I strongly believe that John was likely abusing her for a while beforehand. So many signs point to long term sexual abuse, and John would be the most likely culprit. Its always possible they were involved in a bigger sex ring of some sort considering their connections.
The other option is she wet the bed, Patsy got too angry about it and hurt her. Then cue the cover up.
Either way though, I strongly believe she was being sexually abused. Possibly Burke as well considering her had similar behavior concerns.

If you're a stranger, you've never been in the house before you may not know that secondary staircase even exists also you wouldn't think to leave the note there because it might not be found, you'd probably leave it on the child's bed or the kitchen counter maybe, somewhere you'd want to be sure it's found right away

There are times we’re patsy just looks TERRIFIED of him and could explain her writing the note (at his instruction). Yes, the “What did you do,” is totally directed at Patsy rather than Burke, but the, “We’re not talking to you,” is for a couple of reasons. At Burke’s age in 1996, he was old enough to have been taught that you tell the police the truth. If John and Patsy told the police that he was asleep, they wouldn’t question him. If Burke isn’t questioned immediately, then John and Patsy have time to coach him. Sadly common in domestic situations, this makes sense. What also makes sense is that Patsy accidentally killed JonBenet and hid her body in the basement. John went down there and saw the body before coming back upstairs and asking Patsy what she did to which Burke asked his father what he’d found down in the basement.

to me it is so clear that the father did it and had connections to be able to get protection. JB was sexually abused chronically, injuries too harsh, he found the body, then tried to leave the state immediately after. Patsy helped him cover it up to keep the money and status bc she would lose her perfect little world if he went to jail and they lost their money. Burke was probably abused too, or is just an odd kid. But its the only theory that makes perfect sense too me, and it explains why JB had bladder problems bc she was probably in pain down there. But this case is so heartbreaking.

Burke’s behavior as a child during the interview is more a sign of a turbulent childhood than being the perpetrator. When my ex’s mom died of cancer, his 9 year old sister was laughing, excited, playing, dancing, hyper. It was uncomfortable and a little creepy. But more a sign that her home life was erratic before the death. When kids aren't taught how to regulate their emotions at a basic level, grief and processing can look inappropriate, I think.

Agree with you. I’ve never bought the whole Burke being responsible scenario to be honest. I actually believe he was a victim of abuse in the home also, perhaps not to the extent jon benet was, or perhaps in different ways but I feel certain he is a child that has endured severe trauma. The bed wetting and faecial smearing are behaviours associated with child sexual abuse , i also wonder if he was perhaps a little jealous of his younger sister as she took up most of the attention and focus of the adults. Even if that attention is of the inappropriate type, as a child who has grown up around this type of behaviour, would simply not know any different.

    • @LuckyGirlsTown
      @LuckyGirlsTown 2 роки тому +94

Also, because a child’s understanding of death isn’t fully formed until about age 12, young children will inevitably grieve differently and flit between emotions more so than adults. They “live in the moment”, sad one minute and happily playing the next. Burke avoiding mention of his sister in the interview from 97 could also stem from him not being the type of kid to become emotional in front of people he doesn’t know very well.
I work with traumatized kids and they will look strangely normal when observed from the outside until they get triggered (or even just provoked) in a safe setting. Two wildly different presentations of the same child.

I don’t blame them… if police had enough they would have arrested them and the Ramsey’s are smart enough to exercise use their right to remain silent. Shoddy police work messed this case up. What police officer asks the victim/ perp to search the house? I believe the intruder theory

And him telling this strange lady he wouldn't tell her his secrets is also normal. I think both Burke and JonBenet were being abused regularly. Jon is an extremely powerful man, and we know what powerful men are known for (i.e. Epstein). It’s weird that JonBenet and Burke were not the only ones having issues with wetting the bed, but also Jon’s older children. My only thought is, if Burke had nothing to do with it (and is also on the autism spectrum), it would be so incredibly sad how many people thought it was him (and discussed his behavior as “weird”). Especially if he were also a victim. No matter what, this case is tragic.

The perpetrator would’ve had to know that Pasty and John would come down on that set of stairs and not the main set at the front of the house. You would assume that since the perpetrator would’ve accessed JonBenet’s room from the main staircase, that is where they would’ve left the note.

Patricia Ramsey's behavior was odd,to say the least.
The placement of the ransom note. The note being written on her tablet, using her pen. Those being returned to their proper spot.
Her still being dressed from the night before. Absolutely no way did she get up and dress in party clothes for their trip. Nobody does that. She then deliberately wears an outfit for a media interview that she had worn on a previous interview to show that she does indeed wear the same clothes twice. Why would she be concerned about that? That would be the last thing I would be thinking of if my child had been brutally murdered.
Not hovering over the phone when it was time for the ransom call.
Her saying she caused JonBenét's death by using purple ribbon on the Christmas tree.
The pineapple. The tablespoon used to eat the pineapple rather than a teaspoon.
      The flashlight.
Not excluding her as the author of the note.
These are just the ones I can think of at the moment. Every time I begin to think she didn't have anything to do with JonBenét's death, I always come back to those. Maybe Patricia didn't have anything to do with it, I don't know. But these things are concerning.

So I don’t know

    • @marythecontrarian
      @marythecontrarian 2 роки тому +11

A child that young is a loose canon. They may be trained to stay quiet, they may even be brainwashed, but the parents have no guarantee he would not speak to the friends. So unless these friends are involved in this as well, I agree. There is more holes than things that make sense for Burke to be the perpetrator. All you have to believe to think he didn’t do it is for Patsy to have said, “I’m not talking to you” to John and then Burke, being confused, asked what was happening. And he knew nothing more than that.
Besides, the rate of an 8 year old abusing their sister without both of them being abused by an outside adult is incredibly minuscule.
And what 8 year old knows what a garrote is and how to use it? Because she was not dead, only unconscious before the garrote was used. Even if Burke knocked her out, whoever assaulted her and tied the garrote are the ones that hold the bigger crimes: murder and sexual assault of a minor.

    Here are my thoughts:
    - Jon Ramsey ran with a tight knit, wealthy and powerful crowd and made his money in more ways than just being a business man. Epstein was a “business man” too.
    - Jon took JonBenet out for a “visit” with one of his friends and it went too far.
    - Patsy was threatened and coerced into writing the ransom note which is why she was so adamant she didn’t write it - in her mind she didn’t.
    - She couldn’t bring herself to accept the reality of the situation. She’s a pro at disassociating. (Look into her upbringing and you’ll understand why)
    - The Ramseys knew what kind of pull they had in the community and Jon probably had some buddies in the local law enforcement that owed him some favors.
    - Burke is a kid on the spectrum who’s went through traumatic abuse. Whatever JonBenet was getting, he got too.

Or, neglect. I have 2 people close to me that have had bed wetting issues with their children and it was an attempt to get more attention. They were not doing it on purpose, per se. Meaning, they didn't wake up and intentionally pee the bed. It was a subconscious action based on their needs/wants.

Or it really is just a medical issue that runs in the family. Personal experience here. My ex-husband as a child was a bed wetter and all three of our children were as well. None of them were SA’d. I can absolutely attest that my children never were because we don’t do sleepovers until the teen years and they only stay with their father and my mother. My youngest just stopped at 10 and my oldest was 12 when he stopped. I don’t know whether or not the Ramsey‘s are monsters but I’m not willing to say the children with bedwetting issues are SA’d.

The specific way the parents behave after the fact, I would guess that the mom was the one who snapped and killed her that night, and the dad told her she had to figure out a way to cover it up. I don’t think the brother was involved. I think he was probably being abused too.

During their layover, they found out that JonBenét had been “kidnapped” and was missing, so instead of flying to Michigan, they got onto a flight to Colorado. BUT, now John is saying that he needed to fly to Atlanta for an important business meeting?!? That doesn’t make any sense, considering his entire family was supposed to be on a plane to Michigan at that very moment.

Jon was saying,”We are saying anything to police” I think Patsy was mad at Jon for what has happened and said, “What did you do?” Knowing he must have done something. Or maybe she knew and was just saying that out of shock. Burke overheard, not knowing what is going on. He looks to his mom and asks, “What did you find?” He probably just walked up. That’s my take on the 911 audio.

I think so too. It's possible that the parents were talking about the basement/ referring to it in conversation and Burke was curious. Maybe his parents kept going down there & wouldn't let him go there. Which would be odd for Burke because he was allowed to play in basement normally (he had toys down there), so it makes sense he's asking "what did you find"?
