05:25 When standing on the Ad side and running around your backhand to hit a forehand, "inside out" means hitting cross court and swinging *away* from the body. "Inside in" means hitting down the line and swinging *across* the body.
And when standing on the Deuce side and hitting a typical normal cross court forehand, you are also swinging *away* from the body. And when going down the line, you swinging *across* the body.
    Correct?

💯 on the first part but on a normal crosscourt forehand the orientation of your swing will be more across your body (with extension hoopefull). When going down the line from the deuce court it's easier to achieve optimal extension because you're swinging away from your body beforethe follow through. Hope this helps!

@@Playyourcourt Yes, very helpful. Just realized that on the Deuce side, you are hitting a different part of the ball when going cross-court as compared to running around the backhand and going cross-court from the Ad side. As a result, the orientation of the swing (across the body vs away from the body) will be different.

The biggest problem most recreational players have is the extension through the ball. No extension, no spin, no power, most likely sailing long. The buggy whip in super slow motion is a perfect example of what is ACTUALLY happening when the pros hit a tennis ball. Extension.

Don't worry I'm not in love with the Buggy Whip. 😊
Prefer the conventional forehand where chest faces the right side fence on the finish.
But I am curious about the Buggy Whip Rafa often employs as a neutral ball rally shot as in 03:33. Would it be accurate to say that there is less hip rotation given that Rafa's chest faces more towards the net on the finish rather than the side fence?

I just found you, I am a member where you go; why did you quit coaching there?

Hi, as you can imagine as PYC has grown things have gotten very busy and unfortunately my ability to coach full time wasn't possible. Loved my time coaching at the PA and still enjoy playing there!

As someone whose been to the Rafa academy and asked Toni himself how Rafa hits his forehand and i can say that this is not entirely correct.

Thanks for the feedback. The tip is a small nuance that Rafa uses on the forehand but theres certainly a lot more to it that makes his forehand one of the best in the world. Very cool, you got to spend time with Toni and train at the Rafa Academy.

This guy doesn’t know how to do this correctly. Don’t listen to him. Just watch Rafa and learn how to do it yourself!! I did!!

Better follow Roger's or Novak's shot rather than Rafa in order to be injury free. Rafa is abnormal.

It’s not a trick. I have the same forehand as Rafa and there’s no magic trick. It’s a fundamentally different way to hit forehands.

how do you control it? I tried it tonight and it gives me more spin and power BUT if I dont brush over the ball heavily it goes flying out. Do you know what I mean? like too powerful
