I’m much a photographer than a videographer and I learned much more about color grading here than other “photo edit tutorials” here in youtube. Keep up the good work!
You gave me a wonderful understanding of how to color grade in general and the explanation of the curves was IMPRESSIVE to say the least. Color grading is new to me and it looks very daunting but you managed to show and teach me how to properly look for what I want and how to choose color for specific details rather than jjst adjusting everything altogether. Thank you so much Joris!!! This is why I followed you in the first place, you're just really good at teaching these things
Thank you! I’m a CapCut user but i don’t shoot dlog because it will take time in post production and i do travel vlog with my family.. i will try this for some cinematic scene in my vlog. I’m using osno action 4 thouhg
I have been looking for this information for months “if it is possible to colorize in cap cut”, I congratulate you for your videos. To expose Slog3 on a Sony A6700 do I always have to expose in 1+7? Or does this not always apply? When Cap Cut exports, does it have the same image quality as DaVinci or does it compress? Thanks again! Greetings from the Dominican Republic
Hey Joris, I happened to come across your channel and noticed you're from Belgium too, cool! I've been into photography for many years and only recently started making some amateur intro videos-not so easy, to be honest. Thanks for all your videos! Greetings from Heist-op-den-Berg
great tutorial, as always. One question - in Davinci Resolve I like to add an adjusment clip and do all the color grading there, then drag it over all the clips I have in the timeline (or maybe not all of them, it depends). Can this be done in CapCut also?
Shooting in log format provides a wider dynamic range and greater flexibility in post-production. Log captures more detail in highlights and shadows, which is especially useful when applying color grading or filters. This allows for smoother transitions and more creative control over the final look of the footage, resulting in a more polished and professional appearance.
@@VictoriaGranath No, of course not. It's all a matter of personal preference. Color grading allows you to be a bit more creative and create your own look. But definitely not a necessity! 💯🫡
joris, whats a free software that lets me grade 10bit footage from dji pocket 3? Davinci resolve free doesnt work with the 10bit h265 footage pocket 3 records in! plz help
But, but, my hands are empty and lonely. 😢Yet, since we are both dudes, you don’t by chance have a sister that can hold my hand? 😮😅 This explanation is simple and easy, nice. It would be good learning to make our own luts, think that would help in learning and doing colour grading. Have you ever used OpenShot, which is free?
Da Vinci Resolve is waaayyyyyy better and it's free version has ~90% of all feature of it's paid version, and paid version is also pretty affordable with one time payment for lifetime pro access... Only if my potato-ass laptop could run it😅 Even in many movies from Hollywood DVR is used, especially for color-grading.
Hallo Joris ich habe eine Frage ich nehme meine videos mit ein anamorphic linse auf wie kann ich das Video Material in capcut in die Breite ziehen?were echt super wenn du mir da helfen könntest Grüße 🫡
First, select a clip. Then go to the Basic video settings on the top right and disable the Uniform Scale setting. Now you can scale width and height independently. 💯🔥
Well, I wouldn't say it's easier per se because I use all these techniques also in Resolve but there's a lot less stuff so it's less overwhelming and probably easier to learn everything.
Color grading is an art, just go on as you wish, try to tell the story with colors. Thanks for this video, now I am more confident

Nice video ✅ educational
very thanks you Teacher :)
How is this not getting more likes
🤷🏻♂️🥲
How to do this on Capcut mobile
do you use capcut pro and shall we go for pro or free is enough?
great tutorial, as always.
One question - in Davinci Resolve I like to add an adjusment clip and do all the color grading there, then drag it over all the clips I have in the timeline (or maybe not all of them, it depends). Can this be done in CapCut also?
u mean copy them? if yes. yes you can
Yeah you make an adjustment layer, then drag it across all your clips
now I get the use of curve
brabo.
Can you please tell me how you created that text flicker effect?
Nice
Really ...thanks ❤❤❤
Woha ❤🎉 thnk...
Can you use capcut free version for commercial use on youtube ? So monitized videos ? I only use the commercial text options and stickers
I want to know how to make good video quality on CapCut. Is there any advice for me, sir?
Why do you shoot log if you‘re going to apply a filter anyways?
Shooting in log format provides a wider dynamic range and greater flexibility in post-production. Log captures more detail in highlights and shadows, which is especially useful when applying color grading or filters. This allows for smoother transitions and more creative control over the final look of the footage, resulting in a more polished and professional appearance.
I see images of santo domingo 😎💪 at 00:40
Is there anyway to preset the your color grading?
what's that blue layer that appeared at 2:34 ?
Hey question, how to you get to see the wave under the video? It does not appear for me.
do you have any idea how to add cinematic bars? There used to a basic effect but it's gone. Any ideas? Thanks!
Off the top of my head I think it’s on masks maybe there’s a few options and the bars is one of them
I don’t understand, do you always have to color grade videos to make them look cinematic or can you get away with just using a basic filter??

Not sure actually. When I was using the free version, I converted my 10bit 265 footage to ProRes.
@@JorisHermans how did you do that? What program did you use to convert it to pro res?
Good question, I don't remember which one it was but I bet if you google "free open source prores converter" you'll find a few.

Hi, how you have color wheel and i dont?
I actually don't. It's a Pro feature. I mean, I can use it but I can't export the video if I do...
