I came across this song a few nights ago under the impression I lost someone I’d keep and wept with them in mind… I then made wishes to the moon that they would be banished from my heart and find a renewed and better love in its place… hoping if I felt them less I would in turn hurt less…this lead me to meeting him all over again just hours ago (3 nights after the wishes were made) and I’m still taking in the magic of its timing… So I’m coming back to leave this comment on the song I wept to when I made wishes to the moon on that magical night✨🌙

no one manages to capture modern love in their songs the way she does. the descriptions of physicality and the images she uses are all so in touch with the relationships as we know them in the 21st century - she romanticizes the sexual relationship yet she wants more from her partner but is often afraid to say it. i love it but it makes me sad though it does bring me some sort of comfort. can't wait to hear what's next from her ❤️

Tbh i kinda feel like the whole album is about having an "obsessive" love for someone who is abusing you emotionally. I don't think it was an obsessive love thought
It's hard to tell if it's abuse or a metaphor for obsessive love and unhealthy attachment (on both sides; she leaps into his arm after he pushes her) ... I think it's not clearly stated because it can speak to more people that way. Anyone's who has been abused will probably see it as abuse; others, who have been desperately in love with someone totally wrong for them, but not abusive, will find another layer in it.

found this through watching the Party Down S3 Finale about 48 hours ago. great show, etc etc. this song only played as diegetic music for less than 15 seconds in/around the second act (to great effect in service to the story), but i said, "what was that!?" out loud and stopped watching to rewind and shazam it so i could find it and hear the whole thing. as much as i love that show (and i do), i kinda get the impression they were aiming to use the song to add a little fire for that scene and instead it overtook my attention like a bomb went off, haha. what an incredible song! so many intense feelings and memories stirred up! had to go find my cat and cuddle through them. (great video too!) gonna make my way through all your other songs this week at work.

This song touched the deepest part of my soul. Some time before I met my boyfriend, he had suffered a terrible accident where he was actually hit by a train. He is still alive by a miracle, he and his entire being is a miracle that has come to save my life. Reading "I want to lie down on the train tracks with you" has made me shed the biggest tears I have ever shed. because really, I would do everything for him. even being run over next to him if that means being together forever. Right now we are estranged indefinitely, because even though he is the best person I have ever met, the person who really knows how to love me well, shit, he is the first man in 24 years who really knows how to love. and I am already too broken, they have done me a lot of psychological damage and it is too difficult for me to trust a man. Plus, I suffer from borderline personality disorder and that only complicates things more. Despite all this, he is willing to wait as long as he has to wait for him and me to heal from the bad thing that happened to us at the beginning of the relationship due to my problems and some mistakes he made, to be able to make and redo a life together. lay on the floor of our own kitchen together, do all the things lovers do. until we get married and grow old together.
