Hello mechwarriors, today I bought a stalker on a 4N chassis, he has +1 laser and +1 heavy laser to ghost heat. As a result, I have 6 heavy lasers without ghost heat. On my build, I can fire 3 full volleys in a row before the emergency shutdown of the combat mech :D Baradul can you check this stalker variant with 6 heavy lasers without ghost heat? I think your viewers will be interested to see this.
Ahh :) This build and me have a bit of a history together. My first ten mechs or so were all Clan omnimechs. I enjoyed the versatility and the longer range, as I was still a newbie and overly cautious. Most of my builds had ECM for the same reason. But eventually I ran out of Clan ECM mechs and decided to give IS a shot. This mech, with this exact build, was my first Inner Sphere experience. I got the ECM nodes from GXP and went to battle, no heat and armor nodes, no laser duration, nothing. Polar Highlands, Skirmish. Boom. Victory, 5 kills, some more KMMDs, over 1400 damage. The most I had in the game to this very day. Of course on the longer run it turned out that I was quite lucky that day. Basically my team got too spread out and was going to lose but still put up quite a fight. By the time I reached the frontline with max armor and six Large Lasers, hunting down the scattered and damaged enemy team was little more than a turkey shoot. No wonder I never managed to replicate those numbers. Still, it was hell of a welcome to Inner Sphere tech :D
@@annelisemeier283 No, it's a 3FB, I just checked ingame :) Maybe once it was reward only, but by the time I met it it was available in the store. Same with the ECM-capable Night Gyr-H. It was a loyalty reward at first and then made available for C-Bills about six months later.
It's so weird when Bara complains about sway from arm lock when it's rock steady and in 90% of his laser builds he runs unlocked and we watch the point of aim and laser burns wobble like a drunken sailor.
@ 1:23 Baradul states that he dosen't want the extended range of the ERLL. One minute later @ 2:30 he needs the extended range ... Taking the ERLL should be a no-brainer (at least 3 of the 6). The ERLL provides 50% more range for only 25% more heat.
I am running the exact same build and for what ever reason it is my highest damaging mech per game I have, the average damage is at 772dmg per game and I dont know why, I play it very aggressively, the stalker is atleast good at staring down enemies with those hitboxes
@@gorgnaxxangrog3183 while this is true, the combination between ecm and "its just a stalker" in the mind of the enemies makes this mech way better performing than expecting
Speaking of Stalkers, try my 5M brawler: LFE300 5 ASRM6 + 4 tons (just barely enough with ammo quirks) 1 SNPPC (centre mount) 4 ML 17 DHS 94.5 alpha. 74.5 with just the missiles and PPC. If you're gonna drive a battleship, might as well broadside like one.
My first mech in my dad's tabletop BattleTech games. I got in a fight with three Warhammers, heavily damaged one, but got pulverized. I fell in love with mechs from then on. That was 30 years ago.
Despite it's terrible hitboxes, I've always had a soft spot for the Stalker and it's currently one of my favorite mechs though I don't run this particular variant/loadout running instead a MRM/MedLas combo (that I think I've seen you run before) and a more hodgepodge loadout that relies primarily on Dual Heavy PPC for damage with Rockets/Med/Small lasers for pinpoint defense. I actually have a good bit of success with it. At any rate, nice to see some Stalker love!
Maybe I've missed them but I would like to see you play a Classic Hollis Industries, Star League Era Battlemaster BLR-1G. The armament is 1 PPC, 6 Med Las, 2 MG's and an SRM 6 on a 340 engine. Keep in mind that these are all IS weapons. Speed of the mech is 64.8 Km/h. You can see the traditional loadout at battletech.gamepedia.com/Battlemaster_BLR-1G
You can see the traditional loadout when you buy the mech in-game. Mechs come with the build that was stock for tabletop Battletech, with few exceptions. One reason you don't see stock builds in people's videos is that they aren't competitive in MWO. Certainly not anything with single heat sinks.
Actually not that bad. They tweeked a lot of stuff and are consistently pumping out sales and events that give rewards. Evn if you play a coupke of hours a day for a few days you will be able to play aroubd with a couple mech builds
Lots of people complain about a steep learning curve - because it's not CallofHaloField - but the in-game tutorial but the in-game tutorial is pretty good. If you ever played tabletop Battletech or a previous MechWarrior game, you can probably pick up the mech-building aspect of the game pretty quickly. You start off using "trial mechs" that you can't modify, and earn money with them until you can buy and mod your own mech. You can play without spending real-world money, and it's less of a grind if you pay attention to the weekly events and earn the awards whenever you can.
Hey Baradul. I don't mind the notification noise, but if you want to get rid of it you can right click on the volume meter in the bottom right corner of your desktop. Click on the mixer and than mute your browser/email client. Also, how do we get into the Molten Metal Militia, is that still a thing?
if your not running missiles on your stalker your doing something wrong, its a dedicated support platform with the firepower to hold its own but by no means ment to fight on the front.
It is a lot. You may try it in testing grounds. You should not compare pure alpha heat of two builds. It is more about sustained heat per second minus heat dissipation per second. A tiny bit of extra heat per second may turn a sustainable build with good DPS into toasty mess. I believe that for IS laser boats the "time before you are forced to stop firing and need to hide for cooling off" is a very important parameter. Also cooldowns will be different which is a bit distracting for me.
6:11 That Wolfhound got DROPPED
He flew a good distance lmao

Thanks for the vid sir.
My favorite mech.
"Beware the Stalker."
Twists like a battleship in a swamp but I love em😁😁😁
I was the pesky blackjack in the second vid :)

Peter Kurdi I am pretty sure you were running a 4N, not a 3FB. The 3FB is a special event reward variant, basically a 4N with ECM.
@@annelisemeier283 No, it's a 3FB, I just checked ingame :) Maybe once it was reward only, but by the time I met it it was available in the store. Same with the ECM-capable Night Gyr-H. It was a loyalty reward at first and then made available for C-Bills about six months later.
Peter Kurdi huh okay, my bad then.
Now _that_ is a sixpack...
Windows notification sound is becoming a running gag imho.
That is classic! 4N in earlier times?
Yeah. The 3FB is basically a 4N with ECM you could get from one of the stocking stuffers.
What's the sound pack you're using?

That hunchback 2c was still showing on sensors after it was destroyed and fell over. at 4:51.
there was a mech on the low ground behind the buildings behind it
The Wolfhound pilot at the end of the first match got OWNED, lol!
So nice to see the fun Frozen city and forest colony again. instead of frozen shitfest and forest colonoscopy. :)
I still go with 4x ER L Laser =P set up in series and of course all 4 alpha.
How did you get your lasers to sound like that? is it a mod or soundpack?
one of the best builds ever, never under 600 dmg

almost reminds me of the time when we could have 6 PPC stalkers roaming frozen city one shoting other mechs with a 60 alpha.
you could shoot 6 PPC's and not blow up?

2 MRM40 and 6 med lasers is ok for stalker? It is good splash firesupport for my opinion< but I'd like to qest a good players about it?
Is faction deck classic

Awe, Banshi used to be able to do this. MWO is in zombie mode because PGI are the worst people in the world.
Rip Banshees, rip Wubbmasters.
Snow colony forest classic :>
I like the none Meta game of the second game, also like the Build and how you went with it, remembers me of my NovaCat with ErLargeLasers.
Large Laser sounds yummy yummy ♡ any chance we may see a multiple Large Pulse Laser only build next week?
The behemoth was the best I've ever played with on table top. Never played this PC game..but yes stalkers are annoying
Love your builds Baradul! Keep up the good work..
wait, you can fire 3 large lasers at once? I thought it was only 2 (without ghost heat).
My second favorite build for the 3FB next to the Quad ER PPC one.

Make a 6 ppc build. =)

Tried build like this, it is extremely hot on normal/hot maps. Imho it is ok to replace one torso LL with ERML + another DHS.
damn you bara, i just fitted your old MRM/Lazor build on this on engine sale :D
if your not running missiles on your stalker your doing something wrong, its a dedicated support platform with the firepower to hold its own but by no means ment to fight on the front.
why not to swap 3 lasers for er versions for more flexibility? 4.5 heat difference is not too much

I remember in the CBT when this game only had 8 mechs... havent played this game in years... seems some stuff has changed
Yes, yes it has.
works great in battletech too
