I noticed that Viltrumites rarely, if ever, block. They believe themselves to be fast enough to evade, or strong enough to tank a hit. Too much pride.

Yeah, you can really see it around 2:30. Mark blocks strikes or redirects them while the other Viltrumites just kinda dodge or take it. I guess the Invincible part doesn't come without some work.

My dad had a mustache when I was growing up and actually kind of looked like Nolan. I had a dream he did a cosplay of Omni-man and woke up laughing.
The fact that Mark, an adolescent Viltrumite with basically no training, was able to best Thula (she's very strong in the comics) really shows how much potential Mark has.
I don't actually think Mark bested Thula I think she was testing him. To see if he had the strength and ruthlessness to be apart of the Empire. Look at how she was relatively unharmed vs Mark. And Lucan also said if you do well we will let you be apart of the Empire. And what did Krieg do? Say hey here is your mission. You will complete it or we will wipe out all of Earth.

2:26 is the moment as a comic reader I been waiting for since the show started. To see mark hold his own against a viltrumite. While I’ve always loved that nolan teaches him the lesson he tried to teach him in season one but in the right way. That you can’t hold back and you have to use your strength to save people not conquer them.
It'll be interesting to see that built on when they get to the Invincible War stuff, that has the potential to really make use of the lessons learned here

I wondered why Thula’s screams sounded so familiar. It turns out the voice actress did the combat vocals for Kitana and Mileena in MKX. Grey DeLisle also has voiced many of our favorite childhood characters.

A surprise-factor is almost as valuable as combat skill.
The comics make it even more terrifying. There are some Viltrumites that punch and then their arms explode on contact because their opponent is too strong.
I’m so happy they cast Phil LaMarr as Lucan and Clancy Brown as Kregg. LaMarr’s basically genocidal Green Lantern and Brown is Luthor with Superman powers now. Wonder if the show has cast anyone else that worked Bruce Timm’s DC Animated Universe?

Also, Grey Griffin/DeLisle, voice of Olga, Monster Girl, and a few other characters in Invincible, has played Catwoman numerous times, though not in the DCAU (she's been a couple one-off heroes in Justice League Unlimited though). Interestingly enough, she joined Clancy Brown's Long Feng and Mark Hamill's Ozai as part of Avatar: The Last Airbender's villain club (as Azula).
I just hope they reveal voice of Thragg in the end of S2.

Nolan really only wanted Mark to hold off each Viltrumite on Thraxa, not beat them. Nolan knew he could beat each Vitrumite as long as he fought them one at a time. Mark distracted Lucan and held off Thula long enough for Nolan to finish off Vidor. Mark actually did his job successfully on Thraxa

So I'm just gonna point this out and you can take what you will from it, but this Viltrumite hit Nolan several times without drawing blood, but after he came back the first time, the Immortal was drawing blood from Nolan basically every time he hit him with those same strikes to the face.
