No need to apologize Vin. This video could have easily went for another 20 minutes. In the beginning y’all videos were pushing an hour which I absolutely loved. I still go back to those and rewatch some of them for the value filled and educational topics of discussions. Dialogue for this one was excellent, it left me wanting more.
You guys should really talk to Nergal. Make it happen guys!
Nergal actually noticed them with the reaction of God=Dog and talked pretty good about what they said, despite the obvious religious differences he said they are intelligent people, so I think, if a meeting happens, it could be a really nice talk
He literally shouted them out at a show so come on make it happen

It's amazing really 😂 but its amazing because i feel like they strike a balance of understanding and appreciation that many Christians wouldn't offer. Many Christians i know would look down on them for watching behemoth videos in general because its ungodly. But i find it super fascinating the way they can bring out the parallels and metaphors because i wouldn't be able to appreciate these songs without the commentary. I just thought behemoth was a good band and never minded the lyrics until i saw these guys react to blow your trumpets Gabriel. Really cool perspectives and I'm jealous they actually got to see them live!

Vin, thanks for your insight into what Nergal is trying to say in this song. You're right, Nergal, as stated in his book, does not believe in a higher being but believes in man. And another point made by you and Sori was spot on that he aims for "shock" value in his video, but the meaning of his videos are very deep and the artistic value is top-notch. Again, I appreciate the biblical background you bring to the table to relate to what Nergal is trying to convey.

@Malcolm Reynolds It's not what I think. It's what's written in the Bible. For example, Jesus was a Jew and stuck to the anti-gentile traditions of the time. Spewing hate for them. God was not for the dog gentiles. God was for the Jewish.
I don't remember the exact scripture but wouldn't mind looking it up for you.
The only real disagreement I have is Vin & Sori tend to stray many times from actually analyzing the song itself. Granted I know they are "reactionary" as such.
Also, While Nergal has indicated he believes in "Man" as divine, He and the band DO believe theistically in the personification of Satan or Lucifer. Nergal, And I believe also Orion particularly, Subscribe to rituals based upon OTO/Crowleyist Satanism. And I'm aware that Crowley at times varied his stance between belief in a divine Antichrist/Satan/Dragon trinity, To also espousing a doctrine of the God in Man, And Man being a god or god itself individually. Point being, That regardless of their percieved stance, They do practice a form or concept of Satanism ritualistically.
Read his book, Or watch past intetviews and they will allude to their personal beliefs, But not always blatantly spell it out.

If you are literal believer then yes Jesus would be right there with us enjoying the music and entertainment. Because if you are a believer then none of this happens outside of gods will. That's my understanding if it anyway.

I have to say you guys are a pleasure to watch. I'm an atheist, can't say I'm very fond of anything related to religion, but above all I respect intelligence and autocritic. When I find someone that is a believer but is intelligent and well aware enough to recognize all the faults of his faith (or his faith representatives, which is different) I respect it a lot and I like to engage in those conversations, it contributes to our personal growth and awareness. You guys are christians, but the good ones. Intelligent, aware, eyes open, your faith don't restrain you from criticizing what's wrong, and for that you have all my respect and admiration. Thanks for this channel.

I love the symbolism in this video. Especially a church strapped on the back of that figure. Just like the maze, filled with deadly traps, that contained Pandora's box was strapped on the back of the titan Cronos.

The behemoth breakdowns were what brought me into your channel, so more is ALWAYS better when it comes to the discussion! I also completely agree with your point on how dramatic Nergal is in his movements during performances! Seeing behemoth live this past year was amazing especially with Nergal's ability to display such emotion and power in his movements
Not a Christian, don't normally agree with Sori but spot on with the Pope. Pope is not needed, tell him to get bent. Anyone who calls themselves Christian with a set of open eyes could see that you would chase Christ for all answers not another sin filled dude on a throne...

Crazy thing about it is...that image on the cross is not disturbing to me....as it states in the bible...Christ was beaten beyond recognition as a man (Isaiah 52:14)....he literally looked non-human....just bleeding flesh....the reality is much worse than the fiction. I do like Behemoth tho. They use their videos to invoke thought along with their message......and that im all about.

Another band you should really check out is Lantlos. They're an interesting fusion of Black Metal and Post-Rock. Check out Pulse/Surreal or Minusmensch. Both from their album .neon, which is incredible.

The imagery is very strong in this Behemoth video,well they all are. Their lyrics really make you think,and that's what music is supposed to do, to provoke,to take to heart and to feel. The video to me is about the weight of the church and the faith people put into a particular figure being,one the head of the church. It could be Jesus as well. The weight of the church on his back, the faith of every single human being on his back. The nails all through him, the sin of everyone pierced through him. The burning of the cross is mankind turning their back on him. Leaving him there to perish. I know this isn't what Nergal or Behemoth meant, but it's what the imagery meant to me. Anyone can interpret what they want,and I think that's what Behemoth is all about. Being yourself,being an open book and to conquer all obstacles that life throws your way. Great reaction to the video. I teared up seeing Sori sad. Sorry that you are not feeling well,hope you feel better. All the best to you,Vin & Sori. 😀🤘🙏

amazing song, absolutely amazing! i wonder how effective this kind of rhetoric is. or rather, what is the intended audience? i have trouble imagining a christian hearing/seeing this and having any kind of chance of interpreting it close to how it was intended. but as a former christian, still studying its history, fucking amazing.
That is a fantastic translation about the video and the song, tbh. Behemoth's Nergal always preaches people to stray away from the Herd Mentality and get your own understanding of things. It is something I thoroughly enjoy, watch peoples various translations about Behemoths music videos since they lack context thoroughly.

I have a suggestion for some material for you both to review that would fit your show quite well. Back in 2006, an album called Crwn Thy Frnctr by Psyclon Nine was released. Psyclon Nine's release of this album was a hybrid of Black Metal and EBM (a specific form of Industrial) with elements of Noise integrated. I think that you'll both find a great level of interest in diving down this rabbit hole. The song that stands out the most to me is track 7, Scar of the Deceiver. Most of the songs on this album are catchy and stand out in their own respective ways, but I think that this song is a good starting point.
One other note that I forgot to mention. Orion is the pseudonym of Behemoth's bassist.

Great reaction video! You guys should check out Gehenna - Touched And Left For Dead. Traditional Norwegian black metal but this song is a slow pace song with really creepy atmosphere. One of my all time favorite slow black metal tunes!

I've learned so much and my faith is actually stronger after listening to Behemoth.
You know that’s actually interesting I was actually at a point where I was ready to walk away from my faith altogether and at the time I was listening to blasphemous music like behemoth but the more I listened to them the more I began to grow closer to God again, it might sound weird but I’m glad that it happened like that because now I’m stronger in my faith than I was before.
