Another incredibly sad tale is that of the Vampires, they used to sit confortably at 7.0, arguably some of the best. Now they're 8.0 and completely unusable.
I love encountering wyverns in my P-63. They can't run away. All they can see is me ominously creeping towards them. They have two choices - either wait for me to catch up with them or turn and fight me. Being attackers, I get them when they're relatively low. They can dive away for only so long before they hit the ground. And because so many people are bad at wyvern, I always get to kill them. It's not easy but I don't really remember getting killed by wiverns.
He-100 is a wild card plane If a newbie tries to turn in it, it becomes easy prey (I'm not even a good player and was able to 1v2 a squad of them that tried to dogfight me after a head on merge and won, with me using the two-gunned I-16) But a *good* player will turn it into death, destroyer of worlds, I remember when I was a beginner in arcade and a guy in a He-100 screwed my *entire team* by going from head on to head on at full speed And yeah, I hate P-39s with a passion, it's just hellish trying to face them with planes like low tier italian or japanese fighters
The J7W1 has 3 good things. 1: It's good at dives both shallow and not. Of course, the 4 30mm's are beneficial and the acceleration is fine however that said. It is still currently missing a certain portion of its historical speed, as well as 2 extra propellers. Since irl it had 6.
The J7W1 was also designed specifically to be a bomber interceptor, so if you ask me, it should get an interceptor spawn. I think that would help to fix it somewhat, but then again, that's putting a band-aid on a 3rd degree burn.
@@conarteest2939considering how even the 152C-3 is somewhat usable because it has airspawn i am sure that the shinden would work quite well if it ever got one.

The P-47D-25 and -28 once went all the way down to 2.7 in arcade air. The hordes of idiots using their Thunderbolts to dogfight zeroes and spits drove the BR down and down and down. Meanwhile, I was laughing while playing a plane that was literally 200 kph faster than any plane they could meet, outclimb them as well, and the 50 cals would tear planes at that BR to shreds, even before the introduction of the M20 flamethrowers. The BR algo is indeed the most retarded thing Gaijin has ever made.
Gonna add Ki-94 and Ki-87 to the list. Kinda the same issue with J7W1: nice-looking planes with good guns and high-altitude performance and nothing really else to mention, sitting on BR for super pistons and early jets. Actually, Japan is a nation that consistently gets "zombiefied" by Gaijin, probably because of high average skill of jap mainers. Just look at BR changes for A6M5 and J6K1. Also, need to mention Lansen. And A-32. And G.91 YS. And so on.
Lansens are just competent cause of the good players, nothing exceptional and it faces 104s every Match as a swedish Main i think the lansen is kinda bad but the j29F sitting in 9.0 just cause it has wep and 2 aim9bs makes no sense
I agree with the Ki-87, no sane player will play that thing. But to me the Ki-83 is kinda like the XP-50 of 6.0 with its insane climb rate and airspawn at least before the engine overheats.
@@Ren23114 J32 is my third most played plane if I correctly recall and I havr a 3:1 kdr on it. Higher than most othet things I fly. It's actually extremely good as it can stick dogfights with mig 19s if they don't play it right. Overall the J32 is a more comfortable subsonic mig19 with more missiles and guns.
Correction, XP-50 has been nerfed drastically. They took away their WEP which essentially halved the climb rate. Considering the ammo other American planes have on display, the XP-50 is short breathed. They also introduced that nerf at a time where maps with airspawns for all planes like Norway were common. So the nerf was uncalled for as the airspawn did not give them an advantage anyways. In my opinion, they should have raised the BR and not take away features the plane was known and promoted for. The power to weight ratio was THE biggest selling point and the reason this prototype was made in the first place. Taking away the power just turns it into a nice-to-look-at plane without significant identifiers other than it's shape. Same issue with the XA-38 Grizzly. It was promoted as having immense power having two B-29 engines on a striker airframe, but they nerfed the power turning it into the same unflyable brick as the Hs-129 Ente compared. If introducing such castrations instead of refining the overall balancing and game mechanic, they should not introduce those planes in the first place! But that's Gaijin to you. Add premiums, nerf the biggest selling points and promote the next premium with similar selling points.
@@Liniyka Geez... It has been 6 years. I still play WT but I haven't been at that BR in a while. The XP-50 became boring/ordinary as they took away it's signature climb rate. I can understand how it is performing well again as most other things have been uptiered around it. But I still miss this helicopter being a helicopter. In my opinion, nerfing something at it's signature is inherently dumb. It's like taking away the afterburner from the first jet with afterburner or taking away the AP belts from the Pulkzerstörer. When doing so, it does not justify selling that premium in the first place and any other nerfs should be considered first, even if it's a cheap one as raising it's BR.
honestly i dont blame them, the wyvern is super op, super low in br, can one rush like hell to a base, one shot it, and then be capable of 1v1 and getting more kills after that, its really good and cheap + plus its conveniently put in a rank where you can grind with it untill you get low tier jets
They don’t balance the vehicles by performance, they balance it so that players don’t get more out of a vehicle then they should. It’s just Gaijin wanting players to spent money on the game instead of earning enough SL and RP. If players spent a lot of money on a vehicle, it magically becomes immune to the algorithm. It’s basically just P2W 🙃

People still believe in muh "algorithm" excuse? It would be great to see the plane statistics and how "algorithm's" choses br changes and how they affect statistical performance. But one thing we are never shown is those statistics, so de facto, "algorithm" is whatever gaijin wants it to be.

Those days when the useless Arado was level 24 out of 20 possible (according to the CEO of the snails), because we got bored and started shooting down planes with a plane without forward-facing weapons. The second part of the balancer problem: if the level of the plane is slightly too high, then bad players simply skip it, and good players continue to fly and show good statistics. This leads to an increase in the level and bad players skip the plane even more, and its level flies into the skies. And the snail game designers are starting to say that this plane is simply excellent (if only they could launch their own game beyond the hangar at least once)
When this came out it was such a nightmare I resorted to shark tactics in my bf109.At the start of the match i would not climb at all, just race to the ground units. The standard a6m5 used to be 4.0. Then it went to 4.3, then 4.7, and now it's 5.0. It's completely outclassed in all but 1 metric. However, it fights America a lot. The player base that is so bad they dropped the f4u-4b from 6.3 down to 5.7
Yeah, which is sad, before I had Moffet, it was my all-go money-maker plane, it's not a ridiculous OP plane, in fact, its a very delicate and slow plane that you need to plan ahead before going into a strike, also keep your awareness on all direction even while dogfighting, and even then you'll have cold sweat if you find an actual player with a brain cell that knows BnZ exist. The problem was, that it used to fight the US team a lot of times,, and as Liniyka said, they had lots of bad players in it, back then, almost every us player went ground-pounding and then got mad as Zero easily swooped in for the kill.
I played the wyvern for a long time at 5.0 in 2016 and I still don't understand how it was lowered so hard. I used it as a strict ground pounder and bomber to bleed tickets and do daily/special tasks in one battle, which meant I only needed to play 2 or 3 games a day to get enough warbonds in 20 days for a 'free' rank III premium with the OG warbond system. That was only 40min or less a day for an easy grind. At 5.0 hahaha.
I play two daily War Bonds tasks every day (and upload the videos). The Wyvern has been my number one attacker for well over 5 years. Over the years, I have seen Wyvern spam come and go several times. But it's something of a one trick pony. Actually two tricks. It's fast as heck and smacks very hard. But it is slow to accelerate, a modest climber, and turns like a bomber. It's _very_ situational.
People say f-104 is broken because its the only USA jet that matches other countries performance. F-15 is 12.3 because of the terrible missiles, I can dodge 15 aim-9m and aim-7 but as soon as a r-27 comes out I die instantly. USA players are "so bad" because they dont take a 12 hour course on dodging r-27, When all it takes to dodge USA missiles is to turn and press flare key. USA players are "bad" because it takes so much more skill to play against other countries with better armament. If you swap USA players to USSR and vice versa people would still say USA is garbage.

i remember the P47D28(the one with actual rudder control past 500kph) had a br of 3.7/4.0 , managed to get a k/d of 28/0 across like 8 games one day. last time i played it was back to 5.0 tho, which i think is about right.
Just wanted to say I never played the R2Y2 during the golden days only picking it up some time last year. The R2Y2 is still a very capable jet I believe the primary reason people don't play it is lack of interest. And the J7W1 is also viable although your positioning matters a lot more than most planes. I didn't play the J7W1 any longer than I had to, but by the time I moved on I had 17 deaths and 55 kills and 111 ground targets killed
I feel like they could definitely improve the way they handle this algorithmically. One way would be to look at the performance of players playing multiple planes at a similar br / role in the last x amount of time. Only falling back to other statistics if that doesn't have enough data.
The funny thing about f104 hate is that all you have to do to counter it is just move slightly then it’s horrible aerodynamics means it can’t aim the gun😂
i talked about how bad planes are so pushed up in BR in the forum, but the forum just thinks i'm just bad in them. I have the highest stats on these objectively bad planes because they're the ones i played since as early as last year after 6 years being a stubborn noob.
@@Liniyka n1k2j and ja, sea fury and f-5e. For the N1K2J; it's slow and compresses horribly past 500ias while turning very bad at most speeds plus hindered by the historical flap retraction mechanism. The Sea fury is basically a J7W1 with the engine on the front and unusable flaps (they don't help you turn, they break at low speeds and they don't help you brake either) , the F-5E while great dogfighter has horrible one circle performance, and since it's a very slow aircraft most people with a brain end up just not taking the two circle bait or going one circle, dodge all day and run away. F-5E got also ruined by the auto flap retraction; if it still was able to deploy flaps above 400kmh it would be good at one circle considering how ridiculously good the takeoff flaps were. I loved it before this BS flap thing and pushed it to 4.0 kill death ratio even since it was 11.0. Now I can't get anything else done.
It's interesting that they've decided to balance the game by ranking only the planes, instead of the planes AND the players. A plane's performance rating that isn't weighted by the player flying it is not normalized data.
Forgot about the Ju288 at 6.0, the light-bomber with an absurd top-speed that's basically impossible to catch, and extremely potent turrets. Also, controversial take; after buying and using the Wyvern for a while, I don't think it's THAT good of a plane. It's decent if you keep a higher altitude, the guns are definitely the best part about it, but it turns like a brick and it seems like most fighters can easily catch up to it if they're in a shallow dive. It should probably be at like 4.7, MAYBE 5.0 but that's kinda pushing it... it also shouldn't be a rank 4 or 5 vehicle, idk why it's such a high rank but it makes grinding the early jets a breeze.
I think It was halo 3's dev team that put forward the 'Develop a profile of the median player, and design/balance a game for them' ethos; and It's one I believe Warthunder would be wise to adopt for itself. For br that would mean trying to balance aircraft in a way for them to be fun and balanced for a Average skill player, whist also being relatively balanced overall (for example an aircraft that is very hard to fly can probably get away with having a lower br then a aircraft that's very easy to fly even if the harder aircraft is slightly better when used properly) Warthunders also a little special since it wishes to be historic, having some aircraft (like the A10) be essentially unbalancable, it's better for aircraft like that be underwhelming then overly strong
@@Liniyka no the games being balanced around the average payer PER JET which is a flawed system, what id want is balance around the average players skill level overall.
The biggest problem is that the balancing tools Gaijin chose to Implement when this was strictly a WW2 prop game - BR, repair cost and rank - are now wholly inadequate. How can you reduce a vehicles rating to a single two digit value with increments of .3 and .7? Due to BR compression, a .3 change to a strong vehicle can have a domino effect, changing the opponent’s it faces in a down tier for example, which then impacts their win rates, causing them to be buffed and so on. No serious game works like this. Characters in RPGs have whole ranges of stats for example. The whole thing is hopelessly broken, and gets worse every time they add new vehicles.

Pretty much any 'murican plane, except maybe Corsairs, can catch up to Wyverns. Mustangs and Cobras are damn fast.
How could you possible miss the He-100, the most horrendously overpowered plane in the game by far. Let's not even talk about the P-39
He-100 is a wild card plane
If a newbie tries to turn in it, it becomes easy prey (I'm not even a good player and was able to 1v2 a squad of them that tried to dogfight me after a head on merge and won, with me using the two-gunned I-16)
But a *good* player will turn it into death, destroyer of worlds, I remember when I was a beginner in arcade and a guy in a He-100 screwed my *entire team* by going from head on to head on at full speed
And yeah, I hate P-39s with a passion, it's just hellish trying to face them with planes like low tier italian or japanese fighters
The J7W1 has 3 good things. 1: It's good at dives both shallow and not. Of course, the 4 30mm's are beneficial and the acceleration is fine however that said. It is still currently missing a certain portion of its historical speed, as well as 2 extra propellers. Since irl it had 6.
Somehow I doubt even 50 extra props would save it... but maybe you're right
The J7W1 was also designed specifically to be a bomber interceptor, so if you ask me, it should get an interceptor spawn. I think that would help to fix it somewhat, but then again, that's putting a band-aid on a 3rd degree burn.
@@conarteest2939 it's fun when stumping ju288 haha
@@conarteest2939considering how even the 152C-3 is somewhat usable because it has airspawn i am sure that the shinden would work quite well if it ever got one.
There are J7W1 reports from 2015 which havent been implemented. Minimum and maximum speed is wrong, flaps are not working correctly, elevator is not working as it should. Its missing 200hp
Those were good times
To be fair the Wyvern WAS 5.0, but was moved to 4.0, now we have this.
And so on.
Oh man, I could have mentioned so many more planes, but again, don't wanna make a 5 hour vid
@@tasterisk6339 Oh, I confused the planes. I meant that event plane which costs hundred of gaijin coins
When was the last time you played WT? That nerf was like 10 years ago, these days XP-50 is the most broken plane at its BR
And yet the XP-50 continues where it is...
I love getting ticket crunched in 10 minutes after wyverns bomb all bases and the airfield
Skill issue, Wyverns cant really turn

YOU ARE A KING GG!
Thank you! After all, only kings play WT
YOU ARE A ___KING __GG__!!
The “zombie plane” phrase is also very accurate because once it gets you, you might “turn into” one yourself by buying the premium.
honestly i dont blame them, the wyvern is super op, super low in br, can one rush like hell to a base, one shot it, and then be capable of 1v1 and getting more kills after that, its really good and cheap + plus its conveniently put in a rank where you can grind with it untill you get low tier jets
EXACTLY THIS.
Imagine if some dudes decided to take a loved plane, go tryhard mode and increase its BR just to troll people
Bro those wyverns randomly under you at 1000 attacking bases
another feature that war thunder needs is to disable the 'want to get ranked with post war enemies', especially in tank battles
As a Battletech Player, whenever I hear a vehicle considered a "Zombie", I have an entirely different context in mind.
Awesome video, thanks for your perspective!
I remember the CL-13 video. I forgot if i saw it on reddit or UA-cam but I couldn't find it again. Laughed my ass off seeing how they put it from 9.3 to 9.7 all by themselves
As a Japanese main, i feel the effects of this so hard, i mean i still get ace games in my f-104j from time to gime, but that plane should never face mig 29s and f-16s, and hey, they did in fact rase the top br so that no longer happened, but it should have never happened in the first place
I’ve been playing WT for a few years, and just found out about your channel.
Great content 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
(I also hate gaijin)
[but i’m addicted to WT, it has drained my soul and wallet]
Thank you!
People still believe in muh "algorithm" excuse? It would be great to see the plane statistics and how "algorithm's" choses br changes and how they affect statistical performance. But one thing we are never shown is those statistics, so de facto, "algorithm" is whatever gaijin wants it to be.

This is why I ditched ARB and moved fully to SAB. Balancing issues have lesser impact when skill required is at the moon.
Many years ago when i bought the Wyvern, it was 5.0. now it's 4.0, it's my best investment
bro has no idea about the ju288
When this came out it was such a nightmare I resorted to shark tactics in my bf109.At the start of the match i would not climb at all, just race to the ground units. I would fly at tree top level to ambush them. taking advantage of my TWR with us both at sea level, I could fight them vertically and sometimes it would work, but mostly not. its a good plane
Hunter F1 FM was nerfed into the deck sometime around 2018. No longer can pull any AOA or roll at all over 800Kph.
What people need to realise, is that if you are going to get taken down and lose a spare plane. Chances are you're going to do everything you can to crash into them head on.... SPITE

The problem was, that it used to fight the US team a lot of times,, and as Liniyka said, they had lots of bad players in it, back then, almost every us player went ground-pounding and then got mad as Zero easily swooped in for the kill.
with this, i just think any light Tank in ground rb mode is a zombie at this point
bro the seafire is a beast
I played the wyvern for a long time at 5.0 in 2016 and I still don't understand how it was lowered so hard. I used it as a strict ground pounder and bomber to bleed tickets and do daily/special tasks in one battle, which meant I only needed to play 2 or 3 games a day to get enough warbonds in 20 days for a 'free' rank III premium with the OG warbond system. That was only 40min or less a day for an easy grind. At 5.0 hahaha.
Yes yes you are all welcome, me and my Ayit are here for you 🤙
l4d music makes that video so much better lmao
oh man, killing floor too!
The Wyvern sells so they won't move it.
As a bad player(at least i consider myself bad) I am doing my part to get god planes downtiered
Why is one of my favorite planes: the me 163 at 8.0, and the second variant at 8.7?????
It's so unholy unreasonable like, wtf
balancing around the cringe noobs was also the reason why the R3 was able to terrorize low tier
We should spam all Gaijin email accounts with a link to this video until they change their balancing methods.
Ngl, before this vid was out I decided to play the wyvern and I was shocked at how busted it was. Been using it to grind the battle pass.

You forgot to mention the best of them all - Do 335 B-2
Just wanted to say I never played the R2Y2 during the golden days only picking it up some time last year. The R2Y2 is still a very capable jet I believe the primary reason people don't play it is lack of interest. And the J7W1 is also viable although your positioning matters a lot more than most planes. I didn't play the J7W1 any longer than I had to, but by the time I moved on I had 17 deaths and 55 kills and 111 ground targets killed
Never had any issues fighting Su-11, with F2h and Meteor (Sea and mk4)
You forget Sagittario at 9.3, with only one type of ammo and 80% uptire rate.

oh bro you mean the sav2012 yeah that's a super op arty with full auto cause it has a 1 second reload lol
Any particular examples?
Italy's mid to high tier got absolutely wrecked by the algorithm just because only good players play those aircrafts
Surprised he didn’t mention the 8.0 meteours
Gaijin must see this
It's interesting that they've decided to balance the game by ranking only the planes, instead of the planes AND the players.
For br that would mean trying to balance aircraft in a way for them to be fun and balanced for a Average skill player, whist also being relatively balanced overall
(for example an aircraft that is very hard to fly can probably get away with having a lower br then a aircraft that's very easy to fly even if the harder aircraft is slightly better when used properly)
Warthunders also a little special since it wishes to be historic, having some aircraft (like the A10) be essentially unbalancable, it's better for aircraft like that be underwhelming then overly strong
The game is already being balanced around the average player. The problem is, your average player is terrible, so the entire system falls apart
@@Liniyka no the games being balanced around the average payer PER JET which is a flawed system, what id want is balance around the average players skill level overall.
The biggest problem is that the balancing tools Gaijin chose to
Implement when this was strictly a WW2 prop game - BR, repair cost and rank - are now wholly inadequate.
For bad planes you can kind of just point at any minor nation TT(looking at you rank 5 sweden) and most of the planes will be mid or bad.
the F2 Sabre never should have been moved from 9.0
That should have been the point where everything was balanced from.
