Nice mod. Why are not you cleaning the dismantled parts before installing them again? The gearbox, intercooler housings, etc... Did you changed gearbox oil ? Thanks in advance
@@RegalAutosport While the exhaust is an issue you have to beware drone when you open it up. Many aftermarket exhausts are awful inside the cabin. A system with Heimholtz chambers seem to work best. What I was pointing out was the INTAKE. That box in the back on top of the engine feeds turbos LOW on the engine sides and the pipes feeding that are lengthy and kneck down badly in multiple places. Put a vac gauge on the inlet of the turbo and do a pull, you will see awful pressure drop just from the tubing. Solving this is hard since the car runs a single mass air meter but even just better piping to the stock box helps the pressure drop. Going speed density with filters behing the intercoolers is even better but you'll need to go with an aftermarket ECU...
It’s actually proven that the intake setup is good for up to 800whp. No need to modify anything there. And speed density doesn’t require an aftermarket ECU, just a tuner.
@@G8rJimbo You may be able to "make" 800 through it but the pressure drop at the turbo will tell the tale. Those pipes are restrictive, long, and neck down a good bit. I doubt you could pass a golfball through them.
A picture is worth a thousand words. This is going to help me replace my clutch. Thank you!!!
Glad to be of service!
Awesome work here. Love your channel! that Porsche 996 Turbo is so nice.
Thank you for your kind words and thanks for watching! We’ve definitely got a soft spot for them
This was a satisfying upgrade to watch
All the right bits!
Need more porsches on the channel lads, loved this build!
We love PORSCHEs! Our team has 2 996 turbos and 1 997 GT3. Maybe we should cover them :D
Please do lads a 996 is on my list at some point @@RegalAutosport

Because the customer did not approve that schedule of work
OEM exhaust and OEM intake - those intake pipes are really restrictive and 10ft long with multiple crimps. Lots of room to improve further!
Absolutely! We did suggest to the customer for a performance exhaust but he decided not to on this occasion

Yeah you don’t need a new airbox. You need new plumbing leading to the turbos because they link very badly

Never been a fan of dyno power measurements.
I mean its the only tool we can use to verify tuning without risking a customers car, other road users or our techs
just awful background music.
Thank you for sharing
@@RegalAutosport seriously. starts at 1:57 and goes for 3 mins! just a 3 sec sample that kept looping.
