Nice tool, will be useful. Have been wondering why you don't just parallel your bottom metal closure piece with the soffit channel. Seems like trying to level two areas would be taking a chance with them not ending up being parallel. I was always taught to level or plum one side and then measure the other. I have been using Stabilla products for about twenty years and know they are superior. In Florida when using cement lap siding over Cmu and 1x4 furring, we use 1 1/4'' roofing nails. This is done in blind nailing applications. Been watching your channel, pretty much from the start. Top quality craftsmen.
I had all air nail guns Pasload had the set in the back for roofing shingles just hook it and run never ever had any problems with all my Pasload framing coil and trim paid a lot for em
I am so glad you said this tool is not for smartsiding. I have a siding project coming up and I was thinking this would be a great tool to add for that.
11 coils per charge? That's just over 2~3 squares of shingles (depending on your area and if you need to double nail, etc.). When I was roofing we would do an entire home (40 square in my area)...that's a LOT of batteries. My Subdivision is reaching the age when everybody is replacing roofs. Not a single battery powered nailer around. EVERYBODY uses air...and usually the Bostich and Hitachi are preferred around here. When I was doing roofing over a summer while laid off, I used a Bostich. Never jammed, and could bump fire at scary rates (as fast as you could strip across that shingle. A good roofer could fly through a 1/3 square (one package) in minutes. I don't see these being good for roofing like that. Siding? 100% see it. Roofing? Maybe I'm wrong, but nah....at least not around me, they all use pneumatic.
As an avid dryer your opinion aligns perfectly with what I would like to use this nailer for. Recently had my roof done and roofing is something I don't really want to do myself. However I do plan to replace my siding myself and this would be nice to have since I don't have a good air compressor or nailer already.
For sure this isn’t meant to shingle a whole roof, neither are battery framing guns meant to frame an entire home. It’s for us smaller guys doing maintenance work or shed/garage roofs.
I could see a DIYer doing a small roof. The pace would be so much slower that your pro roof slayer. Maybe if tou already had a strong cashe of batteries, a slow pace would stay ahead of pace. Just a thought.
They specifically said 5 squares or less, in the release, so basically repair work, or installing new vents or accessories. Will be great for stoops, bay windows, little over hang returns or up on a long ladder.
I owned a couple of the Paslode roofing coil nailers. The idea of not having to drag around a compressor and 4 whips of hose was a great idea, until they would carbon up in cold weather. I kept both guns for a couple of years, then traded them in on the Bostich pneumatic nailer and Makita compressor. Kyle, don't wish for a framing coil nailer. Nail selection will be horrible and the price will be super high. It's bad enough that the price of galvanized nails more than doubled a few years back for commonly available sizes.
Based on specs, it's still lighter than the Metabo gun. If they can shave another pound, pound and a half off the weight it can become a great production gun for a full day on the roof.
I really appreciated the "were not bashing, its just how does this tool work and should you buy one" comment. Although if your Kyle, the real question around if you buy any tool is "do you already own one?" and if the answer is no,,, you buy one. (or 2)
Maybe not good for warranty, but I feel Milwaukee is far superior in the cordless gun game. I found a cheap adapter on Amazon to use my DeWalt batteries on those guns. With the trim guns, and the framing gun, I've never had a problem, and I suspect I get a few more nails per charge given the 20v vs. 18v.
Dewalt's "20V max" is the same as other brands' 18V. When an 18V battery is at full charge, it goes up to 20v. The nominal voltage is still 18V, Dewalt just uses "20V max" for marketing. In Europe Dewalt never did this stupid rebranding and all their tools are still marketed at 18V. Kind of like a car's 12V battery is close to 13V at full charge.
Metabo HPT nailers are more reliable than milwaukee and you can get parts for them when the warranty is over. You can also easily fill them up yourself if the air leaks out.
Great review. Only question about putting the controls on the top, I’ve seen you do it as well as others and that is use the head of the tool to make small adjustments. Now having the controls there wouldn’t you run the risk of doing damage? Just a question that’s all
It is not for wood or cement based siding. It will only work for attaching vinyl siding. He does explain this. Don't spend your money on something that will not do what you think it will do.
Kyle - love the truck! I’ve got a 3500HD SRW DU. Struggling to see the goosepin on the backup cam to hookup when the taneau cover is folded forward. Been trying Harbor Freight magnetic tennis balls on hitch and ball to try to get aligned, but that’s pretty lame. Any advice or solution?
We just need a fencing/smartside cordless gun. Please Milwaukee
leaving dents by hammering everythign in gives character to building like cute mole on cindy crowford
It really is nice and quiet. Thanks for showing us Kyle.😁👍🏼

Definitely getting the Milwaukee Roofing Coil Nailer!! Great for Repairs!!
Damn Milwaukee really has the edge on cordless nailers love how smaller the heads are
I've been waiting for that nailer, I do some shingle roofing but more vinal siding
I had all air nail guns Pasload had the set in the back for roofing shingles just hook it and run never ever had any problems with all my Pasload framing coil and trim paid a lot for em

look at the Paslode tetraGRIP siding nailer. RR Buildings has some videos on it too when they're doing SmartSide
That's the best place for the power buttons. They can't be bumped or changed easily.
The rubber also protects the housing from wearing due to asphalt shingles.

No one is buying this for a full roof, more like quick repairs and siding.
Great vid. Would u put a larger battery like 5 ah or is that too heavy?? Thanks
Cordless is the future. looks good.

@@alxace interesting.. gotta love marketing departments....
Does the Dewalt battery "talk" with Milwaukee powertool?
Todays technic is more plus and minus between these parts.
@@torstenbrunke4026 talk in what way? I don't use any of the Bluetooth stuff. And the power button, and fire rate selection is wired in mechanically.
