    I ordered a Seiko Dolce instead of a PRX. It has a high accuracy quartz movement, integrated H-link bracelet and a lovely stamped guilloche dial. Paid less than 150 euro for it on C24 !!

    MAEN is just a horrendous name, and it looks terrible in print on the dial also.

      Agreed 100%. Some brand names and/or font ruin their own watches.

    Great watches but the PRX still wins in my book. From style and originality, price point and history, no beating Tissot from this angle.

    Don't talk too much about Credor please! Don't wanna have to pay more for them just because people start looking for them 😅

    Thank you for your hard research and informative video. Purchased the Tissot Gentleman in Ice Blue dial for my son and he loves it. Looking at the Tudor Royal in a few days

    A plethora of Integrated Bracelet Models across well respected Brands .
    The Mrs. loves her 35mm Quartz PRX .
    Keeps her away from my Oyster Quartz 😂

    For the vintage section I would go with the Tissot PR100 Sapphire with the black waffle dial.

    For the money the Junghans 667.20 "Oysterquartz" is unbeatable.

    I have both the PRX and the Tsuyosa , I like my PRX much better , I tend to like simpler dials and they both fit the bill very well . As for most of the other brands you talked about I do not agree with you . Otherwise I enjoyed your presentation .

    Great PRX competitor comparo. Contains a wealth of knowledge, and illuminating insights. I did notice two notable absences from your essay. One in the modern space, and one in the vintage, or perhaps quasi-vintage, arena. The modern integrated model that is conspicuously missing is the Maurice LaCroix Aikon. I can almost see someone slapping their forehead on this one, so I will leave it at that. These are available in gently used condition for as little as 1000USD.
    The second one is more understandable, as this brand has almost dropped off the radar of most collectors. I am referring to the Concord Saratoga "Automatique", ref. 14.49.1894, from about 2000ish. This may be just the best watch outright amongst those compared here. Build quality and finish....difficult to think of a PRX in the same thought quality-wise. I think they slipped off the radar because the vast majority of the Saratogas are quartz, and I am guessing that 96% of your subscriber base is averse to unmechanical timepieces. The "Automatique" is a different creature under the skin, and these can be obtained on the secondary for PRX prices.
    Thank you for the excellent video!

    Where can you get the custom dials for the PRX? Would be fun to get my company logo and gift them my employees.

    Unfortunately the Powermatic movement in the PRX has too many plastic parts in it and it has to be serviced /repaired by a Tissot A.D. If you really want a PRX save some money and get the Quartz version instead of the Auto ..

    From modern a direct competitor is the Mido Multifort TV Big Date (with inspiration from PP Aquanaut/Nautilus) and from vintage Rado Captain

    I wish brands like Maen, Autodromo, etc would reveal where the cases, dials, and hands are made. Too many brands in that class use a collection of chinese parts while still being "swiss made" so I'm left to assume they all do

    • @HRM.H
      @HRM.H 8 місяців тому +1

      China. Most likely from hongkong or guangzhou. Even Christopher Ward uses chinese factories, the exact same one Zelos uses.

      @TLH.1 wow thanks for the info. That leaves ZRC as the only small resurgence brand that I know isn't mostly Chinese parts (the bracelets come from Hong Kong but the rest of the watch does not)

    • @HRM.H
      @HRM.H 8 місяців тому

      @@TheRacerRicha lot of the microbrands just use a swiss movement + swiss assembly and/or swiss quality control. And tada, you have a "swiss made" watch...

      The main reason is price since the Rolex is much more expensive than the Tissot. We wanted to keep all options at roughly the same level.
