    I look forward to your review after you have used them for a while, especially since you have more than one.
    If you have any issues, it'll be easy to rule out if you have one lemon, or if they are just not that good, but I'm hoping for great performance.

    It's a 60 minute timeout. Same as the other M18 nailers.
    Speaking of warranty, I don't know if you noticed but originally it had 5 year warranty like the rest of their tools... But they dropped it to 3 year on the framer.
    I was waiting for this since I love the Gen2 Brad. But i think I'll stick with the paslodes until the end of the year. That was way too long of a delay so either:
    1)they discovered a problem and fixed it or
    2)they discovered a problem and "think" they fixed it but time will tell
    So I'm sitting on the sidelines for now because the Gen1 M18 Brad was a complete pile of shit and I'm glad I waited for the Gen2. lol.

    • @DesignsElement
      @DesignsElement 4 роки тому +2

      I'm in the same boat. Gonna wait to see what people think of it before I sink $700 into it. I'm in Canada so its pricey up here.
      I heard from a rep that the delay was due to the weight of the tool, I doubt that's true but that's all I've heard. I'm kind of thinking it's a striker issue if anything. Seeing as we need to take off the mag to clear a bad jamb. Could be that it was jamming enough to warrant a fix.

    • @evictioncarpentry2628
      @evictioncarpentry2628 4 роки тому +1

      @@DesignsElement Yeah, also in Canada. We get screwed on all pricing. Lol.
      The weight sounds like BS. Kinda like the 911 "official story" haha. That was way too long of a delay for it to not be a major issue found. The drop in warranty length would indicate its a higher wearing part that was the issue (striker/driver/gas cylinder etc)
      I mean, you could prove the weight theory if anyone had a pre-production model verse a production. Also, weight... What did they change to reduce it then? Re-engineer the entire gun, because it looks the exact same to me and you're not going to retool everything to save an ounce. Lol

    • @jaison7828
      @jaison7828 4 роки тому

      Element the delay was due to user error... if you noticed him nailing bump fire mode... , the wood was wobbling around and shaking badly... I think when you nail something down it has to be stable or atleast hold em... it also explains at to why nail didn’t sink in properly because it was wobbling ... I think $700 is pretty good price... you’ll get your money back in 1 project for this no problem...

    • @gingrichconstruction7242
      @gingrichconstruction7242  4 роки тому

      The delay is not user error I can replicate it well nailing beams etc. If you are pulling the gun back up as soon as you have it on the wood the nails will not seat entirely. It needs a 1/10 second or something to start the firing sequence. If you do bump fire as fast as possible the nailer will come down to soon and the nailer will not fire as well. Now I definitely dont see it as a problem if guys are running them that fast they are probably not being very accurate.
      I definitely agree they are worth the money in production on a job we shall see how durable they are yet!

      That's how it was for us up till last year then we had a number of tools that they wouldn't warranty because it was water damage and "obviously abuse" we work in the rain and Milwaukee 1/4" hex impacts have always been notorious for quitting on us. I wasn't very happy about it but recently we had a couple of saws and a drill fixed under warranty no problems and the drill was upgraded to the new generation so maybe they heard and have improved.

    I’m betting that the long press on the buttons is intentional so that you don’t accidentally bump a button and cause it to switch modes or power on or off. So I would suggest you get used to the idea of long press because it keeps the tool in the mode that you’re going to want to use it and not in some mode did it accidentally gets pressed through incidental contact and your gun is operating in some mode that you weren’t anticipating.

    I'm leaning to getting a paslode again after not getting any reviewer to give me a cost on service and refilling of these battery nailers. And yes they will leak down as some have found with the hikoki after some use, but no one will say what it costs. Pissed me off that most of them are sponsored reviews and deny it needs servicing.

    • @gingrichconstruction7242
      @gingrichconstruction7242  4 роки тому

      I'm not denying that they will need service. We run a large variety of Milwaukee and they all fail just like everyone else. The Milwaukee nailers have not been out long enough for one of them to need service yet. The Hitachi we used never had to be serviced yet so also cant speak to that.
      But more on the cost. Up here gas is $18 a cell we bought it by the case so it cost us less. Let's say $10 per cell. 1000 nails per cell on a shop build we run 15000 plus nails so $150. We are building a pig barn on the same site that's another 30000 plus nails so $300 now I'm at $450 in gas that's only 2 builds. I can buy all new cordless nails every 6 months and it's more economical than running paslode. Now I'm not saying paslode is no good we ran them for years and they were awesome for running around doing details but for a main framing nailer in our use case it doesn't make sense.

      They are not heavier than a the big coil nailers but yes it would be nice if they were lighter. But on the other hand not having hoses catching is worth a lot as well

    Everyone who complains ablut that bump fire mode button is just lazy asf. Yeah we might not like it but its not that big of an issue, you people are just getting lazier and lazier over the years and wanting something you dont even have to move to get working lol

      It's more a case of wasting time standing pushing a button when we could be working. Fortunately it stays on for around 1 hr after you turn it on so its never a problem we can stop for lunch etc. And never have to turn them back on during a day.

      Gingrich Construction 1st gen dewalt over here I use it as a hammer and framing nailer. Works on everything except really old growth hardwoods when were doing remodels. It sure is bulky though compared to those slick milwaukees you got eh
