    The officers that are saying this injury is from a fall clearly should not be in law. This is the laziest police work I have ever seen. A 5 year old can tell you this is ABUSE. I really hope these officers were taken off the case . As a police department I would be embarrassed.

      How is he not in jail for her death? The amount of physical abuse she sustained is undeniable. Falling in the bathroom doesn't cause bruises from head to toe and broken bones on your toes. Not only should Joey be in jail but the police officers and department need to be under investigation. They sound shady as hell.

    I find most true crime UA-camrs exploitative; making money off people's suffering, using it to try and become famous, posting stories just because they are in the news cycle and will get them views etc.
    But Kendall and Josh are different. They do good work with their channels and you can tell they care. It's really good to hear her say that certain people have tried to help her. I don't see how you can morally justify true crime if you don't help the victims.

    If this was a child who had "fell" and the parents failed to seek medical help they would be arrested for negligence at the very least! (I hope) I didn't know this was any different for humans over the age of 18. Truly pathetic.

    • @shadygirlxoxo
      @shadygirlxoxo 2 роки тому +3

      Of course children are different!!!! Just saying, minors depend on adults for everything they need to live. Children are the most precious commodity we have as a society, they’re our future. As you say, “humans over the age of 18” are adults, and responsible for themselves. If they fall shitfaced drunk, it’s their own fault.
      I am by no means saying that there’s no foul play in this case, I’ve seen it covered by multiple true crime UA-camrs/podcasts & I’m aware of the circumstances. But to compare an adult to a child makes zero sense🤷🏽‍♀️

      @darali you literally said “endanger and withholding medical attention for an incapacitated person” is the same for an adult as a child?
      “Honey” NOT ACCORDING TO THE FUCKIN LAW (which I do understand) & that’s why I pointed out the difference.
      What this dude did is obviously criminal! But law enforcement easily brushed this abuse under the rug because Melissa (an adult) had substance abuse issues. It’s absolutely tragic, but cops are real dickheads when the victim has substance issues, and pretty much turn a blind eye. Even so, had a child been hurt this way, dude would likely be on death row… making my point that there is a difference!

    I work in the domestic abuse services, this is one of the most severe, volatile and inhumane cases I’ve ever heard about. I remember watching the original video which Kendall made, it always stuck with me. It’s so disturbing and beyond words. Melissa deserves justice. Thank you for describing the complex nature of abuse and arguing against the victim blaming question of “why not just leave”. How is there only TWO news articles about this case - and only ONE actually available to the public for free. This is insane. The negligence of the police and the audacity of it all... this case should have been national. The people who were supposed to investigate and didn't - they should have a criminal charge for being negligent, refusing to perform their duty to the community. Seriously. Why is this OK?

    Oh my gosh. This case.....Melissa was the first case I ever, ever could relate to. As a recovering addict, alcoholic who has survived abuse in a relationship.....I was left for.dead and abused severally. I was fed drugs to be kept quiet and controlled and I made it out. I am so, so, so happy to hear of her death certificate being changed and hopefully we can make change by calling writing, and the petition to get .....the person....allegedly.......held accountable. The original video took me days to complete because of PTSD -i want her killer put away
    Because she was murdered. She was murdered. And neglected. And I hate seeing other women being taken too soon at the hands of their partners who are too selfish to let them go for them to change for the better.

      I really struggled with this one too, as a fellow survivor and PTSD sufferer. So much of this abuse was flashing me back to my own, the similarities are actually scary and makes me even more grateful I got out when I did. But it's so important to talk about this and have Melissa's story heard, hoping they find her the justice she deserves and off to sign the petition now!

      @@nerolimclachlan1154 Yes! The memories during the original video.and danielle Halen's video too! It was too much, but I really wanted to know about Melissa, so it took me a while to get thru it. It definitely needs to be talked about. I hope once I graduate in 2 years to be able to be taken more seriously, because of my past, and able to start programs for abused women who suffer from addiction and mental illness. I'm sorry you have to go thru PTSD episodes and figure out this life without because of a selfish person . 💙💚

    This case has me so emotional, it sounds literally EXACTLY the same way my mom died back in 2008. She was in an abusive relationship, which led to all 5 of her kids being taken away and I believe wholeheartedly that she died because of her abuser. Doctors say otherwise, but she was in the hospital just weeks before from injuries he caused to her.
