  • New Milwaukee M18 FUEL Framing Nailers SWAPPING MAGAZINES! In this video we answer some questions about the new Milwaukee M18 FUEL 21 and 30 degree nailers for the #verycoolgang! Lots of people have been asking and saying that the two new framing nailers from Milwaukee tool have interchangeable parts and you can swap their magazines. We put this to the test by swapping magazines on the framing nailers to see if it is possible. If you can swap the magazines back and forth, could you just buy one nailer body and use different types of nails? Let us know your thoughts on these new Milwaukee M18 FUEL framing nailers in the comments section below.

    My 20v 30° started to jam, I replaced the driver and springs, then found the dewalt 21° magazine on ebay that came with a tapered offset metal piece that goes under the nose then similar to milwaukee the hole in the 21° magazine is farther back. It fits perfect on the 20v 30° nailer and it burries 3 1/2" ring shank nails into anything all day! Dewalts nailer bodys are identical. The 30° mag will fit the 21° nailer without the offset nose piece tho. I took a look at my 20v roofer and 20v metal connector nailer, the roofers completely different but it may be possible to modify the metal connector magazine and pos placement nose piece

    Great video Vince. To your question, YES I would love a cordless roofing nailer from Milwaukee. It would be great for fencing.
    Also, you are correct, the HO3.0 battery makes the gun lighter but doesn’t seem to add performance. However, that battery did 27 feet of fence and fired 300+ nails and still had juice left. Also, it was 97 degrees that day.

    • @jmackinjersey1
      @jmackinjersey1 4 роки тому

      Why use nails on a fence instead of screws?

    • @zlspille05
      @zlspille05 4 роки тому

      Jeremiah Mckenna Screws are superior but it’s more about speed. Using nail guns is simply faster. Plus in my experience here where I live, the fasteners are rarely the reason a fence fails. It is almost always the posts rotting or the supports being beaten down by the sun and rain. I do use screws still for certain situations, but generally all nails now.

    • @jmackinjersey1
      @jmackinjersey1 4 роки тому +2

      @@zlspille05 I've always used screws for pickets, and various bolts for horse/ranch areas. Around here, in the South, be it Texas, Louisiana, to Florida, the fences that are nailed always tend to have the nail heads back out. Maybe it is because of the moisture and the wood drying out and getting damp again.
      As far as speed, I use the collated strips.

      Everyone speaks of how annoying the plastic bits are but I don’t see it being an annoyance. Haven’t put the nail gun to use but will help rebuild my fence once the weather warms up. That would be the only reason I put on the 30 degree for less cleanup.

      There is no difference. The difference comes to one of the degrees can hold more nails but the main thing is, the 21 degree is meant for more wet climates because the nails are put together with plastic instead of paper. Paper draws moisture and makes it fall apart.

    Nice editing. At first, you only had one mag. And suddenly you have 2. 😮

    Whoever thought that. Come on man its 2020 and they are in business to make money. If they made it interchangeable they would advertise it and charge you four times more for it.

    To be honest if i dial it all the way out i would want all the nails to be proud, when i'm laying plywood i would rather have a little hammer work than nails driven to the stud.

      Maybe the non marring tip would act as a spacer and drive nails proud

    I see lots of complaints about this. Read up on profit, and why it's vital to our existence. Support the brand. Buy them both if you want both.

    Would have been nice if the mags were interchangeable.
    I'll stick with my Hitachi NR83A2 guns because they're monsters 💪 cordless guns just can't compete for real framing.

      Either way, they're a business, and need profit to make more awesome tools. Support the brand by buying. The less we buy, the less they make, and then quality goes downhill.

    that just sucks... they did it on purpose. no way you can be that good at engineering the most powerful framing nailer and not be able to do 21 and 30 with the same gun

    I bought two of these. All the nails jammed in both guns 100% of the time. I got
    ripped off! Home Depot would not exchange them nor refund my money. Milwaukee
    couldn't care less. I'm supposed to mail them to Milwaukee and start and endless process
    hoping to get a working nail gun. I got royally ripped off

    • @zeroedmiters

      That's dumb. Home Depot takes returns. They'll take pretty much anything, and up to 3 months. With a receipt you get your money back. Without, you get store credit. I even returned a product that I didn't even purchase from home depot and got store credit for it. You did something wrong if they won't take a return. My experience with a replacement from Milwaukee has been outstanding, so it's not them either. It's all on you.
