This thing has gone from unloved and dumped at a used car lot to looking like it would sell for top dollar on BaT. That proper Speed Yellow looks amazing!
Thank you for the kind words!
What year is it? Great job!
Paint looks great!! However, I think the original red tail brake lights would look better than the clear ones. More stock look that matches that beautiful paint.
Good point. The paint looks so dam good and OEM now. A proper OEM tail light would look so clean.
Tail lights being addressed in the future, just some other things need fixing first!
13:57 I love it. It looks so much better with the new paint! Quite a transformation. Please tell me those tinted rear lights are on your radar though… 😂
🙏🏻
Def on the radar, just many other fixes needed first!
It's looking really good now, the all-yellow side intakes look so much better. Just needs OEM tail lights and (controversial) OEM Turbo wheels....
The wheels he has look really good but I think for the level of class for the car and era, they should be powder coated a dark/gunmetal gray
Tails coming, wheel color change is possible...
Well done, this was a milestone for your build. Top job Mat.
I’m getting excited for you. I imagined it would have been harder putting the car back together. It’s good to see how well you did. I bet it will be a big relief when you sort out the window regulator issue. The paint really has made a nice improvement I hope your enjoying the car much more.
It makes me really happy seeing all the progress you have done to this Porsche. I have done the same on a two door Opel Ascona 2.0L. The feeling of saving and completing something who was left to rust is priceless. Greetings from Greece.
These videos keep getting better and better in production and content! Keep up the good work!
Much appreciated!
I did the prep work on my old e36, props to these guys man. It’s so time consuming to make sure every inch is straight, smooth, and ready for paint.
Way to much work for me lol
Epic transformation! Keep up the hard work - it’s great to see you progress with this car.
GTI owner here, big props to you for not caving to the peer pressure and keeping the rear wiper. Everybody and their mother tells me I should delete mine but I keep it for the exact same reason you kept yours. I actually find it to be pretty useful!
Yup, and this is the closest thing I have to a DD so I'm keeping the wiper!
Well done Matt! The paint looks fantastic! Taking off the trim was very wise.
What a difference just the mirrors make being yellow but now the roof and the air intakes ...looks fantastic
Agreed!
@@matt13ross It's quite worrying how much effort and money the previous owner spent on this car to make it look and run so bad, they must have had money because the car and all the "mods" are not cheap , just incredibly poor taste. I'd love to know what they did with the OEM rear lights, probably binned them going by the decisions they made on the rest of the car.
Good job 👍! I’ve been following this build for awhile and it looks really good now
Came out great! Congrats on all the hard work!
You couldn't be more happy after so many work done on the "lemon". Great job Matt!
that paint job makes all the difference. Probably one of most value-add things you've done so far!
Great stuff mate! The new paint looks awesome! The roof painted in yellow looks way better. 👌
Had to turn the brightness down on my monitor, was like the sun coming up when the car was revealed, lol😀. Seriously, the car looks awesome , the paint has made a hell of a difference. Look forward to the next phase, I can see lowering and interior coming up soon. Happy for you mate!
Yup, interior and suspension coming!
I love the transformation of your Porsche mate. 👊🏻👊🏻
It always makes me happy, seeing people rescuing "old" cars. Greetings from Germany
Matt, use a light rubbing compound to clean the rubber trim. It removes the film and restores it perfectly. Then Gummi Pflege Stift to treat the rubber.
Looks amazing now!! the yellow roof and the spoiler all yellow, Perfect!!
Congratulations! The extra disassembly prep you did really made the re-paint not look like a re-paint. Needs a gloss black turbo badge on the back. Then you just need to lower it and straight pipe it lol Leaving the rear wiper as the right choice. Who cares about the passenger window at this point. 😅 I'm sure you feel proud, you should.
I think I'm going to stay badgeless.
@@matt13ross There's no wrong answer, right? I was just seeing it tie in with the tinted rear lights.
I'm so happy for you it looks great. you're giving me hope that my car will be back on the road 2...(hopefully)
Good job Matt, fun and enteraining as usual. Keep them coming, I love them!
Car looks great well done. 996s and 996 turbos look great when they have their bodywork sorted.
Wow!! I love it!! And thanks man, you closed the frunk the right way 😘
Congrats, holy moly, that made a huge change.. Bye bye blackbird....
Yes, stylish not to spatter shade of yellow and black parts all over.. This colour begin to make sence!
Even the blacked backlights seems to come together with the car, without shouting afterpart..
I'm glad you had the long time lapse of the prep that went into the paint job, because that's like 80% of a good paint job. Looks Great!
yeah when my dad called me into his shop telling me bout learning to use the spray gun.. what I really learned that day was how to wrestle a tape roll and how to sand lol
Looks great! Looks like you are missing the black, rubber gasket that goes under the front Porsche crest. They are readily available and really finish it off.
Ah, now I know about the gasket. A bunch of people commented this lol.
Absolutely agree with the decision to get rid of the black part in the turbo intakes, car looks great!
Looks terrific. I was after a Speed a yellow 997 myself. I ended up in a Yellow 997, not speed yellow, it I love it all the same. Also wish I had a rear wiper for no other reason than it’s cool. Keep it!
It looks amazing. Congratulations and great work!
Matt, you should be proud of yourself with all you had done prior to it being painted. Enjoy your ride homie, it’s well deserved.
Super happy for you brother…Looks great and came a looong way brother😎🤙
That baby looks show room ready! Love the side vents without the middle pieces. That yellow just pops!
Looks epic bro! I'm glad you kept it yellow! The silver thumbnail had me like NOOOOO!!
Great content Matt, loving your work. 😊
Looks so much better. Keep up the great content!
nice job!!! thx for the time/effort.
This 996 is turning into something great. Can't wait to see what you still have in store for it
Lots more!
Fantastic! Yellow isn't my preference, but I definitely would have redone it in the original color like you did. Same when it came to my Arctic Silver 987.2 CS.
wasn't the original color black? Would also have done it yellow, looks very nice
Nope, it's always been yellow.
this thing has come so far! keep it up man
Hot AF ! Well done Matt. Should be very happy and proud to get to this stage especially after such a long time. Hopefully you can get it on the road and buttoned up so you can enjoy it soon.
Oh and looking back every time you park it 😂
Good job man.
I always look back now lol.
looks great, glad you stuck with speed yellow!
Great work buddy!!! I love it!
You did everything right! When I saw the grey 996, my fingers were poised to pounce upon the keyboard. LOL Good for you! Now you have a great looking 996TT!!
The update everyone's been waiting on.
I've been following for a month or 2 now. Great job
I love my 996 911 turbo added a ton of best aftermarket everything techart full body kit bilstein coilover fully adjustable suspension gembella full exhaust hre wheels 315 25 19 235 35 19 nitto tires Numeric short shifter and gt3 cables what a huge difference upgraded clutch and upgraded all the gears mod power commander and boosted the twin turbos and made all the air inflows every where 1 inch bigger and upgraded the airflow to the brakes another one in as well upgrading the stereo to a double DIN deck added two amplifiers and added 4 8 inch Subs across the rear now 600 hp to the awd manual drive huge difference
Love your excitement! Well done
Happy for YOU buddy!😊
Very cool Matt ! Congrats on the finalization of the car. Subbed !
Thanks! It’s far from finished though. Lots more projects!
God Damn Matt! ...The Porsche looks amazing! ...So happy for you bro!
Matt, I'm so happy for you!
The shine of that paint ❤
Fantastic outcome!!
Looks phenomenal. Congrats!
Extremely satisfying video Matt. Congrats so far. Now please go the extra mile and give the seats some love as well. Colour lock has amazing products which help to get the leather back to as good as new condition and get rid of that greasy shine. 1) Clean of grease and dirt 2) Dye the faded and worn areas and 3) Close off with conditioning and sealing the leather and be left with a nice matt (..) finish. As long as there are no rips in the leather the result will amaze you and will be well worth your time spent. And as others suggestes, the tails should be swapped for the OEM white-red. Personally I’d prefer the OEM Turbo wheels in silver as well but that is really a minor detail.
Seats are going to get recovered.
From hooptie to concours.
This puppy deserves Bilstein or Kw coilovers and a nice exhaust now. Then, garage queen. 👑
Coming!
Came out great. Yellow rear fender vents looks clean.
Wow! It looks so good my friend! Enjoy!
Great car and fun video. Nice job!
The new paint looks amazing!
Car looks great! Really good production/editing also. I hope they didnt overspray on your wheels, looked to have some gaps 🙈
Love the paint. Personally I don't like the wing and would go for a duck tail type, but each to their own really
I actually love the wing now, and it matches the front bumper.
attaboy! the mismatched paint was killin me. she's lookin fine now!
Really proud of you 🥹🥹🥹
Well done Matt, the car looks stunning and now visually reflects all your efforts. Though it would have looked incredible in Crayon. That thumbnail had me for a second. 😉 Cheers from New Zealand.
I love Nardo Grey, would have looked sweet!
Hell ya dude! The car looks great! 🚀🚀
Great Job! Car came out looking really good!
Car looks great Matt, congrats!
The transformation is stunning. Great job. The front emblem has a proper gasket.
Ah, now I know about the gasket. A bunch of people commented this lol.
@@matt13ross Right? Porsche dudes are famous for this stuff. Welcome to the club!
😂
I sincerely hope the channel takes off for you, this 911 build is worth watching!
I hope so too!
Wow I didn't realize how much I hated that black until it was gone. Like this distain I felt looking at this car just lifted haha. So much better.
Been enjoying watching your vids!!
Nice work! Def recommend getting some ceramic coating on that fresh paint...I use G-technic on my vehicles, you'll be glad you did every time you wash the car!
Yup, coming eventually.
It's great watching you rebuild my bucket list car... Someday that'll be me!!!
Looks perfect. 🔥💯.Hope you wrapped it in protective film.
Possibly in the future.
Those "roof rack" covers or whatever you called them, are actually called "ditch moulding"
Outstanding film .... brilliant stuff.
Looks amazing Bro 😎
The car is looking amazing! Getting down to the nitty gritty. There is supposed to be a gasket between the front emblem an hood. An you are also missing the turbo badge on the rear decklid, if you wanted it.
Ah, now I know about the gasket. A bunch of people commented this lol.
What an incredible transformation. Great pain job! Is that the original color?
Yup!
I saw the chalk grey thumbnail and made me super happy then saw it was yellow 😢 looks good overall man congrats
Will those re-installed trim pieces and seals withstand 130mph+?
The car looks awesome!!! All the way from South Africa.
For the front windshield trim, I thought that you have to remove the glass to remove and reinstall it. You didn't need to do that. Did you use a factory seal or is that some aftermarket part or something else.
I didn’t remove the whole trim. The trim on my car is 2 pieces. I just removed the outer piece. Idk if it’s factory or not.
Stoked for you brother 🤙🏼
Wow! That yellow is sick Love it!!
Agreed!
I'm surprised they got that paint to hold out against that primer in as little coats as they did. Yellow DOES NOT cover 😤😤😤😡
Color is great! You're doing the lords work with this 911T 💪🏾💪🏾
I'm not sure how many coats they did, it's not all on camera. Thanks!
New seals for the windows would give It an even fresher look but so impressed with this so far!
Now its a sweet ride for sure. Will you do something about the rear tail lights? Have to get the last bit of that black paint off it.
Eventually
Anybody knows, when repainting a car. Do you need to only wet sand the existing panel, or just sand out the existing clear?
I'm not expert, depends on the situation.
Looks fantastic mate
Great paint top job 👍👍
car looks sick Matt. Good work
NOW WERE TALKIN!!!
beaultiful, beaultiful beaultiful!
I need to restore my E36 and do a video series on the with the 996 in the background lol ;)
Yes!
