I like the small detail that Nolan was born after the Purge. He has no idea if life before Viltrum’s Purge was “better”, he just commits genocides and betrays his friends because he believes in a history written by the Viltrumites who committed genocides and betrayed their friends.
I love how they made Nolan look more crazy by covering him in blood and blood-shotting his eyes from his fight with Immortal, really adds to the reasoning for Mark going against him
I feel like Nolan calling Debbie a pet was an attempt to force himself to detatch his emotions from her, because he really does love her. If Mark never got his powers then Nolan would happily be living hisnlife on earth with his wife and son. The turmoil is already in his head, and he genuinely does believe that the viltrumite empire is a force for good.
I think you're right. He clearly loses the fight against his growing humanity in the end as well. He's still trying to deny his own humanity. I think its such a wonderful way they actually made someone so horrible and stuck in their ways learn they're wrong in their line of thinking. The final scene with mark and nolan really drive it in. When he starts to cry and fights back against it, nothing else is said when he flies away but it means so much.
@@ntuduyYou would be accepting a life of slavery. All to stop a possibility of 2 more petty world wars that can be easily avoided. Does your freedom matter soo little to you?
I like how he says “It’s not something I want for you.” In reference to how Mark will outlive all the people he cares about. I think it’s a reality that has dawned on Omni-Man as well; the people he allows himself to care about will gradually disappear and he has passed on that burden to his son.
Rewatching this entire episode after reading the comic completely flips the viewer's perspective of Nolan. When you originally thought he was always deep down a monstrous scumbag who was itching at the opportunity to cut loose and be himself, it turns out he became so accustomed to living on Earth that he actually hoped Mark would never get powers, so he can continue living there in peace. Earth changed him, Debbie changed him....and then his worst fears came true and Mark's powers awakened. It meant Viltrumites are now surely going to take interest in Earth, and because of this Nolan experiences internal turmoil. To be a loyal soldier of the Viltrum Empire, or to be a loving husband, father and protector of Earth. This entire sequence, the entire part...It's not Nolan trying to convince Mark that the Empire takeover of Earth should be allowed. It's Nolan trying to convince and delude *himself* that he is still a loyal soldier. When in reality, he is not. And when he later realizes this, and realizes how low he has sunk by nearly beating his beloved son to death in an effort to convince himself that he is still on the side of the Empire, he breaks into tears and leaves Earth.
@@politicalmayhem1080basically so he could take his time living the rest of their lives with him until they past. Then he would’ve started the conquering but mark gaining powers forced his hand.
Yeah, the hints were there right from the very beginning. When an ecstatic Mark announces he's finally getting his powers, Nolan isn't happy at all. He's dead serious, and asks Mark if he's absolutely sure. Then, later that very same night, he kills all of the Guardians. If Viltrumites hadn't been so compatible with human DNA, then the planet would probably have been deemed a waste of time and the Empire might not even have bothered conquering it. But Mark coming into his Viltrumite blood meant that Omni-Man's course was now set, and Earth was a key strategic resource that HAD to be captured. Mark made Nolan very proud, and all the more so when he started taking after him.... but he never actually wanted that to happen, and knew Mark would never forgive him when Mark found out what kind of man he really was. If the kid had never gotten his powers, Nolan could have gone right on being a hero and a family man. And then when Mark and Debbie eventually passed, he could probably just have quietly slipped away and told his superiors Earth wasn't worth bothering over. But, alas...
Other vultrumites were given orders to blend in with humans by Thragg when Nolan became the Emperor he told his people to welcome the changes they would feel on earth and accept the good happy catering emotions that's why most of them changed sooner except Anissa
Some spoilers from the comic, but it's also rather telling that after the Scourge Virus nearly destroyed the Viltrumite population to the point they're not even in the triple digits anymore, their empire didn't collapse. It just stopped expanding. Not even a hundred viltrumites remain at this point, and they still keep the rest of the galaxy at bay. One can only imagine how terrifying they were when there were thousands of them. Kind of puts a terrifying edge on the fact that Mark proves that Viltrumite/Human crossbreeds are just as viable as full blooded Viltrumites. Earth is key to the Viltrumites regaining their numbers without diluting their capabilities
@@taraungoogle8482 Lack of numbers for the most part. The Scourge Virus was a very recent development, so recent that the Viltrumites are still trying find a solution to their population problem (since even a super race can't regrow a viable population amongst themselves with just a few dozen individuals without there being genetic complications.) Nolan discovering that Earthling/Viltrumite hybrids are just as viable as full viltrumites was more of a happy accident then an actual option the Viltrumites were taking seriously. Heck, even after the other Viltrumites discovered this themselves they still didn't take it seriously out of pride until certain events in the comic forced their hand. Because yeah, turns out Nolan is actually one of the less stubborn and more introspective Viltrumites, if you can believe it. However, why the Viltrumites don't use cloning technology or gene therapy is never fully explained and is a source of debate amongst fans even to this day

I love the visual foreshadowing of seeing conquest being one of the viltrumites that was amongst the elite that survived the cleansing process. That’s gonna be great foreshadowing in like 4 more seasons when mark actually fights him and we see how absurdly powerful he is.
It could be sooner Ngl, season 2 introduction of Armstrong levy. Season 3 the invincible war which should end with conquest showing up as the war ends just like in the comics. Possibly season 4 if they want to leave it on a cliff hanger
@@uhavenoclueboom6323The comic has a ton of branching storylines so I’d be surprised if they just condensed it to the main storyline over a few seasons. Amazon could print money with this series if they improve the weak points and maintain consistently good quality over many seasons
Every time I see Omni-Man revealing that he's himself and not being controlled by any third party host, especially with that calm voice of his, it gives me chills; an utter feeling of despair, knowing that the father-son relationship is forever ruined and that it'll only get worse from there. This scene still HAUNTS me to this day.
I think that's only true for Mark, he is half human after all and so his human DNA followed the human aging process until he's 18, where the viltrumite DNA slowly takes over his human side and starts aging slowly.
That’s actually for almost every species on earth, including to an extent humans. Think about how much a dog ages in its first 2 years vs the rest of their lives.
@@SecureInMyHead totally understand. it's a horrible thing he did but when Invincible said "but I'd have you"..even after the horrific beating his dad gave him, he loved his dad. We love each other so much that having each other means more than all the riches in the world.
I've not watched this show at all, but the performance of Omni-Man's voice actor is deeply chilling in this. He's an Imperialist and believes in a perfect society through eugenics, but he has none of the hate or energy that these kind of people usually express. It's his reality, his view of the world. As far as he's concerned, this is normal and how the world is meant to be. Also, one of the words for "Power" in latin is "Imperium"., which is also synonymous with "Empire" and "Government". So, if you have a Superpower, are you a "Super-Imperialist"? I feel like that's a theme in this show.
Omni-Man is voiced by J.K. Simmons, whose been in movies like spider man and whiplash. He’s one of my favorite of all time and definitely deserves an award for his performance here
You should watch it, the full context makes the final scenes so much more impactful. Watching Nolan lose his fight against the humanity he gained is honestly the best writing I've seen in a long time.
"She's more like a pet to me" "In the cosmic grands of things, yes" "Whats 17 more years? i can always start again. Make another kid" Man as if his punches isn't painful enough, those words is guaranteed will break peoples spirit.
Never thought about it, but when Omni Man first came to earth, he didn't immediately use force to conquer it, like he was taught and raised to do his entire life. Then there's his "we have a responsibility" quote, again this is his life, it's all he knows. And yet Nolan has these moments of hesitation. The seeds for the whole "Nature vs Nurture" could be argued were in Nolan long before Mark was born. Mark just helped trigger that internal conflict. God I love the character writing here. Especially the scene with a young Mark playing sports, where Nolan sees it as a waste if time, then Debbie rags on Nolan to be proud of what they created, be happy because of Mark. Not surprised Nolan seemingly one day snapped 180°, killing the Guardians. He probably fooled himself too well, then had a sudden realisation of the reason why he was there in the first place, living two lives, as Nolan, or the Viltrumite Conquerer. Common troupe in the spy genre, believing the life you've infiltrated is your own, and putting your own desires above the mission.
I think the way Nolan presented himself to humanity and starting a family was probably "standard procedure," or at least not unusual. Taking a few years to establish himself as the #1 superhero and gain the trust of leaders and governments is just a normal task given Viltrumites are effectively immortal. Only when he started to love his family did he really stray from his mission. Omni-Man was already the #1 superhero long before Mark got his powers, yet in all that time it didn't seem like he used his position to become a military or political leader.
The whole purpose of their mission is to find species that are compatible with Viltrumites so they can repopulate and grow their Empire. They have no problem playing the waiting game. Nolan never counted on caring about any of them, he was always within the perimeters of his mission. Blend in, reproduce, conquer.
Nolan was given like 500 years to conquer Earth, which by galactic standards is considered a remote and "boring" planet, it was basically a vacation for him. Also, Viltrumites try and adapt to each planet first, they don't always come in guns blazing. And after Nolan discovered that human DNA was basically a perfect match with Viltrumite DNA and could produce children that were like 99.9% Viltrumite, he realized how important it was to keep Earth's population safe.
@@publiusventidiusbassus1232 Well said, Ven...🤔 So *how was important to keep the population of planet Earth 🌍🌏🌎 safe* in the first place? Instead of *snapping-up a half of universe's population* or even, *killing-up the gum-danked 80% of humanity* yet...by *producing a children, that were like 99.9% Viltrumite* in the end alright 😞?
2:02 the way his voice breaks when he says that... you can see how much he regrets lying to Debbie, and that he DID care no matter what he said afterwords.
A lot of what Nolan was saying was more to convince himself more so than Mark but the part where he mentions not wanting his son to watch the people he cares about grow old wither and die while he is still young was utterly genuine. That would be horrible to see friends and family you grew up with and are the same age grow old and die while you are effectively frozen in time. To also know that all the people you will ever know or care for will end up the same while you have to watch it all helpless to stop it.
3:30 from here up until Nolan said his wife is a pet, he “may” have persuaded Mark. There was some hesitation from Mark when he talked about the benefits , or maybe that was mark still being unsure. But of course Nolan dropped the P-word and messed up his argument. Almost had him
Notice how his voice trembles when he sayd "I couldn't tell your mother" at 2:03. She is not just a pet to him. He doesn't want to do what he's doing anymore.
Nolan was amazingly calm given all the fighting he had just been through. Cecil threw everything he had at him, including Frankenstein monsters and a Kaiju. Yet, he still explained everything well. "Like a pet" is brutal, but accurate given his power and longevity. Think about how we love our dogs and cats, but know we are going to outlive them and we are far more sophisticated. The only part that doesn't work for me is "Viltrumite blood is so pure you're almost full blooded." That makes no sense given how chromosomes work particularly given that Mark is male and the Y chromosome is smaller than the X he received from his mother.
Viltrumite dna pretty much "writes over" the dna of other species. Another hybrid showed traits similar to their non-viltrumite parent at first (having purple skin) but even that faded over time for a more human/viltrumite look. It's comics, so it doesn't make scientific sense, but that's how it is
@@themangacomic6651 i always viewed it as viltrumites probably carry reverse transcriptase and telomere markers which assimilate non viltrum DNA after enough time has passed for the DNA to respond.
It's even funnier when we later found out that almost all of the "strong" viltrumites dies to one breed of virus, because they narrowed their gene pool so much they are technically asking to go extinct

Realistically, Cecil or other Earth governments should be discovering and reverse engineering alien tech already. Not that any of it would be much help against the Viltrumites. Human society is of course deeply divided and full of war and poverty. Such an arrangement might not be so bad if arrived at democratically and if the Viltrumites actually kept their end of the bargain. But despotic empires tend not to do this once handed the keys the power.
3:55 is where he messed up......The reasonings of living 10k years, and helping earth with tech and med were very strong and you can see mark starting to think, BUT WHEN HE SAID HIS MOM WAS A PET.....NAW BRO
"This isn't how I wanted to do this, but I don't have a choice" "It's not something I want for you" sums up pretty much everything he's doing. He put it off for twenty years but it's not up to him anymore.
I won’t lie the speech was super convincing and I think it could have played out invincible would have joined. Right until he called his mom a pet. That was the breaking point.
Some people love their pets as much as their children. It's hard to get this attached to someone you know is gonna die many decades (centuries) before you.
Because you look at this from a normal human's perspective. Nolan is a Viltrumite, he's over 2000 y/o and this is probably not the first planet that he had conquered. In fact, in the comics after he leaves Earth he starts a new family with a bug-woman and has another son lol. For him his Earth wife is just a small period of his life. Probably like a hamster to us regular humans. Yes, humanity definitely changed his views on life in the end, but at this point in the story that we see here - he doesn't really care yet.
He was considering his father's words and trying to make sense of them, but it was all so far out of his understanding that he wasn't grasping much. Nolan saying he viewed his mother as a pet, however *is* something he could comprehend, even if it shocked him.
what people don't realize is the fact Nolan is already well over a thousand years old here, possibly two thousand even. him saying he loved someone like a pet isnt actually as much of an insult as humans think.
Honestly, had Omni-Man chosen his words more carefully and refrained from calling Mark's mother a pet, he could've perhaps convinced him. To have a more advanced alien race fixing our problems doesn't sound that bad

I feel like this process of eliminating the weak on their home planet would collapse on itself. Like what exactly do the Viltrumites consider weak on their planet, weak in power, personality, achievement? Also, what about children on Viltrum, they must not be as strong the adults so would they be eliminated? I mean i didnt see any children in the clip. Also, what made them stop at half, if they were so content of making each other perfect, why would they stop at half? Also, wouldnt whoever gets chosen as leader have multiple attempts on their life as well? Seriously, how did they decided a leader after this, i assume a lot of viltrumites tried to go for that position?
I think if you could hold your own in a 1v1 against another average viltrimite you would probably be allowed to survive. The ones who couldn't take a beating, like the elderly or physically or genetically weaker ones died. Also a lot of infighting probably happened as well. I think the weirder question is do viltrimites, aliens from far away, look like a humans??? We filthy humans have no right to judge our superiors ways. They think beyond what we filthy mortals consider knowable. The Viltrumites are GOOD and they have come to SAVE us; that's all we need understand. :)
By the time they achieved their goal, half the population was dead. That's not the same as deciding the purge should end once half the population was dead. If children were held to the same standard as adults, there wouldn't be a new generation to succeed them.
I actually understand what he meant by a pet. Yes, he loves his wife like we do, but he understands that she will live and die in a short amount of his time.
I don't think that's all he meant. To me it sounded like he called her inferior to him. We love our pets but we know they're not like us in any real way.
He actually loves her more than anyone except Mark he's lying to himself here and he knows it hence why he turns away in the end being the second only Viltrumite to betray the empire
Anybody who has a pet would understand (though I really hate using that term). They may be much smaller, far more fragile than us, but they are just as important to us as any other family member. Despite this, every day we have to accept and live with the fact that the time we spend together will only be a brief moment in our lives. It's a painful reality to accept. Now imagine that, but with your own wife. Before it was clear to Nolan that Mark had powers, it was a possibility that he will eventually leave too. Combined with the very reason you're supposed to be on that planet in the first place, what else can you do other than to cope with the feeling?
To put into perspective how long they will live. Assuming a Viltrumite lives ONLY 2,000 years 77 earth years (average us lifespan) is only the equivalent to 3 years for them. Shorter than highschool lasted. That means being married for 50 years is the equivalent to dating someone for 2 years for them. a 'Generation' for humans is only 20-30 years, meaning every equivalent year an entire new generation of humans occurs. And if you look at info from outside the series (comics, handbooks) Viltrumite's likely live 10,000+ years easily but is speculated to be near infinite as aging slows down more and more as they get older. If it is ONLY 10,000 years dating someone for 77 years is like dating someone for a couple of months. Aka he has been dating nolans mom for the equivalent of a dozen or so days for him. If i met a person and we immediately became inseparable for a couple days and then they left. I wouldnt be that sad about losing them. Him calling his wife a pet is almost an overstatement.
1:14-1:18 I just noticed three Viltrumites were Conquest, Kregg, and Thula. Hopefully they show more Viltrumites in the future seasons, like Lucan and... (sigh) Anissa.

I can tell that Nolan loves his son a lot more than Eve’s dad loves her. The sadness he carries with him, that he masks with anger, shows that he truly loves mark and Debbie. But he’s loyal to Viltrum above all else, and he shows it. But Eve’s dad has only ever discouraged her, always telling her what her life should be because all he wants is for her to love the most boring normal life. Instead of supporting her even a little, he begrudgingly goes along with stuff that he clearly does not want. Because it’s all about him, not what his daughter wants. Nolan clearly loved and supported his son when he was younger. Obviously I’m not saying Mark deserved to be pummeled to near death, but at least we actually see Nolan loving and supporting his son before doing the most batshit insane thing he could have done.
@@gin-lf9ye yeah…. Although eve also made a terrible mistake because she did think she was above the rules. Of course her dad used that to hurt her more than she deserved
He ages slower as he got older. He stays in Prime state until he dies, so he will only get stronger the older he gets. And spoiler alert. He's already the strongest Viltrumite by the time he's in his 20s, so you can imagine how powerful he will become once he reaches thousands of years.
When you hear this for the first time and you go back to the first episode or two, it really dawns on your that it was really Mark setting things into motion and not Nolan. Sure Nolan killed the guardians of the globe but that was only AFTER he learned that Mark had gained his powers. Something that I’m not sure he wanted to happen. But once Mark was confirmed to be a pure blooded Viltrumite, that was pretty much Nolan’s queue to get his plan into motion.
True Nolan had come to accept that Mark wouldn't have powers, after watching the Atom Eve Special it's pretty clear that he expected him to have his powers when he was like 11 or 12. By the time Mark was a teenager he had already given up on his son having powers, so he was gonna live his life as a human until Debbie & Mark died of old age and then proceeded to continue his mission
Despite how old and wise Nolan seemingly is, It’s genuinely astounding to see how naive he was being here. He honestly thought Mark would just accept all of this, no questions asked and no pushback whatsoever……
Honestly from Nolan’s perspective being raised in the viltrum empire surrounded by genocide and war this is just a way of life it’s normal to him. And the little info added about how insanely long their lifespan is you start to think how could he ever care for earth
He could've just said I love your mother and our empire could give her the DNA of our own to increase her lifespan to become a Viltrumite but sadly omni man's pride got in the way. He should've practiced more what he was about to say
Yeah, but did you hear that part about "Viltrumite dna is the purest", I think Viltrumites view themselves as a master race so they'd never accept a human as an equal.
@kaibaman2102 If you really want to know, and what I type is spoilers from the comics. Viltrumites do think of them as a superior race, but what "Viltrum DNA is so pure" actually means is Vilturmites can crossbreed with different compatable beings and those children eventually become more Viltrumite as they age. Rather than a 50/50 split. The offspring will come close to their powers and appearance, but never 100%.
I mean when you look at the insignia that Omniman wears is also the same symbol for the empire, it certainly reminds me of something familiar from our own history.
Mark is inocently correct. Even being so powerfull (just like Nolan alone destroying the entire planet on other dimension) there is no reasonable way of conquering earth, nor argue that with a half-human.
i like the detail that the female Viltrumite at 1:18 appears in season 2 but looks much older bc it had to have been thousands of years since the purge since Omni-Man is around 2k years old
What I like about this show is that Earth is a strong planet. Not full space age, but Robot is stronger than many Viltrumites Atom Eve could desintegrate them, if not for mental blocks Earthen Mafia hires people who specialise at killing Viltrumites It's not Wargammer, but I like stories where Earth is strong and not just because of like 10 superpeople
The thing about Nolan referring to Debbie as a pet is that it’s a lot less heartless than it would initially seem. From Nolan’s perspective, Debbie could never possibly live as long as any Viltrumite and she’s also a different species from Nolan, yet he seems to love her anyway. People tend to genuinely love their pets, even considering them equal to family, but those feelings won’t ever change the extent of any pets lifespan nor the difference in power between a pet and it’s owner. What Nolan said was certainly upsetting and dehumanizing, but from his perspective, no more inaccurate than how we view our own pets… with one VERY significant legal difference. 😅
This episode is a total game changer. I even thought that Nolan is acting like a rebel or being a criminal in Viltrum - only for him to reveal the true scope of Viltrum and its galaxy spanning empire. And the fact that its an empire, that alone really put to scope why a coalition of planets are even forming just to even have a fighting chance against a planet full of Saiyan like Supermen geez....
The scariest thing about this scene is the fact that despite Nolan's immense power, this is where everything about him boils down and reveals his true self; an Elite Viltrumite whom swore loyalty to his Empire, and puts his Empire before his own family. He views humankind as a means to produce hybrids at best, but also knows for a fact that he will outlive them many times over; given what he says about how slow Viltrumites age, he looks 50 in human years yet could possibly 5,000 years old.
It's kinda refreshing to see that he has to think hard about all of the points he had to come up with himself in his time on Earth. It's saddening though that you can see that he has to remind himself of these points (Giving them technology ahead of their time, stopping war and hunger, we already saved them a bunch) to try and convince Mark.
Viltrum is arguably one of the most compelling fictional civilizations in fiction, they allude that before the Purge, Viltrumites lived human lifespans and only after technological advancement did they become these nigh god like beings.
Nolan wasn't trying to convince Mark that his way is right, but trying to convince *himself* that Debbie's way of life is wrong. He's caught in his own mental juggle of wether or not to bettay his comfortable, easy going life as a writer/superhero and throw it all away to be the loyal soldier he was bred to be. I hope that he sees that the Viltrumites ways are wrong and redeems himself, somehow.
Hardly they would just enforce it and so the people of said world would just resent them for the oppression despite all the positives. In short as a species it would put them under a short of "supsended animation" and chances are it would make them worse if they got out of it. No, real development. Empire works on barbarians with little to no structure to everyone else it is harmful.

I like the small detail that Nolan was born after the Purge. He has no idea if life before Viltrum’s Purge was “better”, he just commits genocides and betrays his friends because he believes in a history written by the Viltrumites who committed genocides and betrayed their friends.

And has an insect wife
Why would Nolan hope Mark didnt get powers? I havent read the comics just watched the first season on prime

Nolan had to, in some level, been really proud of Mark putting his fists up against a clearly superior enemy instead of just backing down.
Definitely, and for the most part he likely viewed it as him trying to "discipline" his kid.
Why didn't they just repopulate with themselves instead of breeding with an "inferior" species?
@@taraungoogle8482 Lack of numbers for the most part. The Scourge Virus was a very recent development, so recent that the Viltrumites are still trying find a solution to their population problem (since even a super race can't regrow a viable population amongst themselves with just a few dozen individuals without there being genetic complications.)
Nolan discovering that Earthling/Viltrumite hybrids are just as viable as full viltrumites was more of a happy accident then an actual option the Viltrumites were taking seriously. Heck, even after the other Viltrumites discovered this themselves they still didn't take it seriously out of pride until certain events in the comic forced their hand. Because yeah, turns out Nolan is actually one of the less stubborn and more introspective Viltrumites, if you can believe it.

Ah yes, 4th season coming out in 2055 if they keep this pace
Every time I see Omni-Man revealing that he's himself and not being controlled by any third party host, especially with that calm voice of his, it gives me chills; an utter feeling of despair, knowing that the father-son relationship is forever ruined and that it'll only get worse from there.
This scene still HAUNTS me to this day.
I like how they have viltrumites age slower the older they get. So that they can grow up fast and then live for a long time.
The end result of this father and son fight is the first time a friggin cartoon made me hold back some tears. As a father it hit. Excellent writing.

We love each other so much that having each other means more than all the riches in the world.
I cant tell if the "As a father it hit" line had a double meaning or not
I've not watched this show at all, but the performance of Omni-Man's voice actor is deeply chilling in this.

Yeah basically a pet.
Steven Yeun is such a great actor

Honestly I think Vegeta would understand the weakest. Half the population? He would have started fighting by the 25% mark.
considering Omniman's sort of conversion story has to have taken a bit from Vegeta's own, I think "Current" Vegeta would not like them too much.
Vegeta would only see Viltrumites as a threat and an enemy to Sayians.
Old Vegeta would vehemently strive to destroy all Viltrumites.
The newer one would... Hmh, dunno.
Vegeta never dreamed to be a leader of an e.pire, ot was just his way to cope the fact that he (and his race) were slaves to others, despite being a "Master race" on their own before, since childhood the only thing that kept Vegeta goals intact of.overcome freezer was the legend of the supersaiyam, he wanted a payback so i don't think at any point Vegeta would be cool with viltrumites, cause his desore of power was just his response to all the abuse he had to endure at young agr
He’d low-mid diff Viltrum.
I love how Omni man is basically Invader Zim if he were competent
Omni Man with the voice of Norbert/Khaos/Zim etc. LOL
1:13 Lol thats Thula and General Kregg, talk about foreshadowing-
Also Conquest.
Obviously I’m not saying Mark deserved to be pummeled to near death, but at least we actually see Nolan loving and supporting his son before doing the most batshit insane thing he could have done.
after the latest episode... yeesh. eve's dad is actually the worst
@@gin-lf9ye yeah…. Although eve also made a terrible mistake because she did think she was above the rules. Of course her dad used that to hurt her more than she deserved
So with the ageing process, does Mark just age normally like a human until hes 18 and then just stays looking like that for like half a century lol
Yes
Yes
The older they get the more stronger they become hence looking young
Mark ages slowly even as a teenager, his aging process slows down significantly as he gets older.
2:39
"Sure you were a viltromite", in other words, "sure your mother didn't cheat on me". 🤫
He already knew he was a Viltrumite, he just learned what that really means
He could've just said I love your mother and our empire could give her the DNA of our own to increase her lifespan to become a Viltrumite but sadly omni man's pride got in the way. He should've practiced more what he was about to say
Or just say the women r better than Amber on viltrum
Yeah, but did you hear that part about "Viltrumite dna is the purest", I think Viltrumites view themselves as a master race so they'd never accept a human as an equal.
@kaibaman2102 If you really want to know, and what I type is spoilers from the comics. Viltrumites do think of them as a superior race, but what "Viltrum DNA is so pure" actually means is Vilturmites can crossbreed with different compatable beings and those children eventually become more Viltrumite as they age. Rather than a 50/50 split. The offspring will come close to their powers and appearance, but never 100%.
@@catdogmousecheese They literally are the master race though. They're immortal and can wipe entire civilizations on their own.
Such a great show ,in my top 10 for animated shows of all time
i like the detail that the female Viltrumite at 1:18 appears in season 2 but looks much older bc it had to have been thousands of years since the purge since Omni-Man is around 2k years old
What I like about this show is that Earth is a strong planet.
Not full space age, but Robot is stronger than many Viltrumites
Atom Eve could desintegrate them, if not for mental blocks
Earthen Mafia hires people who specialise at killing Viltrumites
It's not Wargammer, but I like stories where Earth is strong and not just because of like 10 superpeople
0:48 I really liked the music. Should have been a bit louder
"Give them medical technology centuries ahead of what they have now..."
*Ok where do I sign up*
Steven nailed perfoming such complicated emotions, we can nearly feel all the emotions printed in his voice.
1:15 For those who are not familiar with the comics, you have no idea how much of a treath and a savage that old man is
This episode is a total game changer.
One of the best scenes from this to the fight sequence…the build up was pristine
One of my favorite scenes in all of television series. So good.
The Viltrum Empire is essentially what General Zod wanted for Krypton
0:58 first shot of Viltrum and you see some guy being shotput'd out of the planet
These mofos dont mess around
1:08 I like how he just flies after slicing her up in half like "TOODLES!"
Crazy. I just binged the entire season 1 for the third time yesterday. Excited for S2
Nola’s right. Only through the Empire can there be peace, freedom, and technical advancement.
Besides slavery and tyranny??
Not at all. There would be oppression, slavery etc.
Be a second-class citizen in your own land? My grandfather lived that life. I don't want to. I'd rather be "poor" with freedom than being "rich" without any freedom.
3:28: Then go back where you came from!
"Remove the weak from our society."
Fancy way to say you had a horrific civil war.
if omni man would have waited to reveal his darkness long enough , for instance , if he waited till everyone mark knew had died , then I think mark would have joined him
