"you were always a flight risk, everyone knew it except for me" hits so hard. everybody knew he was going to leave me except me. now all i can think about is the pity they must've felt watching me be happy with him
at the beginning of the song I was like "okay it's just a song, a wonderful song...." and then after the lyrics get to the "do you just wanna be free of me" it just touched something buried deep in my heart and soul and hit me so hard that the rest of the song I was crying my eyes out. My whole being just couldn't help responding to the lyrics of the song because it reminded me of my school love that ended badly. Thank you! Despite crying and remember not so pleasant experience it felt really good to cry those tears because it made me feel better.
Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think that Girl Prometheus is a story of a repetition of broken love. Prometheus stole fire from the Gods and gave it to humans, thereby being condemned by Zeus to suffer the agony of his liver being devoured by an eagle every day until the end of time. Ruby suffers the eternal pain of lost love, her delicate heart eaten away by the eagle of hope.
