    Sorry, but this video has nothing whatsoever to do with "setting up" an ASIO interface. All it shows is connecting a USB cable, and selecting the correct driver in the DAW. "Setting up" would include identifying the correct USB port (one not on the USB root hub for example), optimising the USB ports (disabling power save), selecting the most efficient buffer size to minimise pops/crackles & latency, and setting the correct sample rate & format based on what you want to achieve. Contrary to what the manufacturers would have you believe, setting up one of these devices isn't just a matter of connecting a cable. Unless you tweak the hell out of them, the chances are you're going to be unhappy with the experience. For example, you might want to change buffer size based on whether you're recording, in which case you'll want a low latency, or just processing an existing track, where latency matters less than sound quality and artefacts.

    Hey Man! I have a little problem, I hope you can solve it for me.
    I've been using that same audio interface for about a year, I guess. Everything works great, but I've noticed that the sound that the audio interface receives is too low. The problem is that when I'm working on a song, I can't turn the audio up cause it gets saturated and ruins the song.
    I don't know if it has anything to do with the scarlett, or it's just me.
    Thx bro, great video!

    • @EdwardSmithMusic
      @EdwardSmithMusic  4 роки тому +4

      Changing the volume shouldn't effect the quality of your song unless you go past the limit of distortion. In your case, I think your track might have a mixing problem or the sounds you are using aren't right. You are not hearing all the frequencies in your sounds when you play your track cause you are keeping it low. The way your track sounds when you turn up the volume to normal hearing is what your track really sounds like. Try exporting your song just to double check the quality. If you still have the saturation issue when playing the wave file, then it's the song... if not, it's something else.

      My Mac also has a little slot for the usb-c cord. It doesn’t have a CD drive.

      Try switch off the the direct monitor. If you still have issues, update you interface driver from the Focusrite website 👌🏼

    Hi, Edward. Can this do 2 channel multi-track?

    Edward. Loved the vid. But i have a question. I have a Pioneer DDJ 400 mixer and need to use an audio interface such as this to record my voice to my mixes. I currently use rekordbox for all my dj sets. The mixer signal is direct to master. Thus the reason for the interface. In any event, i am trying to understand once i purchase this interfaced and set it up, how will the rekordbox software recognize it in it's settings if there is no option in rekordbox to add or set it up? Next, how will my voice be picked up if there is no button on the mixer tp turn the mic on or off like my DDJ 1000 has?
    Sorry but my question is rather loaded because i keep purchasing things after things and getting no where. THe only button the mixer has for the mic is a volume control switch. Please google the DDJ 400 so that you can see the outputs it comes with. Look forward to hearing from you.

    Ok, but what if you have a MacBook Pro Big Sur Version 11.6.5 with a USB Type-C? I have to use a hub to plug in any USB ports. I've been told it's not good to go through a hub when connecting the interface with the laptop, that it's better to connect directly to it.

    Hi , I hope you see this as you might be able to help me out! I have just bought this interface as I am only a beginner music producer. It uses a usb-c port and cable. My MacBook has a thunderbolt 3 port. Ive heard that these are the same thing and yet I always find different cables! Do you know what cable i should be buying? Thank you so much!
