooth and crisp!
I found the first one too difficult even on normal difficulty 😂.
So I finished it on easy😢
For me also it was super difficult on normal mode 😅😅 changed it to easy 🤣 but FW i played with normal/hard mode.
Absolutely the best game ❤ very sad when it ended too there seems to be nothing like HZD or HFW
yeah thats right, i agree ❤️🙌
somehow, thanks to this game and it's predecessor, HZD, i could not enjoy elden ring (in fact i hated it), god of war, even star wars jedi survivor... those are all sitting on my PS5 waiting to be played and i've gone thru HZD and HFW countless of times, both on the PS5 and on PC...
Man you accent is fking beautiful
I dont know if that was a compliment or sarcasm but thanks, it's because I'm a Finnish guy trying to speak english 🤣😅
There is a missing body besides Elizabeth)
And the craziest thing about the whole game is that from the beginning in zero dawn, the forbidden west was said to be very dangerous and that it was kind of like a place not many would survive, yet we see a tribe like the Utaru existing, and in general in hindsight, it just didn't deliver on that aspect.
Its incredible
Yes it is! 💯👏
(tho I still am looking if I'm right about another plottwist)
Again not a bad game, just "ok"
Yeah, it can be frustrating to hit a point where you feel underleveled and have to grind, especially so close to the end. Not every game is for everyone, and it's totally fair to feel that Forbidden West is just "ok."
Sometimes a second playthrough can change the experience a bit! 😁 thanks for sharing your thoughts!
There will be a 3rd game so dont be sad
Yess! haha, that's right :)
