Thanks for the tips! We just ate at Arcadia and it was fantastic! My mom is GF and was so excited to be able to have so many options including moussaka and pita bread! 😊

I went to Corfu for a week, first holiday since I was diagnosed and I had a lovely time too. You are right about knowledge of gluten-free, some people didn’t understand at all and some people really understood. I did have a gluten-free travel card from coeliac sanctuary but I didn’t use it much, as I realised it was best to say I had an allergy to gluten which was understood better. Which I know is not correct, anyway I ate well but there was one time in Corfu town when I was given a Greek salad with bread in it! Luckily I realised and it was changed, not mentioned on the menu either. Glad you enjoyed your holiday ☀️xx

I get a room with a cook top and cook for myself a lot in Greece. I stay long on a smaller island and it gets exhausting trying to explain. My pet peeve is that utensils very often come in the complimentary bread basket, right on top! And that flour can be hidden in strange places! An omelette once! Be sure to say no flour, no wheat, no bread. Allergy! I can say it in Greek and English. (Όχι αλεύρι/όχι σιτάρι/όχι ψωμί!) On a positive note it is definitely getting better! I found GF bread in the market this year!) On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 5 this year.

Thanks for the holiday update, glad you did a bit of chillaxing. It definitely makes me want to go there. You have me intrigued with the iced coffees, yum!

Hey, I was just recently diagnosed and I’d love to know what are the usual precautions that you take at places like gelato places to avoid cross contamination? I’m really scared of eating anywhere outside of my own kitchen and it’s made me miserable. How can I eat an any restaurant, even just salads, when cross contamination exists? I don’t want to tell everybody I’m gluten-free all the time, that makes me really uncomfortable. I don’t like attention too much. Any tips?
