@@BCII My goal is to change education to a more understanding curriculum. And raise the minimum wage and work on prison reform to save on the budget. And bring Alabama out of the pass into the future. If Alabama football can do it surely we as a state can move closer to being number one in the nation.
Tina, my wife and I moved here 4.5 years ago from Phoenix. My coworkers and neighbors still ask me if last summer was worse than Phoenix. We still say 99 here with humidity is easier to take than 117 in Phoenix. I grew up between Chicago and Milwaukee and my wife was a out west Gal we believe one of the best things here in the Spanish Fort Fairhope area are the people there are the friendliest we have ever met. People don’t understand if they’ve never lived in huge cities of Phoenix where there’s 5 million people within a 70 mile circle that nobody is really kind and willing to help you. Everything is 50% faster living in the big city. Living here, also has made me personally a more patient person, because nothing in the south is really pressing to get done. It could always be done the next day. 😊 Some cons that I would say about this area are there are no good Mexican restaurants, no good pizza places, and we finally found a great Chinese restaurant after four years the Shanghai cottage in Fairhope is big city quality. Both my wife and I love it here and plan to spend the rest of our lives here.
🤣 you are definitely right about a slower pace here! My husband talks about no authentic Mexican food also! Since you grew up in Chicago, I’m sure you can’t find any pizza that compares! I’m so glad you love it here!! And thank you for your lovely comment! If I can every help you don’t hesitate to reach out!
Hey Tina, I am recently retired & we evacuated for the last 2 hurricanes from Ne2 Orleans to friends in Foley. We started thinking of moving in Sept 2021 but the raise in home cost is scaring us. We are working with an agent and we appreciate & thank you for your videos.
There are no mountains, but there are lots of rolling hills around here 😀, which are nice and add elevation to a lot of areas. Plus it’s not too far from the bigger mountains if you want to go see those… 👍🏻
I’m planning on moving there in 2025. Preferably around May, June or July. I lived in Fl for ten years and I don’t want to go back. I’ve seen many videos on Fairhope and I decided I’ll give it a try! I’m all about adventure! If you don’t try, how will one ever know? I don’t know anyone who lives there but it won’t be long once I’m settled to meet new friends! I need to find a rental place in a retirement community. I’ll be 62 in April. If it’s income based, even better!
Hey Tina, Thank you for the video. My brother and I was down there in October so I could see what I would like for retirement. I did retire November 2021 and loving it. We were there for 4 days and he took me to the beach and Mobile Bay and loved it. I plan to sell my home here in Wisconsin and come there, but this housing market got me a little afraid to move right now. I need to get away from here to warmer climate and cheaper COLA, as the COLA here is not it for retirement. I would really like to talk to someone who can guide me though this crazy housing market. Your information was very helpful. I will keep searching, but don't to take to long and get stuck here.
Darlene I’d be happy to talk with you and guide you through the process. Plus, I want to hear about the cost of COLA up there! Give me a call and we can chat! 251-295-6071
I really don't have any knowledge on that topic. I would think it would depend on the insurance company coverage and policy you have available to you. My coverage is through my husband's work. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and it's been good for my family. Sorry, I'm not much help on this topic.
@@billstenos1043 because of Realtor's code of ethics and Fair Housing license laws I can not answer that question. I can certainly direct you to websites to help you with your research to determine if you believe this is an area you are wanting to call home. crime.alabama.gov/Data/LocalCrime and www.baldwincountyal.gov/government/municipalities websites might help you. Also, please feel free to call the local police departments for more information.
