  • My 2014 Ford Transit Mk8 Camper conversion done mostly with 2020 aluminium extrusion, prioritizing a 4 seater dinette with a twin swivel passenger seat, a shower/washroom and toilet, a Murphy bed using a self made aluminium box section frame, side facing rear lounge. With all the highs, lows, successes and failures of a first time self build.

How did you attach the inner bit? The blind?
I'd never buy anything off Shield autocare again. What a useless, arrogant bunch of arseholes they are if you phone up for advice!!

If you mean as a whole with the surround - you need some sort of finished ceiling to attach it to. If you check my later videos, I've done a tongue and groove ceiling, attached a couple of battens to the skylight frame, then screwed the surround to the t&g ceiling. For the purposes of this video, I temporarily screwed the surround to the skylight frame so that it appeared complete.

Although there's nothing wrong with screwing it to your frame as a permanent solution 👍
