Omni Man vs his son Mark (battle). Fight in the underground subway. Omni Man fights against Mark, his son. Omnimen beats his son half to death, knocks out his teeth. Mark loses a lot of blood and almost dies.
Invincible Episode 8: The Invincible animated superhero series created by Robert Kirkman. Its first episode was released on 26th March 2021. In this short amount of time, it made quite a good fanbase and all the fans are eagerly waiting for every episode to drop. Finally, the series comes to end and fans are really excited for Invincible Season 2. The release date of season 2 is not revealed yet. As fans really appreciate season one of Invincible, there’s is a high chance of season 2.

Invincible Episode 8: Recap: Debbie wakes up realizing that the events of the previous day were not a dream and Amber is still pissed off at Mark. I really like this moment. Even though Mark can barely bruise his father they still highlight how strong his punches are. A lot of shows tend to weaken the sounds to show the power difference, but they kept it going here.

Either a) it was the blood that was already on Mark’s gloves coming off, b) he specifically hit the side of the face in this scene, so not clear where he’s bleed from, and c) OM could clearly see it coming and could ‘tense’ or whatever.
Mark couldn't do shit to Nolan. He can't even move him. This is basically a toddler vs an adult.
@@Kalenz1234 He was able to make Nolan flinch a couple times during his barrage after Nolan called Debbie meaningless.
It makes sense Mark was able to put a little more in his blows at the start, but once he started taking taking hits and getting tired. . . not so much. There's also the energy he expended trying to save people.
All the same, "I'd still have you" cut Nolan deeper than any punch Mark could've ever tossed his way. Even if Mark could've beaten him, it just would've reinforced Nolan's Darwinistic ideology. Proving him wrong is a far greater victory.
I read the comic back when it was being released, and this episode is better than the comic. You didn’t really get to know Nolan as much, and this fight was not nearly as emotional.
The show was written by the same person who made the comic decades ago.
He had a lot of new experiences and knowledge to improve on his work.

For sure. The book gets really great as it goes along, but the first dozen or so issues are definitely written by a relatively new writer, and the adaptation definitely reflects the writer's growth over his career in the ways that he's tried to improve it. (For reference, Robert Kirkman, the writer of the Invincible comic, and The Walking Dead comic for that matter, is a consultant and I believe an executive producer on the Invincible show, and he's been directly involved in the writing. To my undwestanding, I think he's the sole writer of the first and last episodes of the season.

I know Omni-Man isn't out to just kill his son but the fact that Mark despite being so green with his powers is not only willing to stand up to his dad but to his dad was willing to take out everything and everyone just because he could and no matter what with every breath Mark could muster he was still willing to stick to what he believed him even if it killed him, as many others have said it's not that he's Invincible in the sense he cannot be harmed but it's his will that is Invincible even when he is unsure of himself he still finds a way forward. I wish they came out with the episodes faster. I read the comics a good handful of times all the way through but I love being able to see it animated.

One pet peeve I always have in super hero fights is when the good guy throws the bad guy into a building or into oncoming traffic or anything that clearly would cause more damage and death than if he had done nothing at all but seeing Nolan in this go out of his way to hurt Mark while also hurting other people just to prove a point. Damn
i think thats the worst aspect here, nolan and mark were miles away from civilization when their 1 sided fight started, nolan intentionally started to use mark as a battering ram to murder people and break his spirit when it was clear words were not enough.

I keep noticing little things in this show, watching back through clips. There's so much storytelling in the animation alone.
Peep that moment at 2:14, when Nolan lands hard enough to shake the ground, then gingerly rolls his son over to reposition him for a punch that breaks a mountain. That gives a glimpse into the deliberate nature of what Nolan is doing. He knows he won't kill Mark here, and he knows that he isn't "fighting," per se: it's just a beating. He's giving Mark the Viltrumite version of a spanking. It's so eye-opening, both for Mark and for the viewer, to see him essentially just disciplining a kid - you spank a child because they aren't wounded by it, but it hurts. You give them that understanding of "you are NOT to do this" without permanently injuring them. For a human child, that's slapping their ass. For a Viltrumite, it's throwing them through a cruise liner, punching them into orbit, and smashing them into a mountain range hard enough to cause and bury them in an avalanche.
Commentary on physical punishment for a child aside, it demonstrates in a few moments that yes, Nolan and Mark are Superman-level strong and durable, and yes, Nolan is an ADULT Viltrumite versus his essentially infant son, and no, there's NOTHING anyone can do against a single Viltrumite, because being disciplined by your Viltrumite father is something that would obliterate any other Earth-dweller. This scene, and that moment in particular, hammers that shit home so well, for me.

given that the 'spanking' here is being demonstrated by Nolan driving his son to near-death as the explicit narrative villain, "you're not supposed to spank your child" is kind of a redundant sentiment here. *clearly* the show is not pro corporal punishment.

Omni man punched mark so hard it made a crater below him and sent cracks up the entire mountain, and he was (relative to Nolan's other attacks,) fine. This fight shows what a beast Omni-Man is, but it shows off Mark's strength too.

If allen choose to keep having near death experiences than he would have easily been stronger than thragg by the like 4th or 6th.

I honestly think that Nolan was preparing Mark for later threats...
In the comics, in a much later issue, Omni Man said that he was so conflicted by his competing emotions during this that Mark's resistance triggered him into an overwhelming rage. Viltrumites react to emotional conflict with FURY.
He just lost control. He couldn't handle the competing feelings; his love for his family, his parental need to protect Mark at all costs, his anger at Mark's stubborn refusal, his loyalty to Viltrum, and his colossal, stabbing, all-consuming guilt.
All those things combined just turned into blind rage.
I pity you OmniMan.

@@MamadNobari No way in hell is that possible. Omni Man passed out after fighting the Guardians of the Globe. Superman doesn’t even bleed most of the time and it’s usually just Batman who does that in the Justice League. He just always holds back. If Red Rush was able to punch Omni Man without even full speed then Superman can just destroy him, especially since the yellow sun pretty much boosts his powers.

@@UnlimitedIvory I think they toned him down from the comics, the writers seem to want less of a strength gap between characters. It ruined Justice League with Superman so I wouldn't blame them.
