It's actually very normal in Latino and Asian cultures. We get along with our parents and our parents are not counting the minutes until they can kick us out.
Love the van and admire the lifestyle tremendously! Freelancing pictures is so possible these days: no film processing and no printing out needed. Fantastic. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Best wishes for the future!
Good for him. I guess youngsters have not much choice if they want to live in Vancouver, as apartments the size of that van cost at least half a mill. Heck, even crack houses are becoming gentrified in Vancouver.
Holy Fok that's a nice van! (I know-that was immature, but I couldn't resist.) Nice setup. I like the pop top. Being able to stand up is great. He needs some solar & a 12volt fridge.
I hear you bro! I say if a person cannot be happy with having minimal property, they may never be happy. That awesome that you found a person to inspire you. You are one of my many who are inspiring me to take the step. Still in the planning stage. RoC On Bro!
Great video! The van is brilliant, it has inspired me to keep looking at converting my van. What a lovely, cruisey bloke, even thanking the person that stole his van for not trashing it! This vid has put a smile on my dial today.
In the states we have so many gyms with 24 hours, and showers, it costs almost nothing. Then there's the Amazon thing - so many portable showers to choose from. You can hang a curtain from the back doors of the van and create a cubby and shower in there.
I really dig this van. Something about it seems so simple and cozy, and the discrete part is also great! I can tell this dude deserves this van though!
I didn't really want to think about it but tiny house living does pose a slight problem with security and if you build your house light and mobile chances are someone can still break in and steal the vehicle. If you're too remote someone could just bust in and steal whatever they like which would be most of your stuff because in a tiny house you have to be a minimalist great one more problem. A more positive thought if you put a solar panel on that pop-up roof he could orient the vehicle to the sun and get a good charge.
There are those among us who are kind of like, extreme minimalists who often have this fantasy in the back of their mind that one day someone will come along and take everything. Then we will be totally free...
In Vancouver, there are certain places to avoid. Like public parkings, or where the drug addicts regularly hang around like Surrey or East Hastings, they typically go to these lots looking for spare change, looking for something inside the cars, if your car isn't stolen it's windows are smashed and stereo or something is taken... It's common.
wow this is my fav van ive watched a 1000 of these videos easily i want that...i unook battery when i park in a place i cant aford to be stranded from stolen car
Thanks for the video, great job on van. It is so cool to see someone living and loving life, not just existing. I truly hope all works out for you, you have an excellent attitude and a great start on the rest of your life. Btw, that smile will get you even farther! Good luck and best wishes!
It is really nice to see other people that aren't white doing this. I notice that all i see are just white americans and it is nice to just relate to people from other backgrounds that want to do the same as you.
absolutely fascinating..i wish i could live in a van.i would be much happier than liveing in a 4 bedroom house ...the less u hv in life the happier u cn be ..❤️❤️
I'm so sorry that they took your van but I'm very happy that you got it back I see you got the club but there's also another lock you can get that goes under the brake and it hooks onto your steering wheel as well keeps them from driving away with your van cuz actually they can cut that club... I know because they did it to my husband car at one point and that's what made us get newer and better lock system it's like sort of looks like the club...It hooks underneath the brakes and hooks onto the steering wheel as well just food for thought...
It gives clarity of the mind, it gives the best perspectives of nature, culture and freedom, no strings attach, at your own pace and time. SMEs......./......../......../....../..GM.
very nice van....but without a partition to separate the front cab from the rest of the van, all of the stuff inside ( bed , wanter tank, battery etc) could become lethal projectiles in a frontal collision .
pros and cons to both! I like the height of the bed where it is because there's enough room for me to sit up on my bed without hitting my head on the ceiling
I tried the Van Life. I didn't like it. I looked at someone elses Van that had a wood stove in it for heat. You might think about doing that. The Pop Top would help.
I didn't have a pop-up top for one. I like being able to stand up when I dress. I didn't have a wood stove either. Don't try anything other than a wood stove, or you might wake up dead. Finding places to park was another problem.
Were you staying in a very cold climate or are you sensitive to cold? The nice thing about a vehicle is it moves to a better climate to state the obvs. Anyway, there are sacrifices to made that's for sure
He mentions this was bought used, Im guessing with the cabinets and pop top installed? It looks professionally done, any name of the conversion company that did this?
Is the conversion by GTRV? The pop-top at least appears to be. I have a Ford E250 with GTRV conversion that I bought new in 2001. Although I don't full-time in it (yet) I've spent over 550 nights in it.
What a nice normal man. He seems to have priorities in harmony as well. I really liked this van. ~Smile!
Still lives with mommy. Not so normal.
It's actually very normal in Latino and Asian cultures. We get along with our parents and our parents are not counting the minutes until they can kick us out.
So pretty much most of the world.
@ ld11112 the superior blames himself, the inferior blames others。
you should ask him to marry you. hehe.
This is a cool van and I love this young guy's spirit. He's practically smiling and grinning throughout the whole interview. Nice build Julian 👍🏽😃
Yeah he had a great positive energy, it was really meeting him! Thanks for watching the video :) :)
thanks for taking the time to watch :)
Julian Fok love your positive attitude!
Sharon Land Fisher thanks! It's not always easy, but it beats being unhappy
right, he must be happy with his hobbies, work and everything else, content. good to see someone like that.
Awesome. He's really got it figured out. It helps that he has some family that's local and can shower at the gym he was already going to anyway.
Yeah, not a bad set up at all. BC is also an awesome place to be if you're in a van! Thanks for watching =)
"You get to meet up on the beach and have breakfast." That sounds so amazing!
Love the van and admire the lifestyle tremendously! Freelancing pictures is so possible these days: no film processing and no printing out needed. Fantastic. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Best wishes for the future!
Thanks for checking out the video Terry :)
thanks Terry!
Julian, do you know where to get a pop up like the one on your van installed? I've never seen one so stealthy! Most are raised and very obvious. ):
Loved the video and really liked his van. Especially loved the pop up roof. Wish I had done this 35 years ago
Good for him. I guess youngsters have not much choice if they want to live in Vancouver, as apartments the size of that van cost at least half a mill. Heck, even crack houses are becoming gentrified in Vancouver.
Lol!

Nice video guys, great life and wishing I did this 20 years ago!
Wagons Rule!
Me too! I'm going to go for it even though I'm almost 60
Holy Fok that's a nice van! (I know-that was immature, but I couldn't resist.)
Nice setup. I like the pop top. Being able to stand up is great. He needs some solar & a 12volt fridge.
haha! Best comment yet. Solar is great, but it rains 8 months out of the year here
I hear you bro! I say if a person cannot be happy with having minimal property, they may never be happy. That awesome that you found a person to inspire you. You are one of my many who are inspiring me to take the step. Still in the planning stage. RoC On Bro!
I'm amazed how comfy looking your 135" wheelbase van is when you add the pop top and the sideways sleeping configuration. Very nice build. Sir!
Pop top is epic, super slim and stealth!
That pop up roof tent is amazing! Enjoy your journey!
he is so adorable i just want to hug him lol
Great video! The van is brilliant, it has inspired me to keep looking at converting my van. What a lovely, cruisey bloke, even thanking the person that stole his van for not trashing it! This vid has put a smile on my dial today.

Mmmmk I have a little crush on this guy. (The freckles! The glasses! That shirt!) Oh, and his van's nice too. :P
IKR! Not to sexually harass this guy online, but wow he's hawt!
That smile too! Don't forget the smile!
Wooo! Love the pop top. Smart design, too :) Looks fun!!
I really dig this van. Something about it seems so simple and cozy, and the discrete part is also great! I can tell this dude deserves this van though!
Nice feature. Really compact living.
You guys did an amazing job on this cool film. Julian is an Awsome guy and very inspiring 👍

Julian is a cool guy with awesome van! Nice video!
This really inspires me to go out there and experience van life.
You did an awesome job I'm sure you will have many admirers. Safe travels to you my friend
wow this is my fav van ive watched a 1000 of these videos easily i want that...i unook battery when i park in a place i cant aford to be stranded from stolen car
joelincoln l
That's genius - unhooking battery!
Even the thieves in Canada are nice and courteous. WTF?
No. I visited Vancouver from Seattle and thieves were not at all courteous...as they smashed my car window.
Nawf Side Reviews lol
Yes, monsieur. The minds of Democrats are vast and vacuous. And he wears a comic book hero T-shirt, his true identity.
Khanh Ho
Sorry to hear that - it's terrible when people are so disrespectful
He was probably just a homeless needed a place to sleep..... 😂😆😁🤣
Very nice set-up. That is exactly what I am looking to do. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice
Thanks for the video, great job on van. It is so cool to see someone living and loving life, not just existing. I truly hope all works out for you, you have an excellent attitude and a great start on the rest of your life. Btw, that smile will get you even farther! Good luck and best wishes!
thanks Brian! I really appreciate the kind words!!
It is really nice to see other people that aren't white doing this. I notice that all i see are just white americans and it is nice to just relate to people from other backgrounds that want to do the same as you.

Thanks for the ideas!
Can we talk about how hot he is for a second? Also super lucky to live with his parents and not have to worry about bills.
Did he give any indication what brand the pop top was?
Wow that thing is clean for a 99. Nice job spider dude.
I Love how your van is super clean!
Nicely thought out. 👍
Where did you get your roof top installed for your van.
Hahaha he was a nice robber that's the most Canadian thing I have heard
I'm almost there.
It gives clarity of the mind, it gives the best perspectives of nature, culture and freedom, no strings attach, at your own pace and time. SMEs......./......../......../....../..GM.
Great build. Not fancy but very practical.
What the Fok, that's a fresh van broski!
Wow you really did it right... Congrats.
What a great setup you've got!
Contagious smile!!!
Awesome! I like the music at the start! Is that you?!?!?!?!?
Thanks for all your super positive comments Phil! You're the best! The music at the start is by StrayOtic :)
Great video I love the Layout of your van. Good luck on your travels 👍🏻😎
very nice van....but without a partition to separate the front cab from the rest of the van, all of the stuff inside ( bed , wanter tank, battery etc) could become lethal projectiles in a frontal collision .
Did he install the pop up top? If so where did he buy it? How much did it cost? How did he do the installation?
opens ice box . . . beer. my kinda man!
Really nice.
Id make the bed higher so as to use more storage.but i like his simple van.
pros and cons to both! I like the height of the bed where it is because there's enough room for me to sit up on my bed without hitting my head on the ceiling
Nice Van! 👌
You should move the water ports to the bottom
This is what I need. A part time stealth van.
julian you should install solar power for long time of period very important electricity supply
Cool van man.
Really nice roomy van.
Great van. Not sure if I missed it but who did you get your pop top from? I really like that flat look. Thanks
KEWLNESS! 8-) Congratulations!
Excellent video, gotta go. Please post your weekly adventures on this channel.
Very good set up.
well done
lol I like how he doesnt use a ladder to climb on the top
Very nice setup. The pop top is amazing. I really enjoyed your video. I will be subscribing and liking.
Țhank you for sharing.
Keep it coming
Nice video!
so cooool
Awesome way to live, that's cool...
Hey sweet van. What kind of pop top is that?? I need to order one
Hide a TILE in it. It will help you find the van if it gets stolen again. Nice van!
Thanks for the tip!
That is a dope ass van!
Question: did he buy the van with the pop up already installed? The opening to the top seems huge! Thanks.
Awesome, very pro looking cabinets!
I wonder where the cabinets came from. Did he build them or buy them?
How cool! Love your van!
I'm getting my van soon!!!
That van is f amazing! I was wondering if I should get a refural extension top or a poptop and I'm going for the poptop
I tried the Van Life. I didn't like it. I looked at someone elses Van that had a wood stove in it for heat. You might think about doing that. The Pop Top would help.
What didn't you like about it?
I didn't have a pop-up top for one. I like being able to stand up when I dress. I didn't have a wood stove either. Don't try anything other than a wood stove, or you might wake up dead. Finding places to park was another problem.
Were you staying in a very cold climate or are you sensitive to cold? The nice thing about a vehicle is it moves to a better climate to state the obvs. Anyway, there are sacrifices to made that's for sure
I was in Missoula Mt. COLD!!
He mentions this was bought used, Im guessing with the cabinets and pop top installed? It looks professionally done, any name of the conversion company that did this?
Nice
Thank you!
There's a Meetup group for Vanlife in Vancouver or something? Would like to know since I'm going to be living in my car and heading to Vancouver.
yup, search "Vancouver Vandwellers" on Facebook
pop top ftw!
Buy a coleman stove that uses white gas, not the IsoButane thats like $7 a can. You can buy a gal of the white gas for $10-12 and save some $$.
Is the conversion by GTRV? The pop-top at least appears to be. I have a Ford E250 with GTRV conversion that I bought new in 2001. Although I don't full-time in it (yet) I've spent over 550 nights in it.
I'm waiting for the day when someone gets a nice camper van and doesn't upload any video to show it to anyone wouldn't that me much more fun?
Est-il possible d'ajouter un toit qui se soulève à un van Kia Sedona? C'est pas mal cool.🚐
Did this van come equipped w/storage ... Sweet home.
